That is the message I needed in my first relationship. Harper was an emotionally abusive gaslighter and I have trauma from hiding who I was due to an emotionally abusive gasligher.

For example if you (or anyone else) watched the movie and didn't get those vibes at all from Riley, or the chemistry between them, that wouldn't be incorrect either tbh. She ignored her for most of their Christmas together, and then went out with her high school boyfriend till 2 am and said that Abby was crowding her when she was clearly concerned. Her family put Abby through the ringer and clearly made her feel very uncomfortable and unwanted the whole time they stayed with them, but Harper didn’t even seem to care and only made it worse. And when Abby got angry with her for lying to her parents she says that Abby agreed to do this. Which isn’t really true, they were almost at her parents house after having planned the whole trip when Harper told Abby the truth. She made her lie and pretend to be someone she’s not, and it was clear that the only reason Abby agreed to it was because she felt so pushed to.
So one thing is not clear for me, if Abby and Harper were living together back in their town, and John is taking care of the pets, why Harper never even asked about it?? Seems like she doesn't even now about the pets and not even about John? I'm gonna have to watch the movie again to see if there's something I missed. Anyone else noticed that or is it just me?

That is a really good idea. Riley is so good for her and non-toxic, Harper was an emotionally manipulative gaslighter, the moral of the story was you should forgive emotional abusers as long as they run after you and apologise. Terrible film.

When Harper denied she’s gay and Abby left the house, I would have root for Riley following her instead of John. That’s more authentic for me rather than Harper’s family turning 180 with their attitude. Nobody does that in a short time.
