It isn't boredom. It is compulsive picking usually triggered because of stress.
@@DiamondsRexpensive it's different reasons for different people. I've been doing it since childhood, and I'd say most of the time, it's from stress, but I also use it to keep myself awake, or even sometimes it helps keep me present in conversation, which isn't so socially acceptable. For some people, it's just self-stimulation, aka it's a "stim," and it can help to keep one's self present, especially when genuinely bored. Usually picked up in early childhood development. Just saying that just because someone picks does not mean they're stressed in that moment, it can be a coping mechanism for many different situations.
@@victoriarobertson266this is the first time in my whole life someone described what I do and what I have. it's crazy I only now am realising it is a condition and I am not alone. sometimes feels crazy, like I am the one ruining my own skin and such, but reading this is so reassuring. i do it as a form of stress relief, comfort, present in conversation, just everything... I can't believe someone had to tell me to moisturize my dry zits for better coverage! Duh! That makes so much sense! I can't believe I hadn't thought of that before
If you have redness all over your face and don't feel like wearing foundation but have a giant bump, like I do these days, that you want to cover, but feel like concealer just highlights it, put some blush on it (after concealer). I don't know if I'm crazy, but it's way more noticeable imo when it's just concealer, especially in natural or strong lighting. I feel like it draws less the eye that way and is more natural than a bump that is lighter or yellow instead of a bit rosy.

That’s what I do! I leave the pimple slightly red and put blush over it, if it’s in that area. If it’s on my forehead I’ll just leave it exposed.

Your skin is proof that moisturizing the skin doesn’t equal breakouts and congestion. In fact, as you moisturized this Spot, it improved. All the acne people drying their skin out don’t have acne as likely as they have irritation they think is acne from a compromised barrier. Great demonstration!

hydrocolloid pimple patches work SO WELLLLL - peace out are expensive but worth it. unsure about the deep needle ones, but wow pimple patches changed my life

Same...I just turned 57. I seldomly get pimples since starting menopause, but OMG, the sweat! And if I'm not beading with sweat, then I'm freezing. UGH! 😅

I would love it if you could do a video on tips for finding the right concealer that matches your face. It's so super hard because I feel like most concealers are made for under the eyes.

Girl I’m in the trenches of a tretinoin purge, so I love you even more for this ♥️♥️♥️ my skin is as it’s worst ever (on tret to clear scarring), so though I know in theory what do for this skin to makeup-wise, and don’t usually get *new* tips from makeup tutorials, I still learn new ideas from your videos (as well as Mariah Leonard and Jackie Wyers, for you other viewers who like makeup tutorial-only channels!!!)

Great tips Alex! I will often put a bandaid on it at night with a concoction of salicylic acid, neosporin and steroid cream all on the spot and cover it with the bandaid. The acid does it’s thing which is irritating to the skin, while the steroid and neosporin heal and calm it down. Works great also when you don’t have time in the morning to let moisturizer sit on it before applying makeup.

Also makeup tutorial idea that I have no idea if you’ve covered, but could you go through all the different ways to do eye makeup, like side by side and the different impacts it has? And how to determine which styles might be most suited to your anatomy? Examples I’m thinking of are halo eyes, siren eyes, cat eye liner, puppy dog liner, smoky eyes, tight lining on both waterlines, different types of false lashes and where to place emphasis with shape and color

I never thought of putting a ton of hydration on a pimple. I usually just put some tea tree oil on them over night then dot or pack on, in your parlance, some powder concealer then blend out. I don't wear foundation but I do have a good concealer match and some texture powder that tends to disappear most of the texture. Love your channel.

Amazing job... But when I have some spots I usually don't wear anything on my face tbh it can make the pimple even worse. I don't care about what others think.

Please throw out the benxol peroxide it just makes blemishes bigger. Instead, make a tiny bit of paste with baking soda and water and dab on blemish pretty heavyo spot. You will be
amazed it could be gone overnight, for sure, in 2 to 3 nights! And price you can not beat. Don't forget about Burt's Bees with teetree blemish stick- just clear. I have dry skin and am on tretinoin so I get random flaky spots on my face, especially around my nose, and I do your same technique with putting a blob of moisturizer on it and letting it sit while I get ready. Great tip!

I know you have a ton of skincare that you probably already love but I really like putting natural honey on breakouts as a spot treatment or as a mask (it leaves your face super soft) but it makes the redness of my acne go away in an hour or even less sometimes but using it overnight shrinks my acne immensely. (Also don’t know if it matters I use wildflower honey from the Aldi store brand)
