I was the Producer for all three Tri-ang, Tri-ang Hornby and Hornby Dublo productions. They were shot over three years in various UK locations and the product of extensive research. When released on VHS in numbered copies they sold very well. I still have an extensive file of complementary letters. They have not dated but they were shot in 4 : 3 and on a component Betacam format. They were later produced for the DVD market and sold extensively by mail order from ourselves. Of course I still have all the master tapes and edit master. Using the phone number on the sleeve, I still receive complementary calls and inquiries. If there were a significant number of inquiries, we may consider a further pressing. I hope you continue enjoying the productions....I certainly do! Mike Fowler

I was born in December 1952. The first present I can ever remember asking for, for Christmas and my birthday when I was 4 years old, was 'a big crane and lorry'. The crane I received, in December 1956, was very similar to the one shown at 2:42 in this video (though mine didn't have caterpillar tracks - just wheels, which I ended up taking off). Then, when I was a little older, for another Christmas I received a Triang TT train set. And I remember saving up my money to buy various extra items for it... so I guess my childhood time with train sets corresponded pretty much with the heyday of TT Gauge. Now in my 60s, I have model railways again - this time N Gauge, due to lack of space... the same reason I had TT Gauge as a child.

It is so sad to see all the people employed at the factory and then to see it empty.

I got my brother's small Triang layout around the age of 7 and recognize some of the items in the video clips. It was added to over the years but foolishly sold/swapped it in '68. Maybe a model fair will present itself soon..😗

I recently sold a Tri-ang real estate number 6 hardware store.
Boxed, complete and un-assembled, I got a good price for it on the bay.

I’ve got the trilogy of dvds . Really great . Takes me right back to the days when the Triang Hornby catalogue was seldom far from my side.

And waiting each year for the new catalogue to come out. I remember when they moved from the simple cover to the Terence Cuneo artwork. What I cannot explain is the excitement of looking over all those new and old offerings.

@@smitajky the new catalogues are very professional but are boring and bland to me . Maybe it’s an age thing, but the old catalogues generated excitement .

TT 1/120 making a comeback from Hornby in the past six months or so.
An A3 and A4 Pacific as well as an 08 diesel shunter so far with more getting close to production.
Coaches, goods wagons, sets and track also available now.
      Hornby surprised everyone with these.

Interesting video! I thought the statement at the start about trains over women is not surprising coming from a Foamer!
