We do 25 books for Christmas for my son. Starting December 1 he will open one gift book a night and that’s what we read as his nighttime story. He’s been doing it since he was 1 and he’s 5 this year.
For the past several years, we have a gift called Poppy’s Gift. It is a way for our children to honor and remember their late father. Whoever draws this is given a gift of cash to help a person or persons in need. It can also be used to support a favorite charity. Everyone seems to enjoy this more than his/her own personal gifts. Their Poppy was a very caring and benevolent man, so the children love carrying on his tradition of helping others; and we feel that through this, he is still with us in spirit.❤️
Favorite tradition: I’ve given my boys a Christmas ornament each year that reflects them that year. A favorite character, a sport related one, a fire truck if they loved fire trucks. We put them on our tree and we go down memory lane! When they move out they’ll take their ornaments so they can hv decorations and memories for their own trees. BTW I hv the battery organizer and the strainer u showed. They’re both fantastic!
I live in NJ. Every year my sister and I go to NYC and do all fun and silly Christmas things like shopping at Bryant park, ice skating and finishing our day eating dinner in Little Italy!
I do a theme for my husband's Christmas gifts. He is just as hard to buy for as you can imagine. Last year he got three different bug zappers! This year we are giving each other new toilets, so his other gifts are bathroom organizers with suction cups that will stick on the mirror, wall, or shower wall. I always get him a really good book that he never reads. Ha! Christmas traditions!

I started a fun tradition in 2018 when I got engaged to my Canadian man. I decided we would get a new Christmas ornament each year representing something significant that happened that year. The first was a personalized ornament from Etsy about our engagement and our first ever Christmas together. This year we got married after nearly 3 years of separation while we waited for his Visa and I got a sweet little wedding cake ornament that looks a lot like our actual wedding cake. Our family tradition is to mess with my brother in law with zip ties🤣. Yup! It’s weird but so funny! It started a few years ago when he received a gift completely wrapped in zip ties. Each year after, whoever draws his name will be making his gift difficult to open using zip ties. One christmas tradition that I have a lot of fun with is a 'simple service'. It's such a crazy time of year and I can often find a reason to help a friend with a simple service. I may offer to gift wrap presents, fold baskets of laundry, or run errands if I know someone is overwhelmed prepping for the holidays. It is a fun way to get to see friends amd help them check items off their long list.
We always watch White Christmas together as a whole family, even the grandchildren enjoy the movie and the fact that it was a great grandparent favorite makes it more special!
One of our family traditions is every year (first it was just my husband and myself) now it’s my twin 22 yr old daughters, we have one special ornament that represents them. Their very first ornament at 8 months old was I did a stamp of their footprint and their handprint on muslin and then made on either side of a little homespun pillow and stitched their name and that year. Every year we decorate the tree together and reminisce about years passed and what they were into as little girls. It’s a cherished time and they both say they love our tree because it’s not just balls but cherished items from their childhood 🥰🎄
We celebrate our Christmas on Christmas Eve. We have a buffet. Every year we have meat balls, cheeses, fruits, and many other accoutrements. We also open presents. We've done this so our children can visit with other family on Christmas Day. Thanks for sharing your fabulous ideas.

When my kids were young, on Christmas Eve my late husband would sneak outside and ring doorbell. My kids would run to the door, and find two presents. Each gift was their Christmas pajamas, and a note from Santa saying he would be back later with their toys. They loved it. They are now 31 and 28 years old, and no longer live at home. My 28 year old son stays with me on Christmas Eve so I’m not alone. I still do the doorbell and pajama thing🤣He still loves it❤️❤️
A week or so before Christmas I would take my children to see Santa and go see a Chrstmas movie, then off to see the Chrstmas lights...when we got home the stockings were filled. not just with candy but with Christmas PJs, and slippers, hair bows and such everything Christmas to wear before. :) My mother did this when I was a child and it was one of my favorite memories, and my childrens as well!

One christmas tradition that I have a lot of fun with is a 'simple service'. It's such a crazy time of year and I can often find a reason to help a friend with a simple service. I may offer to gift wrap presents, fold baskets of laundry, or run errands if I know someone is overwhelmed prepping for the holidays. It is a fun way to get to see friends amd help them check items off their long list.

One of our family traditions is every year (first it was just my husband and myself) now it’s my twin 22 yr old daughters, we have one special ornament that represents them. Their very first ornament at 8 months old was I did a stamp of their footprint and their handprint on muslin and then made on either side of a little homespun pillow and stitched their name and that year. Every year we decorate the tree together and reminisce about years passed and what they were into as little girls. It’s a cherished time and they both say they love our tree because it’s not just balls but cherished items from their childhood 🥰🎄

We celebrate our Christmas on Christmas Eve. We have a buffet. Every year we have meat balls, cheeses, fruits, and many other accoutrements. We also open presents. We've done this so our children can visit with other family on Christmas Day. Thanks for sharing your fabulous ideas.

When my kids were young, on Christmas Eve my late husband would sneak outside and ring doorbell. My kids would run to the door, and find two presents. Each gift was their Christmas pajamas, and a note from Santa saying he would be back later with their toys. They loved it. They are now 31 and 28 years old, and no longer live at home. My 28 year old son stays with me on Christmas Eve so I’m not alone. I still do the doorbell and pajama thing🤣He still loves it❤️❤️

A week or so before Christmas I would take my children to see Santa and go see a Chrstmas movie, then off to see the Chrstmas lights...when we got home the stockings were filled. not just with candy but with Christmas PJs, and slippers, hair bows and such everything Christmas to wear before. :) My mother did this when I was a child and it was one of my favorite memories, and my childrens as well!
My favorite family tradition during the holidays is driving around with the family to look at light decorations in all the different neighborhoods. So so fun and something we look forward to every year. Love this video! There are some great finds in here ❤️❤️

Our favorite holiday tradition is the gumdrop tree! I thought ours was lost, so I was delighted to see they sell them on Amazon! It's fun to put red d green gum drops on the branches, then eat them when you pass by. It's great to use the multi-colored gum drops, too.

Our Mom and Dad have always given me and my sisters pajamas on Christmas Eve!!! We have continued this tradition as our families have grown! We’re very lucky that our whole family is together during Christmas and everyone in the family still gets pajamas on Christmas Eve 🎄🎄
We gather on Christmas Eve, the entire family, and do a dirty Santa gift exchange and then open all of our presents to each other. My son comes home from CA and my niece comes home from FL. Christmas tradition: chocolate house parties ! Like gingerbread houses but chocolate poured into molds to make the pieces then melted chocolate used fo glue it all together plus decorate with candy. Fun!
