U are the only reviewer, who gives the best review on the real volume of the main compartment. This bag is in my top 3 for edc/travel backpack. I hope u can get hands on the Bellroy venture ready pack 26.
I am deciding between this and the Mystery Ranch Catalyst 26. I do like the Bellroy Venture Ready 26L but I feel like if it is not fully packed out, the top "brain" pocketed can become lop-sided as reported by some users.
First time watching your videos. I love how detailed you are keep up the great work. Would love to see the 20l versions as well as a comparison with city pack pro

I'd love to see a review on the Pro Sling if you got your hands on one! Its ability to stand upright could open up some interesting possibilities in a travel context (EDC caddy is mainly what I was thinking)
It's good access when using it as a regular daily carry pack. The pass-through sleeve is in a good place for that bag, but makes it difficulty to get to the top pockets when it's in that orientation. Not sure how they could solve this other than finding a new location for the pass-through.
@@OneBagTravels On my Aer Go 2 the pass-thru is horizontal which makes it work well atop a roller bag. I’m sure they just didn’t want to disturb their vertical padding and north-south airflow channel. Form over function…
@@lanceklein2746 Oh interesting, I didn't realize the strap on the Go was horizontal! That does look like a better setup. But yes, form over function because the strap looks better on the Pro Pack, just doesn't work as well with rollers.
The spacing between the straps' attachment points on the bag seem narrower than on the City Pack Pro. Do you feel any squeezing from the straps by your shoulders?
Yes I realized that after I posted the vid 😆 I even have one of those and for some reason it didn't connect. Cool that bags are starting to incoprorate that into bags though
Thanks, as always, for the in depth review! Just wondering if you could tell me the measurements of the flat bottom? It looks like it tappers a bit, so a front and back across, along with the front to back in the center would be awesome. I'm trying to figure out if a Shimoda small DSLR core unit would fit in it comfortably; base measurements are; 11.4" x 4.7"
The width at the very bottom is about 10", but 1-2 inches up it widens to 11.5", then towards the middle it's 12". I feel like that camera case would fit fine, but it may push a little on the corners on the bottom.
Meh, the bottom is slanted, you can get it to stand up, but it's not the natural way for the bag to lay. What you have packed in the bag will also make a difference.
@@OneBagTravels Ah sorry for some reason I thought you had. I am debating the Pro Pack 24, Dragonfly, and Evade. I think the Evade just might be too heavy. So really maybe its between the Aer Pro Pack 24 v Dragfonly.
@@thetechtrek Both great packs, Pro Pack is a good all around bag, looks good in cities and opens clamshell to hold a ton of gear, could also use it as an EDC pack. Dragonly does the same things, but is a full pound less, good if you want the most space for the weight. It can look a little "outdoorsy" but it's not too bad if you get a darker solid color.
@@OneBagTravels Great feedback thanks. I currently sport an REI Trail 25 in black. It works when outdoors but less so when in cities. I think that 25l range is a sweet spot for me. When I do have my pack with me I typically have it on/off for longer days. Does one edge out in that category? Also any guess on the volume for the main area of the pro pack 24?

They're very similar packs, I'd probably base my decision mostly on the look of the bag. City Pack Pro is more boxy, has the traditional Aer front pocket, and the fabric has a thicker weave. The new Pro Pack has a slimmer design, tapered bottom, they moved that front pocket to the top, the fabric is smoother with a thinner weave. Both fabrics are compatible in quality and durability, it's more about which pack you think looks the best.

Good idea, I like self standing bags as well.
All the pockets are oriented toward top access, yet the luggage pass-through forces you to tip the bag over - why, Aer? WHY?!?

Just a note: black bag, dark background, no studio lights...hard to see the bag!

Edit: Does this bag sag when empty? I'm worried that the front pocket will make it fall in on itself :O
It sags slightly on the bottom front when empty, but not too bad, it's fairly stiff and holds it's shape pretty well.

They're both great packs. Bellroy is a more classy style, but Aer has more pockets, which would be better if you have a lot of small gear.
You should review the osprey aoede briefpack, it's similar with some extras, please do a review 🫠

Probably Pro Pack, not because there's anything wrong with the 26+6 but I just prefer the opening style on the Aer.
This or cpl24 if you have to keep only one? Which hold more?

How much smaller you think it is comparing to able carry max?
Alledgedly it's 6 liters smaller, but I haven't tested the capacity on the Albe Carry Max yet. I'm planning on doing a comparison video so stay tuned!
