      @FNGacademy I would be greatful to hear your commentary reaction to the vita video “Combat Controller John Chapman’s Medal of Honor drone footage (first ever recorded Medal of Honor actions and qualified for TWO Medals of Honor) the video was put together by a veteran combat controller and the author of “Alone at Dawn” a book about this mission & Chapman and a percentage of the proceeds go to Chapman’s widow and daughters so it promotes an amazing cause while also bringing more awareness to what our Special Operations War fighters are capable of in selflessness, sheer drive , determination and skill. If this hadn’t been caught on drone footage , no one would believe if happened or that a soldier could sustain 16 bullet and shrapnel wounds & continue the assault to save 24 of his brothers in arms. I’m sad it doesn’t give quick background to the SEAL they are trying to rescue being their Teamate that fell from their Chinook after a rocket attack , thst the helo crashed and the Team down 1 organized a ride back into the killbox to try to rescue their teamate. Truly super human determination and skill!
      I know this is difficult for combat Veterans especially and have really appreciated the number of Spec Ops and military Veteran Channels reacting to the video tho difficult. Getting this out to more and more people is showing SO many people worldwide what caliber of war fighters Americans can be & how selfless. Would also love to hear your commentary on what’s going on, maneuvers , thoughts on different choices being made etc. 2 Green Berets thoughts. Savage Actual Spec Ops channel just reacted to it SWCC/MARSOC bros. Thanks for reading.

    Just realized that buck is basically training future potential green berets lol basically even after the army he is indirectly effecting SF candidates by making them more mentally and physically prepared to become green berets… he is practicing the fundamentals of teaching as a green beret without even being in the army anymore hats off to you!! Love your channel.

      Personally, I would put it off for a year. I was at Bragg from '09-'15. Since you're at Bragg already, you're already ahead of the ballgame (A LOT of people come to Bragg and have NEVER felt THAT kind of heat and HUMIDITY)!! YOU know what the weather is going to be like and you know that you're going to have to deal with the heat, humidity, ticks, poison ivy/oak, "draw monsters" and (EVEN MORE HATED), the "wait-a-minute vines"!! Do as much land nav as you can...on your own (not just with your unit) in both the summer AND winter. I would disagree a bit with Buck. At Bragg, there is a HUGE difference between the summer and winter. You can SEE land nav points from 100+ meters away in the winter time and it's MUCH easier to do! Yes, you have to pack your "snivel gear", BUT it's NC, NOT NH! (lol). NC has some BAD winter storms BUT they are there are gone and DON'T last for WEEKS at a time and dump FEET of snow. HOWEVER, like he said, that's not going to help you at NIGHT, so make sure that your land nav skills are BEYOND good! Good luck...

    Having spent the last few years dealing with NC summers, I'd rather spend a NC winter running around naked than running down a road in full kit with a 50lb ruck in the middle of summer. Potentially doing SERE in New England during the winter is a different story, but that's my home turf anyway.

    They’re this Tier 1 spec ops unit that mainly focuses on counterterrorism and hostage rescue. These troops are the most elite soldiers in the Canadian Army. It’s said that they’re the Canadian version of the SEALs and that they “often train with Navy SEALs and Delta Force”.

    I would take summer. I can deal with heat a lot better. Cold can be far more dangerous and don't assume dehydration is a summer only issue. As far as land navigation, I can't say which would be harder. Depends on if you are just finding points or navigating with an OPFOR. I grew up in the woods so terrain association comes natural and I don't lose my bearings. Learn species of trees from leaves to bark. Practice noting oddities. Storm damage. A squirrel nest in a fork on a oak tree etc. I ,personally, loved land nav. I felt at home and 100% confident.

    • @thelmadickinson6811
      @thelmadickinson6811 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of land nav is at night, in the dark. My soldier went in June. They began about 7/8 pm and went through the night. You read your map by red light. That’s your only light and you don’t walk around with it on.
      Those that make it to team week, reveals a lot about oneself. It’s designed to break you and see how good a team member and leader you are when you’re broken, tired, hungry, sleep deprived, have complex problems to solve, your arms are swollen twice their normal size, you have itchy heat rash everywhere because you chose to use that extra 30 min to sleep instead of shower.

    Hello Buck, quick question:
    Am I going to be able to apply for SFAS if I served for 1 year in the U.S. Army, and I have US citizenship?
    Thanks

    I went in the winter. SFAS 03-19. No I didn't make it. Winter SUCKED. Had a dude get frost bite on all his toes. Had to get flown to Womack. He’s a badass Ranger now. Don’t feel bad for him. Punching the tarp in the morning and having ice fall on your face also wasn’t fun. Still want to go back tho.... but not in the winter. lol

    @FNGacademy I wanted to ask a special reaction request of you & your crew if not too painful. I’ve noticed the Spec Ops Veteran channels have been bringing awareness to & reacting to the Viral drone footage of USAF Combat Controller John Chapman’s actions (just a fraction of his actions) that earned him the Medal of Honor (the first ever recorded footage of the actions that earned them) while attached to a SEAL Team in Afghanistan.
    The other Spec Ops channels (Savage Actual, a number of British Spec Ops & Royal Marine Commando channels like GenDit, other Combat Veteran channels like Combat Arms, lone Human, Jameson Travels, the Estonian Soldier, Funker, blastcap badger, as well as a ton of military active and veteran channels from allied militaries & even Chinese, Russian & North Korean veterans defectors military channels have been reacting to it to bring awareness to this act of heroism & get out to TH-cam viewers what our Spec Ops are selflessly SO capable of & the type of heroic events that happen in these conflicts.
    reacting to it I know is very difficult for Veterans , especially combat Vets & Spec Ops but What a way to reach so many!
    I was SHOCKED actuslly seeing this pre-assault that went from a night mountaintop insertion to a rocket attack and loosing their Teamate out the back of the Chinook, controlled crash, immediate rescue mission via same pilot piloting the rescue Chinook, to insert & assault in about the worst scenario possible, to casualties , turned 1 man stand against 24 Uzbek & Chechen mercenaries , 16 bullet & shrapnel wounds , hand to hand combat, continuing the fight to save his retreating team & the inbound QRF saving 24 American war fighters lives. The viral video put together by veteran combat controller was to make aware & promote his book on John Chapman’s life and this operation BUT the book sales ALSO benefit Chapman’s widow & daughters & it’s also got an A list Hollywood movie in the making about this unreal footage we are able to see of his beyond super human heart & drive. He qualified for TWO Medals of Honor BUT 1 of them was protested & blocked by Hillary Clinton & her yes men (another Benghazi like disgusting moment). But like 13 hours she hoped it’d never get out, this too was declassified after over 15 years & his amazing actions have been seen & her disgraceful offensive decision is becoming known but more importantly we can see something truly superhuman, something no one would believe if this footage didn’t exist. I’m greatful a movie is being made because it deserves it and Honors the 7 US Spec Ops legends who lost their lives that day.
    I know everyone would appreciate your input & commentary on this unreal video! I’ve watched EVERY reaction to the video on all of TH-cam, all of the foreign war fighters videos as well & it’s SO touching to see such heartfelt responses and often tears from war fighters from around the world, friendly nations and near peer threat nations. The movie bieng made will surely spike more reactions but hope IF it’s something you feel ok doing , that you’ll consider it if not too emotionally difficult.
