In Hell's Kitchen, two teams compete for the prestigious job of head chef at a top restaurant, all under the guidance of world-class fiery chef Gordon Ramsay.
The fact that Justin was able to score a perfect 4 on the Blind Taste Test after having a bunch of chicken wings in the eating contest is incredible.
Brian going 3 for 4 too after eating those wings. Brian and Justin carried this challenge

Man, Brian and Justin carried the Blue Team so hard in this challenge. And kudos to Justin, 4/4 is an incredible performance.
Also, add that they both ate spicy chicken wings right before this challenge. That kills your palette for a while.

Dana accusing Justin of cheating reminded me of Vinnie accusing Bonnie of doing the exact same thing back in Season 3

@@Slytherin1 I believe that was before the blind taste test started because once Gordon started to speak, she abruptly informed him he was still audible. After that little incident, Vinnie raised some suspicion toward’s Bonnie regarding her capabilities of getting the ingredients correctly which would lead to the Red team winning. Hell, before the women left to pursue their rewards. He confronted Bonnie about it and asked if she did cheat to which she declined.

I find it strange that Gordon announces it. Even if the headphones have music playing, by not saying it out loud, it removes that opportunity for cheating
And it doesn't add anything to the drama. I would say just the opposite. Let them both say chicken and the others have no idea whether they or right or wrong, and then he says it's lamb. Or they both say something different and the others have no idea which one is right until told. If they think it's important for the home audience to know they can flash it on the screen.

That's something you'll hear from Robyn, but from Dana really? How pathetic and sad.
The way they do this is part of what makes it so difficult. When you deprive multiple senses like that, it really screws up the brain's ability to process input correctly. If they put it in their mouths then took off the blind fold and headphones, they would likely have a much higher chance of success.
I like how for the sweet potato they could guess foods that were the same color without seeing it haha
How can they not hear him when he says 'lamb' but they can clearly hear him when he says 'open' in pretty much the same volume lol (0:15).
Its a little offscreen but he taps their hands whenever he wants them to open their mouths or answer

The first two contestants remind me of the people on Family Feud that will guess the most obscure thing possible instead of the most obvious.

If anyone has tried a food blindfolded or taken a sip of something you thought was something else, it’s a real trip haha took a sip of flat sprite once. Thought it was water and almost spit it out everywhere. Context really makes food better

not really. cause those are Bose Studio Noise cancelling head phones and they litterally have the ability to make you to hear nothing. i should know, i own a pair. best 450 bucks i ever spent. also those blind folds are at least 8 layers thick with at least 650 to 1250 threating. lastly really defined and highly trained pallets can ACTUALLY pick up obscure flavors like Sunchokes, scallops and lamb.

Honestly I would probably equally as confused and lost if I had to taste stuff blind but at the same time... im not a dang chef lol
lol, when you are wearing headphones the food tastes different, like it's not so vibrant, dont know how to express it but try to eat something with and without headphones and you will get why some chefs didn't get the right answers. maybe it is because the ear is conversely connected to the nasopharyngeal cavity through the eustachian tube and we can not smell the food as good as when without headphones. Try to taste something while covering your nose and you will gate the ide that taste is 80% based on smell.

Not cheating these shows are scripted. Ask yourself why did he answer first every time until the last one. They where at a tie and the drama was there so he answered last to make it exciting. All staged for your entertainment.

Why did they change who answers first in the last test with the sunchoke? Looks too scripted, atleast make it look more realistic.
