1 Ball Scheepjes Cotana 412 Forest Green
Scrap amounts of:
1 Ball Scheepjes Yarn Cotana 252 Watermelon (For the Mouth)
1 Ball Scheepjes Yarn Cotana 106 Snow White (For the Teeth)
1 Ball Scheepjes Yarn Cotana 515 Emerald (For the Back Ridges)
Safety Eyes: 6 mm eyes are preferred.
Stuffing
Hook: 3 mm hook
Needle: You always need a large eyed blunt needle for sewing in ends!

I got it.. When you add the stitches for the front legs. here is how to do it, cohesively. You put the 3 chains under to the "inside." this way the leg is on the Top side of the gater, the right side. make sure the 3 chains go to the underside, this is where the little hole will be where you attach the belly.. it is easy to turn the legs upside down. On the one front foot, I had to add all my stitches on the inside, instead of the outside and you will never know that. so .. Finally I figured this difficulty out. thank you for this gater ... it is the cutest out there.
oh yes, the third leg doing the toes is not chain 3 and single crochet in same stitch and single crochet in next but........ It is chain 3 and slip stitch in the same stitch, then slip stitch again and repeat 3 more times for 4 toes, So that was a clear mistake of only 1 leg but ... I clearly want to say, this is the cutest gater and a little bit more work then most but all in all it is the grandest gator out there. No one will notice a stitch off here and there. For me I did not put in plastic eyes. In 1970 those objects were banned on children and animal toys due to chocking, them cracking splitting and hey hey they are back. I perfectly sewed my eyes on and he is cuter than ever. Thank you for this great work you did.

Planning on making 24 by Xmas.
I am doing my 4th one and all 4 are not the same. ONE THIS 4TH ONE, i AM IRIONING out the problem I am encountering. I also discovered the top side of the gater is the wrong side of the stitch.. I suppose it is no matter. the bumpy side is up but for me, I LIKE THE right side up. THE OTHER problem for me was the front legs. the wrong side of the leg up on one side. I AM struggling with the 'TURNS AS SHE connects with a chain after the 7 stitches. she connects with a chain and turns it 2 times. both legs are different. blagh.. struggling to get it correct.

What other color would look nice for belly...is a alligator green all over?...Maybe mines has to be... I do not have that color😊. Thanks so much for sharing...I hope its easy to do....I have watched a few times...the pattern seems hard.....but I have to try... alittle student is wainting on his alligator😳
Glad you like my pattern! Sure it could be all green! Maybe a different green on the belly or a brown would be great as well if you had it. when you work on the other side of the body at 18:06 what did you do with the yarn did you just take it off the hook??? im so confused

Is there a simplified paper to see? I get to the legs & im too confused by this video & the instructions I found. Mine keep coming out flat & not in a circle for the leg
If you watch from 25:12 after I do the 4 SC and the chain stitches I show how and where to slipstitch to the first sc stitch. This creates the round where you will go around and around for the following rows. Make sure you pull the slipstitch tight so it creates that round. Let me know if you are still confused!

What weight is the yarn
The yarn I used is 3 ply.
Scheepjes Catona, which the designer uses, is #1 superfine weight.
