My parents 50th Anniversary was in April. Party was cancelled & the family cruise to Europe in August also cancelled. Rescheduled for May 2021, but with the new lockdowns over there, who knows. Sorry about Notre Dame. Got to see it in Oct 2017 & consider myself so lucky.
The vaccine won't be available until at least the middle to late (June-December) 2021 and enough people won't get it for at least a couple months after the first doses are given... so. I wouldn't count on Paris in June next year being possible. Sorry.

This is the best written SNL skit I can remember seeing (not to short change the acting, which was also great). What a great concept! Sometimes, skits will have a great concept, and a really funny opening minute or two but then the second half will just drag along (the cold opens often suffer from this) but this was fantastic from beginning to end - and with a hilarious ending line. So well done.

I understand why everybody wants more of it, but I'm not sure it would work. The whole joke hangs from two hooks (a) us realizing at the last minute that future for the characters is past for us and (b) us going through this huge worldwide thing that none of us knew was coming. Maybe, maybe if they did like The War in Words and had a different time period, but I think even then it wouldn't hit the same as this time, when we saw neither the sketch nor the pandemic coming.

You should be pleased to know that recent studies have not found any indication of transmission by packages/products yet. The main methods are still aerosolised virus and droplets. The remnants of virus found on packages, surfaces etc were not able to be cultured (replicated) in lab. Early studies examined how long the virus survives in pristine lab conditions, not in regular environment with moisture, air, sunlight etc where it dies off quickly.

This is the best written SNL skit I can remember seeing (not to short change the acting, which was also great). What a great concept!
Sometimes, skits will have a great concept, and a really funny opening minute or two but then the second half will just drag along (the cold opens often suffer from this) but this was fantastic from beginning to end - and with a hilarious ending line. So well done.

@@hihi-ug1fc The US postmaster general, Louis DeJoy, was appointed by Trump (b/c he gave Trump a lot of campaign $$$) and basically DeJoy decided to implement a bunch of "cost-saving" mechanisms that shut down mail-sorting machines and removed USPS mailboxes around the country. This caused mail delays/chaos and whatnot, with an election depending on vote-by-mail just around the corner (hmmmmmmmm seems legit) and Trump wouldn't give the post office (a govt agency like the FBI, HUD, CIA or DHS) enough funding. This resulted in people buying more stamps (which help fund the post office) to keep it going out of spite towards DeJoy.

I understand why everybody wants more of it, but I'm not sure it would work. The whole joke hangs from two hooks (a) us realizing at the last minute that future for the characters is past for us and (b) us going through this huge worldwide thing that none of us knew was coming. Maybe, maybe if they did like The War in Words and had a different time period, but I think even then it wouldn't hit the same as this time, when we saw neither the sketch nor the pandemic coming.
I love the way Kate's accents come and go! I've watched this so many times, it always cracks me up

You should be pleased to know that recent studies have not found any indication of transmission by packages/products yet. The main methods are still aerosolised virus and droplets. The remnants of virus found on packages, surfaces etc were not able to be cultured (replicated) in lab. Early studies examined how long the virus survives in pristine lab conditions, not in regular environment with moisture, air, sunlight etc where it dies off quickly.

@@Pati1989 because the postmaster general is one of those jobs most of the general public doesn't know who that person is. This year's postmaster general was a big time donor to the president's campaign and had no experience in running a government agency. Add on top of that the president constantly talking about voter fraud during an election year. All sorts of shenanigans that don't make sense, is what's so funny and not funny at the same time.
@@Pati1989 the trump administration has been attacking the us postal office, especially due to the prevalence of mail-in ballots this election (which trump claims could cause mass voter fraud, although that claim has been proven to be entirely baseless) there's a lot of shit happening with the mail and the election in america and we are all slowly slipping into fascism but it's fine :)
