If I had to pick a one time fishing trip. Like my last ever out of all the legends . I would have to pick Terry hearn with out a shadow of a doubt. He is a true angler and a ikon . And most definitely my favourite carp god and story teller. Big respect tell . Big love Cee-Jay. Your just ( MEGA ) 🎣🎣🎣🎣

My Dad used to run a paintball shop around 1990 - Terry will know it - at the back of Epsom indoor market - I wonder if that’s where Barry got it from as he was very local. One day a guy came into the shops asking if he would be interested in a line of new camo design from the US hunting market from a company called Mossy Oak. There were 3 original lines - full foliage, tree stand & standard. He bought loads of it & sold out pretty much straight away. It was completely different to any military camo design that was available at the time & it worked really well too. I still have my original boonie hat from the first shipment that came into the uk. Bill Jordan’s Realtree came about 6-12 months later & was a huge hit on the paintball scene as it was better suited to uk woodland terrain. The first stuff was highly desirable but the patterns faded really badly after a couple of washes. I first knew about it being worn in carp fishing by some of the guys who drank in the Turks head in Laleham when they started wearing their paintball kit on the bank at Cape Boards after playing & that was around 1991. None of the original stuff was waterproof though so was useless most of the time. I started seeing it in the mags more & more over the following years as it caught on. Will have to dig out some of my early pics.

He was indeed Mr Realtree! If he was still with us he would certainly of played a role in the project. True gentleman and absolute legend. RIP Jan Porter

True Story - first time I wore my Shimano Tribal Real Tree 3/4 jacket that I got for Christmas, I was walking down to the end of the garden, and a House Sparrow that was sitting on the fence, flew down and into the side of my jacket!
