I miss my old neighborhood. I used to commute by foot through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge to my job at Park Royal. I wish they would eliminate the horse and buggy in the park (for the horses sake) especially in the heat of the summer.

My brother got married in the park and he had the reception at the teahouse (2019)... it was wonderful
Hehe He got married right next to the teahouse where you showed yourself after you came out of it with a small group of 13 people present including the bride groom and officiant.
I don't know if someone already told you, but soda bottles are typically dated on the bottom with raised numbers of the year of manufacture.

I lived in Stanley park for a year Homeless at the time. I had a structural unit made outta pallets and plywood. Wet and cold is what life in Stanley park is. Really sketchy after dark wouldn’t recommend walking lots of violence
White, Caucasian Vagrants and homeless.
My boyfriend and I went and stayed in the rail car room in Cranbrook because of you! Just thought I would share that haha

A salad?!?! For breakfast?!?! As John Pinette says, a salad isn't food, it is the promise that food is coming. After that morning, you deserved a salmon Benedict with home fries (with a bit of the Benedict sauce on the potatoes), great toast with strawberry jam, and a decent-sized pot (a Brown Betty, of course) of Constant Comment, the finest tea in the world, with a nice fruit and cheese plate to finish off. Excuse me, I need to go eat.
The restaurants in Stanley Park both looked great, something we don't have here in Golden Gate Park. Stanley Park is so green, I'm surprised it has a fire danger. Nice touch of Grieg with your morning coffee.
This summer in Vancouver (and a lot of the province) has been exceptionally hot and dry. We don't usually have closures of the park due to fire risk, but the city has been very dry (thankfully the rains have now returned).
This summer was very hot , but Vancouver normally gets a lot of rain in the colder months compared to San Francisco .
also there were lot of deadly heat wave this year
Awesome vid Mike, as always! Did miss your "I don't know where I'm going next ..." sign off though. Watching your experiences helps get my travel fix from here in Auckland, New Zealand while the world is grounded. Stanley Park is a gem, so can't wait to visit Vancouver again when things open up!
I do believe your experiences from unexpected delays on train rides helped your enjoyment behind the horse and carriage. Nice to stay positive in all circumstances.
It's nice to know that the Stanley Tea Houses still is around. Over the years, when my spouse n I visit Vancouver, we try to have tea at one of them. "WE" live here?? Who's with you, Mike?
My bestie and I went there for afternoon late lunch last year during covid height and was pleasantly surprised by the elegance of the service, the feeling of complete comfort with the health&safety measures plus the excellent food. I can't wait to go back now.

Merci de nouveau. Another great look at what Mike's up to. The fire risk looks very high with all of that grass browning out for lack of rain - but it's summer and those of us from the Pacific Coast are used to that.
The fire crews have doused at least one over night fire so far. Next to the wind storm, fire in Stanley Park is my biggest nightmare.
I love the totems there. Before our cruise, we didn't get to check out much of the park in 2016, so I'm now tempted to go see more if I can get back up there.

Good to see folks out digging up invasive species! It's a lot of work. I go help out occasionally with different groups here around Toronto. We have to be so careful with what we're putting in our gardens!

So I am enjoying my morning “jo in Penticton.
We moved here from our apartment in Coal Harbor.
We wanted to retire to a house and garden.
I walked that sea wall every week ….I quit riding as we had trouble keeping pedestrians off the bike paths.

My wife and I got married at Ferguson Point almost one year ago on August 23, 2020. We had dinner at the Tea House, one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. Also, my great grandma used to run the officer’s mess that was there. Awesome to see you showcase them!

I knew I had eaten at a very nice restaurant in the park. It was this time of year in 1986 and friends in the city took us to the Teahouse. Thanks so much for taking us there and letting me know that my memory served me well and it was indeed this one.

@@nadogrl We flew into Seattle from Cincinnati. Joined a friend from Portland and then drove to Vancouver. Attended Expo and were wined and dined around Vancouver. We love that beautiful city and had the most wonderful time.
