The game devs did her so dirty putting that cute pumpkin on the prompt. Like "Nah dont worry its just a Halloween school festivel type scary. Just children stuff...."

I can sense the immediate regret the second she pressed that
why does “i will stab you in MY sleep” sound so much more threatening?
You just reminded me of the criminal minds episode with the sleepwalking serial killer
Because you can’t plead with a sleeping man
the entire thing was actually unnerving, the eerie silence and the occasional anomalous activities adds tension. like you know its a cleaning game but there's also the that lingering suspicion that Dev's might've put some jumpscares in it (because funni) and with all the piled up tension from previously mentioned elements of the apartment making you on the edge the entire time, always waiting and preparing for a jumpscare that would never come
I remember also feeling the same with the water pressure game (forgot the title).
Especially the house stage, cause it feels weirdly real (as if the house exist irl). Also added with the messages story in the game make it a little creepy.
But the bgm kinda helping it to feel calm.
Then not long time after that, I saw Matsuri playing it on the underground train stage? Which I never got there cause I take a break playing it.
And just search the info about the stage in google, then I found out about little trivia, in which the dev actually planned to have "jumpscare" or clown (forgot which one) in one of the stage but decided to not putting it cause they wanted to be a normal calm cleaning game.
the whole thing is a reference to Silent Hill 4, with the place being based on room 302
Didn't the first spooky map had jump scares? The one with the gnome that turned your way and the thing you had to bury at the backyard

This is why observation duty games so unnerving, even when nothing big happen. The constant search for small changes also makes you lose your guard

Her ability to make anythhing into an entertaining and comedic moment is unparallel!
In SH4, you light candles to exorcise haunted portions of the apartment/rooms. So it's pretty neat how lighting the candles here did the same.
If I made a recreation, it would provide candles free of charge to place around the (non-threatening) hauntings.
As an old Silent Hill fan, this brought a smile to my face.
I'm positively surprised how much they managed to capture of the OG's spooks, but they sure could've gone even further!
well it is a game about flipping houses, they can only push it so far before it becomes too stressful for the core audience of this game.
The last SH game the fanbase will agree was good, everything after it essentially divided the fans

I'd have added the boy's shadow on the closet but working a paint roller, the sink spewing paint, the wall cracks as poorly-inserted vinyl stickers, and a few hauntings changed to fit the lighter House Flipper theme.

Poor Kronii. Not even her favorite type of games can escape the horror in parts. She just wants very little horror experience especially in her favorite games, even if she denies being scared.

I would love a feature where you choose to "lift the curse" and then you found out they failed to do so and you have to do it yourself

I miss Silent Hill 4, Its still etch into my mind the layout of this apartment.
Lots of reference too like the candlestick is the way to "exorcise" a parts of the apartment later in the game not as easy as what Kronii did here.

That looks like the exact layout of the apartment from Silent Hill 4. The only thing missing is the peephole into Eileen's apartment.
