Keys and chords within keys are a good place to start. Memorize the Major key chord pattern. Major minor minor Major Major minor diminished. Start with our favorite key G :) G major, A minor, B minor, C Major, D Major, E minor, F Diminished. Learn those chord shapes. You already know most of them. Then learn the chords of the C Major and D Major keys. That will cover the vast majority of banjo songs.
