I would totally be ok watching that 2A3 Kondensator 2P build. That’s one of my favorite vehicles ever. I would love to see that build.

Lol why in the hell would you make that your 1st model? Go pick up a few tamiya kits and finish those before you start on that kit. I have that exact kit in my stash and I have several kits under my belt since I came back to the hobby and I eont build thst kit for some time
Hope that you're feeling better and well on the way to recovery. There's an excellent build of the Kondensator on the web showing all of the plumbing and fittings needed to make it a piece of art. There's video of the one that was in Portola, CA , the Littlefield collection, driving around the compound, might be on Toadman's site since the owner's passing and his collection was dispersed.

For a multi-vehicle (and multiple-figure) diorama, you could do something like a maintenance depot, where multiple tanks from the same side are in various stages of being torn down and worked on. Lots of potential for showing tank internals with open panels, engines being lifted out, etc., and figures interacting with the tanks and each other.
Back in the day (I am so dating myself) things like that were Francois Verlinden's bread and butter - but back then, there were no 'how to' videos, just very expensive (and hard to find) books that didn't really have much in the way of work in progress photos
A stug fire support scene would be cool too, maybe them digging in.
With his love of heavy mud etc, an "in motion" scene of a couple of t-34s moving fast at Kirsk or the like could be pretty cool too.
Some real possibilities for water and mud being slung of tracks with some very simple modeling and clear resin prints.
Why not a few 1/48 scale ww1 tanks crossing no man’s land.
Regarding the Russian howitzer... You could do a real how-to... How to research, where to find the pictures, etc.
That would make a great series to watch. seeing how the Master tackles a big job like that.
And the reserch part he would be able to do with his leg .
This HUGE howitzer pipe has to be made out of metal on the lathe. Because there are a few sizes of these guns and the longest is just hilarious.
Not to mention he could walk us through how to make a 'playbook' of sorts for getting a kit from start to finish.
Plus, there are major differences between it and your average tank- all that plumbing will require techniques not used on tanks, so how do you plan for that, set up tools and materials, how does that affect workflow and order of operations etc.
And yes Uncle, we would watch a month or two of it.
I would totally watch a longer series! I know not everyone would follow the whole thing so I understand why you'd take that into consideration. Hopefully you can just do the projects you enjoy and we'll come along for the ride.

A tank battle diorama at 1:35 scale, if the vehicles were a km away from each other, would roughly be 28 metres long. And now I really want to see that done.
make it a battle in the Western Desert to cut down on the amount of foliage needed

A second decent option for a two-vehicle diorama is a convoy situation (where you have two vehicles driving along side-by-side, or another road scenario with two vehicles passing eachother.

Here is my idea for the two vehicles - Even Historical one.
During Battle of Kursk. There were actualy many reports where Russian T-34's rammed German Tigers. I think there could be more to research. But thats probably the most plausible idea :)

10:35 I actually quite like the idea of a long-running series of "How to hyper-detail your tanks".
As a 40K modeller/player I'm largely at the mercy of what's in the GW kit. I've never really learned, or had the opportunbity to learn, how to go about adding that kind of detail to something. I've got the Forge World Modellers Masterclass book which touches on it, but i don't really feel like it's trying to be an exhaustive guide. I like to see a breakdown of the process, but also understand the reasoning behind why something is the way it is, or where it is etc.
Glad to see you back at it building more kits. You sir, have the best job in the world (as in doing what you like). Keep up the good work.

Fantastic post Uncle! You brought a lot into perspective. Thanks so much for sharing your views on such varied topics. I'm post op from a very major shoulder and upper arm that got crushed, shattered so I'm trying to model almost one handed. We understand take your time.

Your experimentation with different techniques is one of the most valuable aspects of your videos. I know that I tend to follow my same, old steps, using the same techniques on every kit. As a result it's difficult for me to improve, and make a better product. Thank you for that. (I just need to find the courage to try some of those new techniques.)

I enjoy all of the videos but the construction videos are my favorite! Love getting ideas on how to better improve models through kit bashing, creating new parts or missing parts from scratch, and just putting the personal touches on it. The painting videos are also great but I could definitely watch a multi-part research, construciton, and paint mini-series on that russian model! I know you are beholden to those who invest money into your videos but man from a subscriber/regular viewer this would be an amazing series and I would be behind it 100%.

For the M103 I had a few ideas, for the hull, if you're really as nuts as you seem, you could use styrene to possibly make a roughish Tank destroyer super structure to replace the turret, however if you don't want to. You could use the turret as a prop in a post apocalyptic model where the turret itself matters little. And is a back ground piece, and you could use the hull in that "Vehicle driving past wrecked out vehicle" idea. With an alternate history. Being passed by an IS-7 or something.

Hi Night Shift. I believe your leg will get well soon. Think positive and keep creating your models. Several years ago i had an accident with my motorcycle and i saved from losing my leg. After 6 surgeries and 5 years and with a big help of model making and patience i walked again. I wish you the best with your health.

Don't worry about building anything right now. Just take care of that leg. I in joy watching your channel. I've been building tank models since the 80's , and I'm still learning new stuff every day. I have Parkinson's and yes I still build and paint and weather all of my models myself. So hang in there and get well soon

Perhaps you could obscure the M103 turret with camo netting and tree branches/natural camouflage materials. I hope you are feeling better! I once broke my leg near the ankle, I remember how much it hurt every morning when I first lowered it off the edge of my bed. Biggest regret: About 40 years ago I finally got a kit of the FW200 Condor having always loved the shape. I think it was a Revell kit, but the fuselage was totally warped. Much unhappiness 😞

@@kudukilla probably! I mean I’ve never done an armor piece in my life and I still watch every video. I’ve gotten so many tips that carry into mecha/gundam and scratch building it’s actually crazy.

I'm glad you are doing well,it's hard to get through a week without a new video :) One model I almost tossed against the wall was an early Dragon Hummel,it was an absolutely primitive nightmare.! I think it would be cool if you built a diorama of a helicoptor lifting out a wounded bicycler :D
I actually did toss a model over my shoulder once (individual link track weren't going well). It was a training vehicle based on the Hetzer..... darned thing bounced a few times, chipped a couple parts and in the end it got finished and is resting in my display case now.... Like your idea of the chopper rescue, and he does have reference footage....

Uncle, whatever you decide to put up is gold for us. Do what you can and let the rest wait. BTW I was amazed (read horrified ) looking at your selfie while being airlifted. As a first responder (retired) I have never seen such a flimsy lifting apparatus with what appeared to be zero restraints to keep you in the net. That would have scared the crap out of me! Anyway, I can relate to your Howitzer dilemma; I have a 1/32 Republic F-105D in my stash that I bought because I used to fly them. I had plans to really get into some super detailing based on my experiences with the Thud, but every time I open the box the enormity of the project stuns me. When I bought it I guess I wrote a check that I couldn't cash. Get better, let the docs do their thing, and be happy.

Even without a model, your content is excellent! I definitely would love to see a very in-depth series on the Russian 2A3 Kondensator 2P!!
Idea for the M103; destroyed tank, with the blown off turret lying upside down in the mud to one side. It could even be an opportunity to try fire and smoke effects with cotton wool (I've seen it done well on spaceships, it may or may not work with a tank "in atmosphere"). You can even have a multi-vehicle diorama, with a Königstiger that just rolled up to the scene.
Just wanted to say thanks to night shift(and Dibbles in San Antonio...very nice mom and pop, wish I could transplant them closer than 5 hours from home.), you have gotten me interested enough in scale armor building, I sprung for a takom 1/35 panther mid-late kit and am going to tackle it. I've painted warhammer...well passabley for a couple decades now, looks like I'm about to learn a bit more about chipping and weathering( my poor orks may never look the same after this!)
Martin, I was doing a recap on a couple of videos, so hence commenting when this video is 5months old, judging from some of the previous comments I believe it’s fair to say us viewers would welcome your build series on the Russian artillery piece. Us builders being naturally patient would endure a series build of many episodes, especially with your entertainment skills. So hope you get this comment for the start of 2022 and a Happy New Year to you and I hope the build can be planned into the year ahead. Keep building, don’t just buy them 😉👍
It would be great to get a video on what some essential tools you'd recommend. There are so many out there, so it would be good to understand what's actually worth getting/what will speed up your workflow etc.
