Great demonstration... practically this MMM just increase appreciably the power of modulation without significat distorsion. Nothing miracolouse, but helps a lot to brodcast a loud signal without splatters! Great stuff! Thanks!
The only problem is you don't need 100% modulation. Of course there will be distortion you are overmodulating the signal. 85 - 90% modulation is where you want to run your audio on the board at any radio station.
Sounds awesome. It is easy to decrease the negative Peaks without using the Mauldulator though. For the less technically proficient the Mauldulator makes it simpler and takes a lot of guesswork out of the equation.
I was running Pro Tools, I didn't change anything other than the gains to drive the direct inject harder. Im probably not losing highs but my lows were so over modulated the harmonics from the distortion were making it sound unbalanced.
Just my 2 cents so take it for what it's worth but your audio is not pleasant to listen to. It doesn't sound natural, the mid bass is cranked way to high and it sounds distorted all of the time, possibly a condenser with the gains too high or too close to the mic? It has potential but is very fatiguing to listen to.
I agree with you, since going to SDR RX I have made lots of changes! I would have rerecorded it but my poorly adjusted audio wasn't supposed to be the focus of the video.... sorry....lol
No worries because like I said, it obviously had potential. I'm just an audiophile and tend to notice things like that. Most people on the CB seem to think just because it has low end that it's HiFi but then again, well, I'm sure you know what I mean. Cool video though, thanks for sharing it.
I do know what you mean I make the same observations! I have a Mauldulator installed on my TS-850 along with the DSP-100. If It wasn't having the known CAR board issues I would have uploaded a video of that setup long ago and draw some attention away from this video....lol

I have cobra 29 LTD who do I need to contact to have direct inject installed thanks
How do we get one installed in our radio's.

With light processing the DI would sound better tho.

I want one.
No external audio processing I'm guessing. You start loosing the highs quickly when the carrier pinches. Excellent gate!

Where do I buy?
direct injected you bypass microphone amplifier in the radio or is it directly into the mic plug
The audio amp is bypassed.
bypass
Awesome gate!
