I have some advice for people looking to get into online roleplay (since Pocars mentioned it): - Brush up on some grammar skills, maybe read a few books or fanfics to see how people structure their sentences to tell a story - Consent is key! If you want to add something new once things are going along, remove something, retcon or rewrite something, etc. just make sure you discuss it with whoever you're RPing with first - ERP (Erotic Roleplay) is a thing, but it's not the only kind of RP out there - If someone doesn't feel like RPing with you, don't take it personally. They could be really busy or just want to do something else like play a videogame or just chat and most importantly - RP/ERP =/= dating. Seriously, it's important that I say this because I've seen people lacking in social skills/cues treat RP like this. It's a shared activity between two or more people, not a relationship. Now, people IN relationships can RP, but RPs aren't relationships by themselves
Dante Munn agreed! To add on, in rp it is also a big no no to do something harsh to the other person’s character without their permission. Like there are some instances where one may mildly injure the other in an event both went into willingly (like a fight per say)- that’s okay- but nearly killing the other person’s character or just doing anything drastic isn’t cool. In that sort of situation it’s ok to say no. It’s also ok to speak up if you don’t like the way the rp is going- I’ve had to do this a few times. It’s also ok to discuss events beforehand. Remember, it’s all collaborative and is supposed to be fun- so make sure it’s fun and cool for the both (or more) of you. :)
I think this video is extremely important, especially for young furs or newcomers to the fandom. You don't need a suit to be a furry & there are lots of ways you can be a part of and contribute to the furry fandom without a suit. :)

Awesome point Pocari. Yanno at first, I am one of these furies that do not want to go to any convention without a fursuit. Because I want to be seen at Bruzo and not my human form. But nowadays when I am at cons now, I spent some time at con spaces as happy as in suit as I want to hang with my friends and other furries there. Also do you know that I too started making TH-cam vlog videos completely in my human form. It seems crappy at first but there is my contribution to the furry fandom that I cringe over but I consider good. And seeing that I'm an argonian, I do roleplay as my fursona through Elder Scrolls online. Another thing even though it can be considered as weird and what not I think you could do is perform at the con space as your fursona and pretend that your human form is your fursuit or disguise and underneath, you could be a fluffball any animal you want to be.
I'm not sure how people do so well in this fandom. I do what I feel like is my best everyday, and it's never really gotten me much of anywhere. I can go entire days without a single message from anyone, and despite my best efforts to engage with people or be interesting in anyway it never works out. I guess I'm just a really unlikable sort of person. ^^" I used to do writing in this fandom, but it felt so empty for me after awhile. I don't recommend using markers on eyes, or on anything in fursuit, because if/when you sweat, they will just spread everywhere and stain your suit, if they are not water proof, but even if they were, i wouldn't recommend using markers. And what comes to not having materials - then you just have to wait to get more money, don't make shortcuts, it usually doesn't work. I know it's frustrating to wait longer, but fursuits aren't things you should make in rush, because that could turn out- well. Not as good as it could've been. (Also, balaclava isn't required, BUT it's still better to have it, try to find cheaper one, you don't really need expensive balaclava, just one that fits you and feels nice.)
my personal favorite things to do are: write stories OR just create stories but not write them down. and also draw. but mostly create overly complex worlds to place my characters in that make in nigh-impossible to roleplay or interact with other peoples characters or even my own from diffrent worlds...

I still have the app, and I think servers are less full now. If you have a 4 legged character, it can be a great way to chat with others and build up your character's personality.
Great vid, as always! I would like to add that, along with art, there are plenty of furry crafters as well. I can't draw to save my life, but I crochet dolls as a hobby. There are also plenty of furs that sculpt, knit, sew, and every other crafting hobby you can think of. Just wanted to add this!

Another furry (kinda) roleplaying game is Feralheart! It's a free MMORPG where you can pick from a canine or feline character model and design from there! There are lots of mods and item/marking packs and stuff for the game that allow you more freedom with designing your character, and player-made maps that you can play on (all free!!!). I've even seen emote packs that change the motions your characters can do! The only iffy thing about Feralheart is the restriction to canine and feline models (though honestly, most of the time you can work around them pretty easily and you wont even notice!) and the registration window opens at random times, so it can be hard to catch it at the right time to make an account. Other than that though, it's a great, fun game with a decent-sized community and friendly moderators, and its very easy to find roleplays there or even just make friends. I highly recommend it.
One thing I love doing is painting littlest pet shops! It doesn’t take to much skill because you don’t need to shade, and you can add clay to alter the shape!

I identify as a furry and it's really fun! I do want a fursuit, but there's three main drawbacks stopping me. 1. My family would be so weirded out. Especially my dad, because I'm still fairly young. :,D 2. I'm afraid I'll have heatstroke. I heat up pretty easily let alone in a fursuit. The head covered in fur, the paws and legs, all that. 3. It's way too expensive for me to afford. I want a partial fursuit, and even that's around 1,000 dollars. >:,D
I use a site called PonyTown for a lot of my roleplaying. It's not technically a furry-related site, it's more for bronies, but to be completely honest I see dogs, wolves, and other animals on there all the time. Heck, paws are even a customization option! VuV There aren't as many proper furries on there, but I see them on occasion! Hearing about Furcadia sure takes me back. Sad thing is that I can't remember my login info for it- heck I can't even remember the email I used to sign up with. All I really remember of it was I had no real idea what to do on it, I mostly just walked around places and didn't really do much. Also use to RP, not so much anymore though I may do the occasional astricks actions thing here and there (can't do it here cause YT will format it to bold text), but I generally don't do it anymore.
How to go to a con without a suit? Just go. You won't be bouncing around in a portable oven with an endless thirst which grows faster than Fortnite's publicity, so be grateful. And, if you want to do it in normal stuff, just watch Zootopia or Robin Hood for the 9001st time, IDK
hotspots for roleplays (information from someone who roleplays every day of the week and has for years now (me :T)) 1:discord servers 2:discord dms, (i recommend finding a roleplayer and ask to rp dm its just easier that way) 3:roleplay games, i dont mean rpgs, no i mean hardcore legitimate roleplay games, granted they are hard to find but there is always roblox as an alternative tips to make rps more fun: use pictures in the roleplay, it gives it a more surreal feeling listen to music accommodating the mood you want the rp to carry, it really helps with the flow and be ready for sleepless nights of regret for making that decision instead of the other one causing your character to end up in a fight instead of a peaceful ending for the night(if this sounds ultra specific... i dunno why,) (also checking out toyhouse now) (and if you dont believe me when i say discord dms are better than servers, on a server one week is the best you have for an rp assuming the trolls arent too bad, in discord dms ive had an over 1 year long consecutive story going on with a friend, 1 entire year worth the roleplay, then if you REALLY wanna knock it up a level, make a book out of it, thats what me and my rp partner are doing we take our past roleplay adventures and toss them in to books online) and no. i never shut up, are you tired of reading yet? yes? no? i cant read you mind, SHEESH (jk i hope you all have a bunnderfull day ^w^)
One place I hear a lot of people Roleplaying these days is Discord, though I don't know of any furry specific ones. Just roleplay in general is done on Discord these days... Unless your me and have bad interwebs and can't use it.

Honestly what I can say is just be you! Just watch videos and movoes and rp and just make a oc! If you can't draw and try to practice and commission it! My oc was made by my bff and it's my pfp and I rp and draw her all the time! Just be you!
I'm a furry without a fursuit. What I do is buy plushies of animals and characters i/the fandom like. Also,book series popular with Furries. I have an absolutely adorable plushie of cub Simba from the Lion King, that I just got two day ago. I also do art of my sona(s)/random furries. Also furry youtubers.
I am currently in photography class and I absolutely love it. It is really hard though because of ISO and Shutter speed and other stuff. I want to start using SLR but it's so difficult and expensive and I'm broke asf.

I have a suggestion for roleplay furry games. I suggest ROBLOX. Yeah, there are a lot of bad games on there, but if you search there are some amazingly well done RP games that makes you able to play as an animal! Here are some games you should search for; Feather Family, Warrior Cats, Wolves of chasma, Wolves' Life, Cat's Life, Dragon's Life! Warrior cats, Wolves of chasma, and Dragon's life are the best games if you want to really roleplay with well crafted grammar. Trust me, it truly is amazing. There's also a game that's called Crossed Paws, but you might get a lot of unfair roleplays there so I didn't add it in the list. Try them out! They're very realistic and the makers worked very hard on them!

Another furry (kinda) roleplaying game is Feralheart! It's a free MMORPG where you can pick from a canine or feline character model and design from there! There are lots of mods and item/marking packs and stuff for the game that allow you more freedom with designing your character, and player-made maps that you can play on (all free!!!). I've even seen emote packs that change the motions your characters can do! The only iffy thing about Feralheart is the restriction to canine and feline models (though honestly, most of the time you can work around them pretty easily and you wont even notice!) and the registration window opens at random times, so it can be hard to catch it at the right time to make an account. Other than that though, it's a great, fun game with a decent-sized community and friendly moderators, and its very easy to find roleplays there or even just make friends. I highly recommend it.

One thing I love doing is painting littlest pet shops! It doesn’t take to much skill because you don’t need to shade, and you can add clay to alter the shape!

I identify as a furry and it's really fun! I do want a fursuit, but there's three main drawbacks stopping me.
1. My family would be so weirded out. Especially my dad, because I'm still fairly young. :,D
2. I'm afraid I'll have heatstroke. I heat up pretty easily let alone in a fursuit. The head covered in fur, the paws and legs, all that.
3. It's way too expensive for me to afford. I want a partial fursuit, and even that's around 1,000 dollars. >:,D

I use a site called PonyTown for a lot of my roleplaying.
It's not technically a furry-related site, it's more for bronies, but to be completely honest I see dogs, wolves, and other animals on there all the time. Heck, paws are even a customization option! VuV There aren't as many proper furries on there, but I see them on occasion!

Hearing about Furcadia sure takes me back. Sad thing is that I can't remember my login info for it- heck I can't even remember the email I used to sign up with. All I really remember of it was I had no real idea what to do on it, I mostly just walked around places and didn't really do much.
Also use to RP, not so much anymore though I may do the occasional astricks actions thing here and there (can't do it here cause YT will format it to bold text), but I generally don't do it anymore.
How to go to a con without a suit? Just go.
You won't be bouncing around in a portable oven with an endless thirst which grows faster than Fortnite's publicity, so be grateful.
And, if you want to do it in normal stuff, just watch Zootopia or Robin Hood for the 9001st time, IDK

2:discord dms, (i recommend finding a roleplayer and ask to rp dm its just easier that way)
3:roleplay games, i dont mean rpgs, no i mean hardcore legitimate roleplay games, granted they are hard to find but there is always roblox as an alternative
tips to make rps more fun: use pictures in the roleplay, it gives it a more surreal feeling
listen to music accommodating the mood you want the rp to carry, it really helps with the flow
and be ready for sleepless nights of regret for making that decision instead of the other one causing your character to end up in a fight instead of a peaceful ending for the night(if this sounds ultra specific... i dunno why,)

(and if you dont believe me when i say discord dms are better than servers, on a server one week is the best you have for an rp assuming the trolls arent too bad, in discord dms ive had an over 1 year long consecutive story going on with a friend, 1 entire year worth the roleplay, then if you REALLY wanna knock it up a level, make a book out of it, thats what me and my rp partner are doing we take our past roleplay adventures and toss them in to books online) and no. i never shut up, are you tired of reading yet? yes? no? i cant read you mind, SHEESH (jk i hope you all have a bunnderfull day ^w^)

One place I hear a lot of people Roleplaying these days is Discord, though I don't know of any furry specific ones. Just roleplay in general is done on Discord these days... Unless your me and have bad interwebs and can't use it.

I'm a furry without a fursuit. What I do is buy plushies of animals and characters i/the fandom like. Also,book series popular with Furries. I have an absolutely adorable plushie of cub Simba from the Lion King, that I just got two day ago. I also do art of my sona(s)/random furries. Also furry youtubers.
I am currently in photography class and I absolutely love it. It is really hard though because of ISO and Shutter speed and other stuff. I want to start using SLR but it's so difficult and expensive and I'm broke asf.
Another good visual roleplay game is wolf quest! If you like wolves, warrior cats, and so much more, it’s amazing!

Saw this 1/18/2022. I actually get on Secondlife and it is fun, I have 3 fursonas, a wolf, a fox, and a cat, a Lynx to be exact, but I am mostly on as my Lynx :)
I have a suggestion for roleplay furry games. I suggest ROBLOX. Yeah, there are a lot of bad games on there, but if you search there are some amazingly well done RP games that makes you able to play as an animal! Here are some games you should search for; Feather Family, Warrior Cats, Wolves of chasma, Wolves' Life, Cat's Life, Dragon's Life!
Warrior cats, Wolves of chasma, and Dragon's life are the best games if you want to really roleplay with well crafted grammar. Trust me, it truly is amazing. There's also a game that's called Crossed Paws, but you might get a lot of unfair roleplays there so I didn't add it in the list. Try them out! They're very realistic and the makers worked very hard on them!
