Improve 0-60 time in a stock 1982 corvette without any serious modifications

- This is my 1982 Corvette. Since owning it over the past few years I was able to get the car to breath better, and learn some of the tricks to improving performance while keeping it stock. #1982corvette
O-60 in 4.5 seconds. Be lucky to get 7secs, a c8 will be pushed to do that , keep smoking the wacky baca its working fine!
I hate to be the one to do this but I don't believe that you can HALF the 0-60 time by just doing those two things. You can prove it to all of us by simply posting a 0-60 run here on YT.
Love C3 Corvettes but you'll never get 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds with an engine rated at 200hp

What does putting the selector in 3 do? Lower the axle ratio?
Good looking Vette. I wouldn’t mess with it too much. Put the induction door back on and call it good. If you want to go fast buy a C6/7 and leave the C3 in the garage.
"some people" think anything newer than a C3 is UGLY (and hard to get in and out of)
More like 0-30 4.5
1- Spare tire not even close to 100lbs, 2- air flow is not forced air induction regardless of the vent, 3- you clearly have an aftermarket accel coil and 8mm wires. 42 years of restoring cars, trust me, this car will never do 4.5 seconds without serious mods. 4- Yes, I own an 82 , 26/24 code Corvette
LOL 4.5 seconds? A C5 corvette goes 0-60 in 4.5. And it makes over 100 horsepower more, weighs less, has more grip and a better transmission.
But is souless and will never hold it's "Value" like a C3 82 or otherwise. Corvette died after 82.
@@russelljdj that’s irrelevant. Guy in the video stated his 82 can keep up with a C5 by eliminating parasitic drivetrain losses. Load of bogus. Doesn’t mean the 82 isn’t a great looking and sounding car.

I suggest you post your details on a proper corvette forum And see what reaction you get , do you not think for one minute. That GM would say open the vent and say set off in third and tell every body about 4.5 seconds 0-60 times Christ man ! Why did they decide to make all the glass thinner and other things to even try to make maintain previous time if it was that easy.you’ll be saying if you use a certain polish it also makes it faster 😂😂😂😂
not the original owner i'm sure, so maybe the motor is not stock. there's a guy on the forum that is pushing 11 secs now with what looks like a stock motor (intake, heads, cam, headers, ECM and TBI work)

A 100lb pound spare tire? You are looking at a 30-40lb tire at the most. Also, the induction door opens to breathe more air at higher speeds, it concentrates the air to go to the manifold rather than the whole engine, by removing it you are not concentrating air at higher speeds. On a side note... corvettes are on the lightest cars, and you have a crossfire injection one... You won't get to the speed you are mentioning unless you do some serious work on it. Removing a tire and an air vent is not going to even get you close to the numbers you are talking about. ALSO, you are going to ruin your transmission if you keep doing it the way you are doing it.

Sorry but I just don't believe you're getting a 4.5 0-60time out of this Vette unless you drop a crate motor in & change the tranny
there is no way this car does 0 to 60 any faster than 7 seconds... Post a video with the 0 to 60 time
