I wouldn't mind if it had a PvE kind of play, maybe like an infinite dungeon delve where you just keep going deeper and deeper. Like if Barony and this combined.
There are currently some interesting differences between the weapons. Like, a mace would allow you to connect hits much faster than you would with a greatsword. The rogue blades allow you to land hits from behind and keep the enemy stun locked forever. But I totally agree that there has to be some kind of weapon damage VS enemy HP re-balancing. For example, I would love to see those armored knights become highly resistant to cutting weapons, but extremely weak to blunt weapons. It would also help if there was an HP bar appearing on top of the enemies once you start connecting with them, the way Dark Souls games are doing.
Hey Splatter! Thank you for covering the game! Im currently a discord mod for it and ive followed your channel for a bit so feels pretty awesome seeing this haha. Has anyone on the team mentioned anything about this? With other such games these peoples' requests fall on deaf ears, but hopefully one of these days someone will listen and tap into a larger market...
Well said. I would love to see Solo and Co-Op modes added to the game. Another thing that could be easily fixed would be to sync damage dealing with the actual animation for some of the enemies. Currently, the spear skeletons will hit you and deal damage during their windup/telegraphing state, which is not good. @@delphicdescant
Well, it looks far far better than Dark And Darker. The animations are a little slow in places, the shield bash hangs awkwardly and the sword swing is a tad too slow - but actually they've got the pacing down a lot better than most games that try to do this. A lot of animators don't bother with having the movement going through 'windup' / 'swing' / 'recovery' phrases, they just slow the entire animation down. Which has the exact opposite effect to conveying weight and impact. Dark and Darker just looked like you were having a sword fight in a dream. I pointed this out, and various people were like 'noooooo, it's realistic', to which I can only suggest that they have never swung a metal bar, let alone a sword, around. Enemies are a bit spongy. Not how the game works. To my knowledge in most of these extract. Games once the portal is used or the extraction is used it is done and you have to go look for a different one. There is no waiting turns there is only a fight over who gets to use the door. Because it’s a single used door
That’s probably the closest I have seen to a photorealistic 1st person dungeon crawler, but that enemy AI needs work. Those enemies didn’t look like they could point in your direction and attack most of the time.
I like the appearance and increased variety of classes, but I have to say it looks a bit... clunky's not quite the right word. Slow. Not just in terms of your movement, but the enemies, too. For instance - the goblins 'running' was something I just hated - they looked so weird. Attacking was a bit weird in terms of the enemies, because it also felt slow.
