If xdefiant has a fan base then yes it can The only way for the game to survive through one of the biggest challenges is for the fan base to keep playing it this is the whole reason call of duty came up with that Patton for EOMM because they figured if they can create an addiction to have people play and spend money on the game through micro transactions even if they don’t play that much but that’s the key point playtime if you put a lot of playtime into Xdefiant Then the game will survive, even if you only spend a little bit and see the thing is they don’t have good cosmetics with weapons or the xdefiant characters but that’s not why I play the game. I play it because it’s fun
They absolutely can. They just need to polish things. They need to polish the aiming and sensitivity settings, the recoil recovery, netcode, and animations for certain things like mantling. They also need to just add stuff. Idk what that stuff is but it feels like it needs more.
The problem is they have the first year mapped out, the game is bleeding players, and the devs aren’t adjusting at all! People say, “more content” they have the content the problem is, they are dying on the hill of, “everything is planned out” and not pushing anything out early
@@danielblassi1029the thing is that what you suggest is a double edged sword. They give us all the content in advance and then they got nothing left. Then we will have a content drought of maybe 6months before they can get the next set of guns, maps and all that jazz out which will just result in the same problem with people complaining that theres no new content.
the game is great at its core. all these ppl saying it’s dead i GUARANTEE you they are bots/cod cheerleaders. the potential is boundless just like r6. r6 was actually extremely flawed at first so i fully believe XD can become one of the biggest games around.
Good video! This game can absolutely make a comeback. But it's all gonna come down to execution by the developers during season 2 and 3. The core gameplay is fun and addictive. There just needs to be more end-game progression loops and core issues ironed out. If the developers deliver on these promises, with the game's price point of being free Xdefiant will be able to offer a value proposition that not many games in the FPS space currently do. But it all comes back to the developers and execution.
Well the game is still missing basic features that cause major frustration. Most importantly more advanced control options. I'm talking button remapping, the option to toggle and throw grenades(really comes in handy when you REMAP your grenade button), analog trigger deadzones( I don't want my gun to go off at the slightest touch), on this note it would be nice of the game made advantage of the Dualsenses trigger lock feature. And finally last but not least gyro aim(with it's own separate axis inversion and sensitivity settings) which is a much better alternative to aim assist. Aim assist is just a cheap unreliable band aid fix that you have no real control over while gyro aim is a fully manual compensation tool for the sticks shortcomings.
@@bobmowat7190 its called a "loss leader" in the business space, ubisoft gives us free coins in hopes it boosts player engagement which in turn leads to more store sales. this is the mindset
I bought the Marvel collection and will try and support Xdefiant so that it makes a dent in the FPS genre that these games are still relevant in today’s time. Love the collection by the way
This game will only grow when things are balanced, that are now breaking it. All it needs is some devotion, work, and creativity and content. This takes time, but the fanbase will grow as the game gets better. I have a lot of nercode issues but I still play it for some reason. I can always reset when the game is more balanced and start over.
dont worry its failing. thats why they are putting call of duty on gamepass, they have bled over 50 million players since 2020 and that number isnt stopping. warzone mobile was a flop too
xd is in a hard place and its going to be a fight to get players back. also with the state that ubi is in atm , if they pull the game their share prices will take another hit and the investors will be very angry. if they keep the game going and keep losing money the share prices could take a hit and the investors wont be happy. they have to hope that the game gets turned around and turned around quickly to keep the shareholders happy and boost market confidence in the company and management and within the company. it doesnt matter which end you take a bite from a shit sandwich is a shit sandwich and thats where xd and ubi are atm.
Being tied to ubisoft is the biggest problem atm. They do have a few options imo that can help bring the game back to at least a stable point. I doubt the game will ever have millions of concurrent users ever again, we have to accept this game aint going to compete vs the real big boys that have hundreds of thousands of daily users like cod, fortnite, league. But it can come back and have a stable and dedicated playerbase. I really think they can weaponize a stream release once the game is in a much better state. Fix the game, release enough content for the game to not feel so barebones, then do a small marketing campaign to bring the game back into peoples minds and then release on steam. The game is solid enough that imo a steam release can bring in a new players and with some word of mouth the player count can and will increase.
I brought R6 Siege on release and I remember how disappointed my buddies and I were. We dropped it and came back to it a handful of times and now it's thriving. It's admittedly a huge part of my confidence in XDefiant success, other part being how solid the base gameplay is despite its issues.
I have a strong feeling that season 3 is that hail mary that xdefiant fails, however is there a chance that season 3 flops yes, i just dont see it happening when season 2 and season 3 are bringing so much stuff the community has wanted
By not releasing it on Steam they've effectively not released it on PC yet, and PC is the largest gaming platform currently. They need to get it there soon though because the more seasons and FOMO content goes by the less likely it is to grab new players.
Ive said the steam release has to happen but only after they fix the game and theres enough content for the game to not feel barren. Not releasing on steam after the game released with so many massive issues is a godsend tbh. They can use the steam release and a bit of marketing to bring eyes back to the game, and if the game is in a good state in theory it will bring in new players and old players who quit due to various issues. The game will never be a top fps contender that rivals the big boys. But it can forsure become a stable staple that is mentioned often with a solid dedicated player base, and imo thats what they need to aim for. Lower expectations, this game will never have millions of daily users like it did at launch , but if it can have a consistent 100-200k players playing within the 24hours i think the game can survive and just be its own little thing that exists, much like splitgate.
I hope so, I am really enjoying it when I can get a game with good ping. I am in Australia, sparse population and a huge area of land, I am usually put in Asian servers and they have a high ping. This weekend so far hasn't been too bad, still takes a while to get a local game though and have to back out of Asian/high ping servers more often than not. Hopefully they can pick up the player base over season 2 and 3 and provided they have the content to back it up I don't see why they can't. The thing is, do they have enough content (I know it's rumored they had a year of content finished or near complete at launch) and if they what they were planning on releasing each season isn't enough (and I don't think it is) will they up the tempo and release 50-100% more content with future seasons? Time will tell.
Game is dog water on M&K. With input based matchmaking turned on I get put in lobbies with players with 200 ping. Supposed to be US east but put me on West smh
I think game is gonna end up like The Finals, and that's fine by me. There will be ppl to play, some 10-20K players, maybe more when new content drops and that's it. Ppl will move on eventualy, BO6 will take it's share, other games will come, but hey, on the other side, there will be less hackers, boosters, smurfs.. In a year from now we will have solid, stable shooter with healthy comunity and thats great if u ask me. Not every game has to have millions upon millions of players to be considerate to be sucess. 🤔
no, Ubisoft i think likes rubin and believes in him, they got so much money why would they even care, they probably told rubin “hey keep doing you, if you need anything let us know” type of vibe, what rubin should do quickly, just saying since Assassins Creed Shadows is almost out, they should do a skin or wallpaper type of thing where they pay homage to a big Ubisoft title. something like that, but other than that the game is here to stay 🙏
