American people put such emphasis on ethnicity, that’s ridiculous. When you are born and raised in France, you are French. We French people mix a lot, but we unite around the same customs. Even if your parents or grandparents come from an other country, you are French from a certain ascent and that’s great. We (children of immigrants) consider ourselves as French. What is very offensive is people saying that we are not because of our ethnicity or home culture when we consider this country our own.
