Dang, you keep a lot in there, that’s awesome. Tbh I was waiting for you to pull out a rabbit too 😆 nice kit man. I just got a DPC it doesn’t have the pocket but I may add one for a kit. Great vid.
Quite nice. I'll do myself one. I would add a credit card size fresnel magnifier, sewing needle, some fish hooks and a bit of line for sewing and fishing.
That's possible for sure. However, there's an inevitable trade off between comfort and practicality. The more waterproof items you put in there, the sweatier your head will get? Each to their own though my friend. ATB, Des
As you know, Des, I am a big fan of a hat. The kit you keep in yours is very handy. If it wasn't for the ventilation you could probably collect water in it ( I'll have to send you some of my XXL condoms ; ¬ ) ).
Hi Adi. I did think of you when I was mulling stuff over with the hat. Regarding the XXL's - if you've got some spare ones plse post to me - unfortunately, I don't have a need for them . Take care mate, Des
Question: I’m not really looking for a hat that looks like leather but do want something with a bit more weather protection. I’ve already got the T5mo for summer and looking at the T5 cotton duck or the outback for fall and cooler weather but can’t make up my mind... what do you think?
Hi there and apologies for the delay in responding. I can only comment on the Outback as it's the only one I'm familiar with. In cooler weather it will be great but it definitely is not waterproof. It will be OK for light showers but will saturate in a downpour. In winter I personally need something warmer as I am practically bald and shave my hair back to the scalp. I therefore go for something like a beanie. Not sure how much this helps my friend. Best wishes, Des
I wonder if Mrs 21st Century Caveman tunes in and spots hubby playing with a condom in the back garden 😎🤭 lol. A great idea Des re the Tilly hat survival kit 😊👍
Clever idea! You don't know what's gonna happen in outback, would you? One item I'd dare suggest is a titanium multitool card, which may replace your box cutter blade. 🏞🏕👍
My husband has had his Tilley hat for over 10 years. He absolutely adores it. Never thought of incorporating a survival kit there. Thank you.
My pleasure. Have a great day where you are. Des
Nice idea! I would skip the ferro rod and add a small Bic lighter instead. I want more assurance of getting a fire “first time, every time.”
Hi there. I can understand that entirely. Great idea. Des

Ha, ha. Thanks for watching mate. Appreciate your feedback. Happy Xmas, Des
Not a prepper or survivalist....carrys prept survival kit in hat!!!
Love it.
Lol. One of my favourite hobbies - messing around in the woods. The perfect place to escape society (and responsibility - well almost!). ATB, Des

Sounds good my friend. You won't go wrong there at all. Thanks for dropping by. Des
Brilliant kit! I would wonder if you can add enough foil or another lining material that you could use to make your hat a container for water?

I keep some lock picks in mine, since I'm a locksmith

Thanks for the response! I ordered the cotton duck T5. Maybe I’ll get the outback for my next hat.
The only thing I keep in my Tilley is a spare twenty quid encase I run out of money for a pint and pub lunch!!
Sounds like the perfect survival kit to me! Lol. Best, Des
@@21stcenturycaveman33 probably won't be as good in a real emergency lol
Subbed from Prepper Potpourri's recommendation!
