------------------------------------------------------------------
"Classical Gas" is an instrumental musical piece composed ,and originally performed by American guitarist Mason Williams with instrumental backing by members of the Wrecking Crew
The song premiered in 1968 on an episode of Smoother Brothers' Show which made it one of first music videos ever made.
After recording the episode the host of the show, famously commented on the piece saying 'That's the most over-arranged piece of s--t I've ever heard.' to which he was told to leave. He was allowed back to the studio next day after admitting "I was wrong, the record is great".
Classical Gas won Grammy awards in 1969 for Best Instrumental Composition, Best Contemporary Pop Performance, Instrumental, and Best Instrumental Arrangement.
The song is sometimes erroneously thought to have been performed, or even composed, by Eric Clapton, since Clapton was the musical director of, and played much of the guitar music for, the feature film The Story of Us in which Williams' recording appeared.

Excellent! Almost note for note. Very nice.
Thanks Henry :)
Very nicely done. This was my dad's favorite song growing up, so I have seen and heard various versions of it by different artist. You do it proud.
Thanks Joseph. I appreciate it :)
Excellent
Excellent rendition 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍😎
Thanks Warren :)

Great cover. One of my favourite tunes done exceptionally well. Thank you.

1:57 = flying fingers! Bravo.
This song is what I was looking for 2 years ago! Thank you😭😭
Some tunes are timeless - until we pass on... this is one if them; Mason Williams low key stories about its construction are part of its charm
Very nice playing Bravo!
So Beautiful, thank you : )
Thanks
Nicely done.
It is a beautiful performance.
I applaud the great performance.
Thanks for the comment :)

Thank you David. I am mostly interested in combining flamenco and fingerstyle however occasionally I also try some classical pieces :)
Very good! Far for clear and articulate than most versions I've seen...Kudos!
Thanks Glenn :)
Most guitarist try of show off their speed with this song which I hate. This guy was perfect with the tempo. Just perfect. Love it.
Bravo Tomasz, nice Job
Thanks Zsolt :)
Great job
Thanks :)
I knew it was good, because its still playing in my head.

Bravo Tomasz.
Thank you :)
Really enjoyed this
Thank you Ally :)
Po nazwie podejrzewam, że Polak :) Super robota, po obejrzeniu Gambita Królowej też zacząłem się tego uczyć. Cudny utwór
Dzieki. Serial Gambit Krolowej swietny, podobnie zreszta jak i muzyka z calej serii. Powiedzenia w nauce :)
im learning this song now, very well done!
Thanks :) Good luck
Very nice Tomasz!!!
Thanks 👍
Cool
Прекрасно
Thanks :)
Very nice arrangement and excellent performance (nice pacing, not just do it as fast as possible 👌👍👏), can you post your tab for it, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ✌️✌️✌️
Thanks Rick :) I based the arrangement on this version: th-cam.com/video/iFESx95qjjY/w-d-xo.html ,and only slightly changed the chorus/bridge to match Mason Williams live performance.
Thanks so much, I'll try it out 👌👏👍✌
Why does that song always sound so short!
Grammy winning song from 1969.
Loved ever since hearing it first that year!
To those three that dislake this performance, I would like to ask you if your performance is better compared with this one. If it is, good for you; if not, well... do not dislike this performance. He does his best and for me is enough.
Hi man
Thanks for standing up for me : ) Tbh honest I don't mind a few dislikes, I chose to play this piece at precisely the same tempo as Mason Williams did during his famous TV performance from 1988, some people might be more familiar with slightly faster versions ,and might mistakenly think that I''m playing it slower out of laziness. Either way I'm quiet happy with the way the video turned out : )
@@Tomasz.Augustynowicz You did a great performance. Congrat's. Anybody that can play this masterpiece is a Master as well.
How long is your left pinky finger? 😳

You were great on fresh meat!
Thanks Julian :)
Didn't know Robb Stark plays the guitar
Excellent performance, but how come your face & eyes don’t move at all?
I'm looking at my tablet where the video with tabs is being played to make sure I don't rush/drag it :)
if you see Tommy Emanuel's version you would never figured out
Well I did not only see it but actually tried to play his version first ages ago and failed miserably ,it is a great showcase of Tommys acoustic skills but for me the original does simply sound better, once again music is not a race
missed it lie e is played twice
I'm not sure I understand, can you rephrase that?
Some covers are better than the original.
Great job, dude! 🤩
Thanks Kasper :))
Very nice playing Bravo!
