I’ve watched several of your videos, you have awesome gear. This EVH looks better in your video that online pics. It’s always a bummer to have to sell something for home improvements, but necessary sometimes. I’m sure you will find another awesome guitar in the near future.
Thank you sir! I am always sad when I have to sell a guitar, but I know I am extremely lucky to own as many great guitars as I do. So I am not complaining. :) Thank you for your comment sir!
I too can vouch for the Wolfgang Standard. Once setup correctly, they are ridiculously easy to play. Eddie sure knew the secret to great playability. I also have the EVH Frankie and that too plays like a dream (albeit at twice the price).
I have this same guitar. WG Standard Exotic-Ziricote. Truth be told, the guitar arrived new with 9 high frets. I had to give it a fret job right out of the box. The Floyd Rose Special is junk and is made out of ZInc alloy casting. They wear out and the screw holes strip after a short while. I upgraded the Floyd also. This guitar is amazing now and is just as good as my WG Special.
I gotta say, after having this exact guitar and now having specials, the specials are better. The floyd special on the standard is shite. I would always break strings on it and it would always go outta tune. The frets were definitely not as polished as my specials. The specials seem to just have better qc overall. Also the toggle switch on my specials are stronger? The toggle on my standard was loose feeling and no resistance when switching pickups. I do miss the ziricote look though and the feel of the neck. The neck on the standards is in fact smaller than the specials. The specials has the same profile but it's a tad bit thicker than the standard unfortunately
The Standard is an awesome guitar! I have the Tahiti Night version and got it new for under $600 two years ago. Even at $700, it's a steal at that price. I'm guessing that you sold yours by now, and I did the same thing you did and bought it on the Friday of the week that EVH passed away.
Great question. I have seen a few of the EVH Koas in person and I believe they are a satin finish. I’m not sure why they chose satin for that one over gloss, but if you want gloss, there is something easy you can do. The satin finished guitars almost always use the same clear coat as the gloss guitars, they just are a thinner coat and are not polished. So you can use a good polishing cream and turn most satin finish guitars into gloss yourself. I did this to my PRS Koa guitar which started as a satin finish, and is now gloss. I have a video on my channel showing the process.
Not yet. I got a few offers I am mulling over, some want the case included, and others want it without the case. So I'm trying to decide whether I want to sell them separately or not.

That’s awesome! I love that color too. It’s a great memento.
I own that exact same guitar. I just do not have a case..
I bought my EVH bach in 2018 and I don't have EVH branded Floyd Rose(
Do you know if the Koa tops have the gloss finish like yours?? Thanks

Koa top doesn't have the gloss finish. It is supposed to be like sort of unfinished look. I have Koa top WG std and I love that guitar.
Do you have a link to this sale page? Reverb?
I sold it a couple months ago unfortunately. However, I sold it to someone I know, so maybe I'll buy it back someday :)
did it sell? what are you asking for it?

Who cares about pots, those can be changed in 10 minutes.
