I used to listen to Eyedea religiously. Most people who happened to be in my car shrugged him off. I thought I was all alone with my Eyedea love. Glad to see there are others who appreciate what an amazing artist he was.
"In ten years don't check for me, I'll be in the same place." Ten years after releasing this song, he was dead. It's so eerie to think about how someone can say or do something that almost makes you wonder if they've purposefully foreshadowed their own death. RIP Eyedea, trying to interpret his music is truly amazing.
Few songs are perfection from beginning to end, this song should be compared to a Michelangelo masterpiece painting because its construction is meticulous, emotional, and visceral.
I started listening to Eyedea when I was just turned sixteen and a ball of hormones and hate and confusion. His music, his lyricism and his pure and raw intellect channeled a feeling in me that I couldn't put into words. My life is not a mirror of his, but that gut feeling of disappointed, anger, violence and sadness reverberated with me in a way that made me calm. I'm 21, and I have lost a friend who saw me through hard times. I think we all have. Rest in peace, Micheal.
Fuckin FUCK. This guy was a GENIUS. The ability to express his feelings that well...how is this ANYTHING less valid than history or math or science? This kind of beauty is a fucking necessity. So fucking based.
If anyone dislikes this they have no soul. Eyedea gave everything he had into his music and now we can all benefit from his gift that he has left us all with. RIP to a legend. These lyrics are flawless.
After almost two years of absence fom school and many feelings that felt uncontrollable at the time i can safely say eyedea steered me through some very dark periods i'm thankful for his footprints in the sands of my conscience and hope he's resting peacefully up above...highly influential! R.I.P.
This is a god dam masterpeace, I can't even begin to explain the genius of this song. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this. What a great fucking man... I would give anything to smoke with eyedea and abilitys
R.I.P Eyedea; this song is proof that underground rappers are way to damn underated, this man had a unbielive mind filled with so much skill. I wish that i could have met this man to express my opinions, and get lyrical insight from him his music is and always will be incredible
First comment in over a year. I hope that people are still using this music. It has changed my life and Michael will forever be someone i strive to emulate
Honestly Eyedea was such a genius, but his death was such an unnecessary tragedy. what he had wrong is a result of what we all have wrong He was close to the answer, but without confirmation and a certain degree of reciprocation, even the best most beautiful people will succumb to depression in the uncertainty of life Yes, it would be nice to have everything one should want To know everything one should know. everything has it's consequence It's so sad that a gifted mind couldn't live in peace
i was going through a rough patch ,i thought it was over but looks like im wrong, so im it appears i will need your music now more then ever eydea. i hate the fact you're gone, but love that you were here and i can listen to you
@joshytheskater Most people are too shallow and stupid to understand. They live their lives based on image and surface interpretations rather than looking deeply into anything, so they could never relate to someone like Eyedea.
getting a 3/4 sleeve designed based on "stare into my eyes and see the hell that burns inside my mind and i no longer have an ego i can hide behind" when it's done i'll post the link to the ink
@ithereanyname Some of his songs show off his rapping prowess, and his flow. Others get into his head and tear and bite at your heart and mind because they're so deep in meaning.
What world is it we live in when a man with eyedeas who fights his fears incites arrears in this heat that sears each and every one of us leaving such an omnibus of thoughts on life that we can trust for state as musings not as 'musts' is forgotten by the populace half of them never knowing us our love of all his musics lust allowing dust to turn to dust when such a dustless bust is left to solace our disgust cant help but see this universe as villainous What world is it we live in.
@DroptheRockMovement Word, i've been doing that and I become sadder everyday lol, there was just so much in each of his songs it's unbelievable. Such an insightful artist I won't forget him.
@thecareerballoons that was me 5 years ago when my parents got divorced, i found out about all of the lies my father had told me and my mother. my girlfriend broke up with me and everything felt so shitty. the only person i could relate to was eyedea, and even that wasn't much. i just kept listening. then life gave me more than i ever thought it would. it gets better.
fuck the nwo! i know they fucked with your sleeping pills last year they make targets out of those they are afraid of, and those they just plain don't need anymore.. you're an inspiration!! you brought wisdom and intellect to hip-hop, were glorified for your dedication to acute skill, and you STILL had the humility + discipline to turn down evil intent when you could see that shit.. RIP mikey
"So fuck education for a decade and 3 years, Of headaches from my peers, Cause now I realize I could have learned more on my own, They taught me how to know everything except my soul, Which is everything I need to grow, Everything that keeps me whole, Everything that ever meant anything to Eyedea!" :')
@MrSpitz99 hey, glad to hear you got into real hiphop, Eyedea died Oct. 16 2010, from what i understand it was a complication with prescription medication
@Prossmeister this worked a hell of a lot better when split into lines :p breaks are at in/fears/sear/omnibus/trust/musts/populace/us/lust/dust2/disgust/villainous. split it if you'd care to read it. its to the beat of the song, it works in my head, its about how fucked it is that this mind is gone, and so few people ever knew it was here.
@Ibprius I think the problem is that most people that listen to rap dont listen closely to the lyrics or understand the art of rapping to appreciate it enough
@xCleverlyx Search "mediafire even shadows have shadows" on google and the download link is the first one. I understand we should get people to buy his albums legit instead of download but people only want this song on the album and the money from were from beyond doesn't go to his Mom I don't think.
An anthem for the alienated.

a dude once told me "eyedea didnt die...dudes just moved on to the next level" his mind was too great for us

"Welcome to the dusty subconscious of an actor/
Who murdered his childhood just to stop the audiences laughter..."
I'm speechless...
I still listen to this song everyday
Fuckin FUCK. This guy was a GENIUS. The ability to express his feelings that well...how is this ANYTHING less valid than history or math or science? This kind of beauty is a fucking necessity. So fucking based.
Including all genres, I have yet to find a song that has ever been able to express this feeling so precise in a lyrical format.
Every line hits home on a personal level, had to get the title tatted on the arm. R.EYE.P!!! Legends never die
One of the best to ever do it.
this song seamlessly binds its message to those of us who feel and experience exactly what he's saying
If anyone dislikes this they have no soul. Eyedea gave everything he had into his music and now we can all benefit from his gift that he has left us all with. RIP to a legend. These lyrics are flawless.
Probably one of the greatest mc's of all time. I remember seeing him at soundset. On another note....This is a crazily dark song.
Morbid *masochistic* torture that unfortunately crafted an interest to orbit my portrait and inflict my image with disorder...
Respect the lyrics.
God damn does this music pop out to me so much. eyedea was a lyrical artist like no other.
After almost two years of absence fom school and many feelings that felt uncontrollable at the time i can safely say eyedea steered me through some very dark periods i'm thankful for his footprints in the sands of my conscience and hope he's resting peacefully up above...highly influential! R.I.P.

i'm going to be so disapointed when i stop discovering new eyedea songs
Been listening to this for like 30 times in a row. Goes way deeper than just your eardrum. R.I.P. Eyedea.
What I wouldn't have given to sit and discuss life with this man.
R.I.P Eyedea; this song is proof that underground rappers are way to damn underated, this man had a unbielive mind filled with so much skill. I wish that i could have met this man to express my opinions, and get lyrical insight from him his music is and always will be incredible

Eyedea, you are my power. May you never be forgotten, Rest in Peace.
So much flow with so much sense. Eyedea.
These lyrics are so fuckin beautiful. RIP
Never realised how much i loved this guy's music til he was gone. peace Eyedea and spit rhymes with god for the rest of eternity.

I still come back to this song, must be due to me relating to it..
R.EYE.P
So delicate, so closed yet so open. R.I.P. Eyedea, the life of a genius is fleeting on a planet that cannot adapt to that.
Timeless & disgustingly awesome.
R.I.P. Michael "Eyedea" Larson
i was going through a rough patch ,i thought it was over but looks like im wrong, so im it appears i will need your music now more then ever eydea.

RIP EYEDEA Amazing one a kind mind!
@joshytheskater Most people are too shallow and stupid to understand. They live their lives based on image and surface interpretations rather than looking deeply into anything, so they could never relate to someone like Eyedea.
Eyedea, my idol - now you're at least not bound by any chains anymore. R.I.P.
