I seriously love how much of a skatehead every pro skater happens to be, but especially Kelly Hart. He knows every trick done by everyone, at every spot, and I love his analysis. Nine club is perfection. Joslin is an absolute beast.
Sorry guys, Roger is completely right about the bearing spacers. The easiest way to comprehend it is to put together a wheel without a spacer and one with a spacer then, tighten the shit out of both. The wheel with the spacer will continue to roll freely and even stop you from tightening the nut. The wheel without the spacer will just push the bearings in to the center of the wheel until it eventually wont roll at all.
I cannot believe that so many people don't understand this concept. Many high level guys that swear by certain things that absolutely defy logic. It's just in their head😂 There was one the other day that blew my mind. I forgot what it was but I believe it was Chris Cole that said it. Trying to remember I wanted to go onto heir IG and say something, not that he'd even respond, but🤷♂️hahah
You guys have really hit upon a golden format here. The 9 Club is ace but the Stop and Chat is proper skate nerd stuff. Absolutely delightful to hear the fun and passion in the room
ThinkForYourself my theory is that SOTY is all about timing. And by that I mean, you need to put out something in the last two months of the year in order to really stand a chance. And Blessed came out maybe a week before SOTY was decided. And everything Joslin did was around spring/summer time. So by the time the SOTY conversation is happening, I think a lotta people kinda forgot just how much Joslin did compared to everyone else
ThinkForYourself it’s the only part he put out in 2018, but I can acknowledge that it was a VERY heavy part. So I’d say he deserved to be considered for SOTY then. But there’s just no measure that could convince me he did more than Joslin that year. And other stuff Tyshawn had done: you should check his Adidas Away Days part. That was also very good. He also had a lot of heaviness in Cherry, which I’d say would also add up to another really heavy part from him. Yea Tyshawn deserves accolades for sure, just not SOTY 2018
Man, I had a stroke back around the beginning of the shutdown. Now, I cant skate without looking down. I love living vicariously through these episodes!! God bless you guys!!!
@@tehmodestmouse6275 yeah I think he’s doing the live cuts during the interview, with occasional chime ins from out of the room, and probably the post editing with crob? That’s just a guess though.
This format is amazing! Interviewing skaters and talking about some of their best and biggest tricks and actually showing the footage, this for me is the dream! Just hearing these skaters talking about some of their best accomplishments on a skateboard, thanks 9 Club you guys are the best!
Joslin rolled away longer on the El Toro 360 Flip than he did the Chicago gap, but one makes the video and the the other some people don't consider a make. Amazing.
So cool to See all those Legends paying Tribute to each Other and showing Respect to each Other No matter the Generation, Style, skin color and that stuff. Thats what skating is about and it gives me Hope for our humanity
Long time 🇬🇧 skater 🛹 (40yo) 1year listener. Thanks fellas this is on the weekly podcast must. Quick one on the bearing spacers... in my later years I have started longboarding and the actual science behind them is 💯 % true facts! I had no idea for the longest time. A little google search is all it takes 🤛🏽 Peace out Thanks again for all you guys do x
Big up to Kelly and Jeron taking the time to really big up Chris for making it the way he did from the bottom. It's important to let people know every now and then...
Iv'e had a torn ACL and MCL for almost 20 years never got the surgery and i can pretty much do everything without worry. It was rough for a few years though.
Roger, I got your back on the spacer ring debate! They stop your bearing shield or exposed ball bearings from making contact with the truck hangar or the axle nut when your wheel shifts from side to side. Less friction = faster roll. Simple concept.
the nollie flip at San DImas high was AMAZING btw, that was in a venture ad pretty sure, it's hard to find those there were 3 CJos venture ads and they were all amazing
I met chris on his first aussie tour, he was by himself away fdom the big crowd and me and my mate got tk speak to him 1 on 1 , super nice dude! Absolute rippaシ
Crossed paths with Chris at Tampa Pro in 2016, I think he just turned pro just before and it was his first Tampa Pro contest. Super chill dude and I got a good angle of his backside flip during best trick (I had a course wristband, although I should not have been on that course at all but hey, bucket list shit).
We need more support for roger's spacer-theory man, let's make a spacer-awareness week. I actually ride bearings that each have half a spacer inbuilt, so that it forms one complete on the inside of my wheel. No rattling noise that way either - it's a win-win
I'm with you on the bearing spacers Rog. Eliminates most of the side load on the bearings that typically causes them to blow out. They also allow you to tighten your wheels all the way instead of leaving 1/16 inch of slop just to keep them rolling.
1:27 , if anyone lives close to this spot, all u need is asphalt patch, a tamper, but a heavy roller would be best ( rent it for like 30.00 at home depo) . If u use a roller, it will actually last a decent amount of time.
I’m with Chris Joslin on the bones bushing discussion, I like the idea of a bottom barrel bushing also remove the remove the plastic inserts just nothing but urethane. Ps I think they change most stock truck bushings different colours though they’re all 90a out of the factory, orange independent stocks are different hardness to replacement orange ones & I’ve had Thunder stocks bushings in blue, red, green & white all 90a to my knowledge? I’ll shut up now haha respect to The Nine Club & Chris Joslin really enjoyed this one as always.
I am on Team Roger on spacers debate. It is crazy to me is how so many pros don’t understand the basics of physics. I like to go as fast as possible with as little work as possible.
The way I learned inward heels was setting up like a was gonna do a BS heel but refrain from turning my body.. same with hardflips, I'd setup a FS flip but not turn and follow the board with my body.

Hey shoutout to Roger and Crob for giving it 1000% and taking care of all of us with these early edits!
For real man so stoked to listen every Monday on my way to work. The best way to start every week.
Last week in chat, "wonder what Joslin is up to.."
this week.. Ok thanks guys
Good job Kelly, quick turn around
For sure, Drew was on the Joslin big ups
That was the hint they were giving us. Kelly especially.
Jeron is a good addition to the 9club

Agreed! I’m so glad he brought this up, I always run bearing spacers and an extra washer. It keeps them axle nuts flush and my wheels rolling true.
Thanks for that visual bro
Have none of these people watched Whale Talk? Ron Whaley needs to school these guys on why you need to use washers and spacers.

love 69
kelly: I heard he was on acid or something.. dubs: He had to have been. hahaha dubs always killing it with one liners💎 🤣 1000%
Joslin was deeply robbed of SOTY in 2018. His Etnies part was 12 minutes of edited fire, and that was only one of many things he did that year
He had that 12 minute part in addition to like 2 other parts and an xgames real street. Robbed big time

As a dad to 2 kids, nothing made me smile more than Jeron and Joslin singing the PJ Masks song.. if you know, you know..
Night time is the best time to fight crime . . .
Chris Joslin is one of my favorite skaters. He 's one of the most savage and talented skaters of all time
Never thought I would hear baby shark on the nine club

Nice to see this after Reynolds and the crew were just talking about him in the last stop and chat. Rad!!!
Who else misses Roger’s stella’s on the table?
Where’d he go? Is he just doing the tech stuff now?
Jeron always with tasty beers tho.

did they kick him off the show?

i bought spacers to try and deal with my bearings slipping out but the wheels still stop rolling when i have the bolt tightened..any ideas why?
