I think the weight advantage of the paslode is worth an extra point, most of the chippys I know have both gas and gasless guns and if the nails are supplied and its not too cold the paslodes will come out, especially on roofs and other awkward places. When my paslode fell to bits I bought a dewalt (only thing in stock) which isn't the best but has performed flawlessly, they all do the job, nice to have a choice.

After over 36 years as a joiner both my shoulders are now worn out and i have to stick with the gas since they are lighter

Never send it in, you can buy the reduction valve and refill it yourself in 5 minutes with a compressor

Paslode will never go gasless.. but the battery system guns are getting lighter and more powerful, so Paslode will have to change somehow..
