    As someone who has experienced gaining 3" on the femurs; I can assure you, gaining 3-5" of new height will be quite dramatic and plenty of overall growth. You will be shocked to see just what a significant difference being 3" taller makes; it's a different planet. You never want to sacrifice functionality for height... meaning, don't push it. If you successfully gain 3-5" in height - stop and be grateful. Significant (potentially permanent) danger increases dramatically if you try to go past these numbers; there are safe guards put into place for a reason. God Bless.

      @@AriAriAriAriAriAriariariarihuj 8cm on the femurs. 5cm on the tibia & fibula. Those are the limits; anything beyond those numbers is unsafe. Be cautious of a surgeon who promises you more length than this; it's very dangerous and unwise.

    *Question for Victor*
    Why don't people who grow naturally, have such problems with soft tissue/tightness etc?
    E.g teen in puberty may grow in a 10-12cm a year...without such side effects.
    Is the reason because;
    - 3-4 inches need a year of growth so soft tissue can catch up?
    - there's a spike in HGH/Testosterone which helps them..e.g longitudinal muscle growth
    - since their leg isn't broken...they're using it daily and it does not go into muscle hypotrophy (breaking down/loosing muscle mass), while people do go into hypertrophy during LL surgery..and for some reason weaker muscle getting tighter?
    Or a bit of everything lol?

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah like they said most kids have more pliable tissue and can get away with more than adults. Natural growth via genetics is kind of like notifying all tissues are going for a ride so they go along with the plan because they "know" they're gonna be growing - programmed to grow. Whereas with lengthening, you go to sleep, wake up with broken legs and soft tissues are are eventually "forced to grow". They still cooperate and do grow new tissue but it's a much more arduous event and PT/stretching is a way to ease things

      Hmmm I would say that 6cm might have been a bit much but you can gradually stretch it out and get ROM back depending on how bad it is

  • @GeneralGreevas
    @GeneralGreevas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't believe in overlengthening, only in insufficient physio. If you put your leg into a stretched position for 12 hours every day your soft tissues WILL grow weather they like it or not. Same goes for bone, just look at how women f-up their feet with pointy high heels.

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what you're saying due to fiber splitting and hyperplasia due to eccentric loading from lengthening but there are limits to what you're body can handle within a certain amount of time. Plus the anchor points (tendons) etc. are super resistant to lengthening. I would say within a single lengthening tightness is expected...overly excessive contractures not so much

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah you could possibly do that (13cm over two surgeries spaced out) and should be fine because 3cm difference isn't bad at all

      @visakh murali It's possible. There was a German interviewee on this channel that was 174 cm and got 10.8 cm (practically 11 cm!) to get to 184.8 cm. Still I would be cautious about getting that much cm in 1 surgery. Do as much research as you can about that. Best of luck to you. I myself am 179.9 cm (already tall tbh lol), would love to be 183.9 cm (like my favorite wrestler John Cena) or 187.2 cm.
