    Very informative video. New saltwater fisherman here of 6 months. I struggle alot sometimes catching like you do, but these kind of videos help me. I've been strictly using gulp lures but after watching you fish I definitely need to diversify. Good luck and thanks for your knowledge.

      Thanks man I appreciate it! Gulp is definitely a good bait to go out there and get a few bites. Heck I thrown gulp from time to time myself but there are far better lures out there for certain situations. Feel free to message me on our Facebook page with any questions you have on any topics you need help with.

    Will redfish still push up into those shallow creeks in the middle of summer with high water temps?

    • @southernsalt
      @southernsalt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They will push into the deeper ones with good water movement

    Great tips!! I totally agree. I still can't read the tides. But i can read target points, tails, blow ups... I find reds by them giving themselves away. I'm still trying to learn tides. Not a single tide app is ever close. I know the tide buoys are miles away and are going to off a few hours. But sometimes they are not easy to figure out. I just go fishing and look for signs of fish. Of course I can tell by the water level and current what the tide is doing once i get out there. Thanks for the video !!

    Great video man, I've studied that exact secret, not secret marsh to many times. Caught some solid reds out of it also.

      It’s a dang good system that most boats can’t get into loaded reds that don’t get pressured.

    This is my first year inshore fishing. I've pushed into the mouths of these shallow creeks and not found anything and returned to the main bayou. Next high tide I'll try pushing to the backs of these creeks. Hope I find what you're describing.

    Do you find it better to retrieve your lure with the current, or against it? I usually retrieve with the current because that is the direction I believe the Reds are facing while waiting to ambush. Thoughts?

    • @southernsalt
      @southernsalt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I absolutely agree with that. Sometimes it’s not always possible to do especially in these creeks but yeah I think your spot on

  • @AmyChrisDramer

    great vid. Can you get a bay boat into those kind of spots or are they only accessible by kayak?

    • @southernsalt
      @southernsalt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s possible but I definitely wouldnt do it unless it was the peak of a high tide and I definitely wouldn’t stay long lol you might be spending the night if you do 😂
