Very good point on the zippers, I went to test the 2 options out and you were right, standard version is easier to one handedly rip open the normal zipped compartments. That said, the counter is the added security you get with the aqua guar zips, more tamper proof and less likely to get ripped open accidentally maybe, perhaps better if you are often in crowded trains etc. Like you said comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. Good vid that raised some points many others hadn't!

Thanks JT! Very solid looking pack. That full horseshoe RC unzip/zip motion is a thing of beauty.

Great quick review! I’m doing some dad bag research and this looks like a great option at a good price. Also looking at the Synapse 25 as a comparable.

I think for me I'd end up in this over the Synapse for strict "diaper bag" duties mostly because I tend to prefer the clamshell for that. Kinda imperative to be able to see everything in a pinch as quickly as possible. You know, for those... moments? Also, the flap makes a great changing pad ha.

Great review! I wonder if my dell xps17(14.74''x9.76'') can be fit in the laptop compartment of this bag. As the Aer x Carryology city pack is about to drop, City pack seems to share the same laptop compartment with city pack pro. I have asked the Are about this question, but they just told me it can only fit the Macbook 16''(14.01''x9.77'').

Don't have the bag, but I commented somewhere else that Aer initially listed the bag as 22L on their site but changed it to 24L. Someone replied that when they received their CPP the tag said 22L.
So it seems like Aer decided to change the listed capacity at some point after release. Since Aer doesn't use a standardized method of measurement (such as the ASTM method that companies like Tom Bihn uses) they can claim the capacity to be whatever they want within reason.
