    A car wash is that building you pull up in and put quarters in. Detailing is a whole different beast and man you can tell and smell the difference

    Thanks for the info Hunter i agree people get detail mixed up with car wash there's a huge difference a car wash is simple in and out vs detail when you actually get to know the vehicle in and outs and spend a little more time keep grinding bro from here on out i started mine 2 years ago i'm glad i took the leap and starting detailing. 2023 is the year to start growing and step out of your comfort zone.

    i give dealerships high prices just to not call me ever again, worst thing you can do is sign a contract don't do that either. don't give discounts, detailing is labor, you never give discount on labor but you can always give more.

    This was a great informing video. Personally I like giving my car a wash, when i have the time, especially weather dependent (here in England the weather changes dramatically, haha), but I accept there are certain aspects I can't do since my car is always parked outside. I don't have the comforts of having a big enough garage, so having it detailed, i.e maybe a single stage polish etc, Detailing is the way to go to get the job done which I can't do.
    I respect the good care into your work, as for overall detailers. Hats of to you guys out there.

    Thanks for your videos. I'm going legit part time April 1st and enjoy learning from your videos and watching your journey of learning as well. Would give one recommendation on not wearing button up shirts while detailing to prevent incidental scratches like when you were doing the windshield and leaning in. Keep up the grind and keep that content coming. God bless.

    90+% of customers just want their daily drivers washed and an interior vac. If anything, they'll take a wax job. I see many detailers that act like all their customers are into paint correction, but it's nothing but cap. The industry has grown big time over the past 3+ years with new detailers popping up daily. The industry is saturated with detailers so you have to figure out what separates you from the rest. Why should a customer hire you? Window tinting is a huge + to add, though that means more employees and can you handle that? The majority of detailers who fly solo quit after a couple years due to burn out, thinking they can create wealth, going solo. Having employees is what creates wealth

    • @stephen1503
      @stephen1503 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess that’s the difference. You’re targeting that last 10% who either really want a “perfect” exterior or have let their interior get so bad they need help.
      It is true though- there’s a lot of money to be made in: Wash + spray wax with an interior vacuum and wipe down with an interior QD. 1-2 hours not going after anything that needs more than a quick wipe. $50 an hour if you’re fast

    I am mobile detailer. I felt every word you said. That's my price.

  • @jonathanbladen7592
    @jonathanbladen7592 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hey Hunter. I expirienced a customer who was willing to pay the price, knew what detailing was, yet still wanted me to go fast. I'll admit being new, I do take way too long. But it was a strange feeling, cause he was happy to pay me the price, but hinted that I should be done. I felt as if I gave him a car wash for a detail price. Not complaining it just felt like the guy asked me to short him. That being said, maybe he didnt care cause it was his wifes car.
    Long story short, I felt upset cause the car wasn't up to my standards. I'm about my money, but it let me know doing a good job is what I want just as much as the money. The customer even wants me for another appointment. I guess i'll keep in mind what he wants for the next one and do my best.

      Just keep doing your thing man, don't let that feeling get in your head because that can also slow you down as well. Just focus on what your doing, some people are just like that, and done even realize it. Keep up the good work man!

      Man I feel ya. I think my regular wash n vac is practically a mini detail cuz I can't not go all the way. I just bought the biz from my mentor and he was admittedly too cheap. So now I'm trying to raise prices a little cuzyeah I'm slow too lol but I want to do an excellent job

    Great info hunter , I got a guy . I have set at a base price of 230.00 for a full deep detail. But he gives me multiple cars a month. I did a truck for him that took almost 6 hours. But regardless he's comes through with at least a couple cars a month. He started as one of the give me a good deal and I'll hook you up and I was just starting out and agreed and it's been worth it since.

    I know some people don't value a car wash that much to pay those prices. Its like me, I don't value going to a dealership and payin 150 200 dollars a hour to get my car repaired. So i take it to the neighborhood shop that charge 70 a hour or sometimes i do it myself. But then it maybe be something else i value more where price isn't as big as a concern to me. Now I like detailing but i would never pay those prices. 95% of people i've ran across say stuff like "ill let the rain wash it🤣. Just as long it crank up and get me to A to B then im good"
