The 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 is one tough truck. The ride though is remarkably refined. The Silverado is comfortable and quiet which has become a hallmark for GM. Out on the highway when you are up at cruising speed, the V-6 has cylinder deactivation which increases MPG while cruising on the highway. Performance wise you might forget this is just a V-6. The engine is a 4.3 liter V-6 making 305 horsepower. Fuel Economy is 18 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.

Picked up my 2015 4x4 2 weeks ago I got the v6 gota say feels like a v8 been getting 20+ mpg around town I love it.

Would love to see a mashup between the Ram with the Pentastar, the Silverado with the 4.3L and the F-150 with the 3.7L. I recently bought a 2013 Ram 1500 with the 3.6L and 8-speed, and it's no slouch.

i think the v6 is awesome, I'm still thinking of the mid range V8 though.
I really have my eye on the Silverado and would mostly use similar to him as weekend warrior chores. I know MPG really shouldn't be a main concern with with a truck but if I don't drive like a jackass then I should be able to do about 18 MPG?
What do the engine hours mean?
Most would prefer the 4.3 over the 3.6 soon to be offered in the new 2015 Colorado/Canyon. A fullsize is just too much $$ imho.

Weak numbers for 4.3L of displacement. Good MPG numbers. No mention of the ACTUAL 0-60 time. Is this guy having mini blackouts during the review? 32K is insane unless you can get some factor rebates.
Nobody pays sticker for these trucks, or if they do they are insane. I got my 2014 LT All Star Z71, a 42k truck for about 32k after all the rebates and the dealer giving a "sale price"
