What a beautiful landscape to be riding through. To be honest, I think a bike like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 would be ideal for such narrow roads and put you in a slower state of mind. Awesome work Kate and Lillie!
Beautiful women, beautiful bikes, beautiful countryside.
Buttermere so aptly named gorgeous just like you 2 thanx for taking us along
Aaaah Hardknott. Brings back memories of last summer when i visited your beautyfull country.
The camera doesn't give a true picture of how steep the roads are, how sharp some of those bends are and how poor the road surface is in so many parts. Even so great fun especially on a gorgeous sunny summer's day, you obviously enjoyed every minute as i have everytime I've been over Hardnott.
Absolutely gorgeous countryside 😊
Beautiful isn't it!
Beautiful ride. Much nicer weather this time.
Every one has been great to watch.
Fantabulous last vlog to the series ladies. I'm doing all the lakes passes soon. Looking forward to your next vlog adventures dukeofblonde/dukeofbrunette .....the cake and tea tours 😉🤙👍
Following your channel has got me back into biking for the first time since 1988..... yes that long , me next for a pillion with Lillie holding on tight for safety....
I’m afraid that’s not going to happen Mike!
Great video Kate and Lillie. Lovely scenery and views. What a great tea shop.
Another bloody great video keep up the good work girls
Really good to finally catch one of your premieres, awesome video as always Kate and Lillie!!
Yay! So glad you made it!!!
@@UsernameKate will definitely be keeping my eye out for future ones!
Kate & Lillie, out for another ride filled with "quacks" & cake".
The landscapes you ride through are a visual relaxation, I love😅😅 it😅😅😅
Once you pass the Hardknot and go into the next Valley. That view is majestic. Great vid as usual Kate 😊
Great vid, love those pass's. We rode up Honister Pass and had exactly the same thing happen with 2 jets coming up from behind, it sounded like we were going to get mown down ! Plus I caught them on the GoPro going over our heads which was cool
LOL at your reaction to the jet! 🤣
Funny Jet Story #1: My late girlfriend was mad keen on the Lakes and knew them much better than I did. She'd taken me to a place where the road crossed the end of a valley (can't remember the name). We parked up our bikes, walked across the road to the valley side to look at the view, and the words, "just listen to how quiet it is" had literally just crossed her lips when two RAF Tornados (one of THE noisiest jets), who'd been flying up the valley, pulled up sharply right in front of us. The noise was _devastating_ : one of those sounds that completely maxes out your ears and you feel through your diaphragm and the soles of your feet. As a complete aviation geek I had an ear-to-ear grin, but she assumed I was laughing at her curled up in a ball on the floor in shock... as if i would...🤣😈
Funny Jet Story #2 (You saying you thought it was lion reminded me of this): I was despatch riding one day, heading north on that bit of the M6 where the northbound and southbound carriageways split, the north being higher than the south. I was tired, It was blustery, and the constant turbulent battering on my helmet was doing my head in. I kept going into that wierd "kinetic trance" state you get into on fast but boring motorway journeys. Then I heard a dog barking over my right shoulder, and my spaced-out brain's first reaction was "huh, where's that dog?". Then a second later, reality snapped back: "you're in the outside lane doing 80mph you berk: THERE IS NO BLOODY DOG!" Then I saw the source of the sound: three RAF Jaguars (like a Tornado but smaller) were flying north up the valley practically level with me, and the turbulence around my helmet was chopping up their jet roar into dog-like "barks".🤣
The Jags got their come-uppence for confusticating me though. As I watched, they suddenly pulled up and banked hard right, as if reacting to something. Looking ahead of them, I could see two curls of dirty smoke. That only meant one thing in the UK at the time: an air-defence F-4 Phantom "turning into" them, and they'd turned into him to foil his attack. However just as they levelled out on their new course, _another_ Phantom streaked in from the left, right behind them, perfectly lined up for a shot. The two Phantoms had suckered them: the first had made an obvious move and provoked them into lining themselves up for the second to kill. Not saying I stood up on the pegs and shouted "SERVES YOU RIGHT YOU BASTARDS!" 'cos obviously I'd never say that I did anything as pointless and dangerous as that, honest...😇
Hey Kate how are you doing today looking forward to seeing this later on today nothing beats seeing you and lily on two wheels wearing your swanky helmet's and dark visor's ride safe lovely 🤩
I was shouting ‘Hardknott Roman Fort’ as you rode past the cars parked up. One of the finest Roman forts in the UK. I did a couple of videos about it on my channel. I followed every inch of your ride. I’ve done it on bikes and cars many times. I know every pothole, and like you say, those inclines are scary as hell. It’s a wonderful place.
I've been there so many time, I just focus on the riding as it's what most people wanna see :)
@@UsernameKate absolutely. I’ve filmed it in the car , but never on a bike. I loved your video, and subscribed. My biking days are over, but there are so many great biking channels. I recently watched a couple about some Danish lads touring the UK. It was awesome.
Appreciate that so much 😊😊😊
You Two should have your own TV show, Tea & Cake with Lillie & Kate😁🍰☕
😂 a lion! Had me chuckling. We have jets practice up our hillside/ village in Wales. Would love to see them in the mach loop.
Great video.
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing
I started watching late and didn’t realise it was live so I watched the last 5 minutes first and the first bit last 😂
Beauties on the beasts 🤩
Nice one girls, beautiful ride 👍
Loved it ❤
Lovely video ladies enjoyed
Definitely going to ride that route.
Mint ride 👍🏼
Good fun dude 😁
Let's go!
Hey! Lillie have a beautiful voice 🙃
Great video ladies, Stunning countryside, we've just got back from doing 4 passes for the first time and it was raining when we did the hardknott🙈'swamp croch'🤣❤️ recommend the Honister pass nice cafe at the slate mine 👍
I've been to that slate mine cafe in a vlog with my Dad and zee Germans. Lovely place
We also did Honister pass on Kate’s birthday ride - check out that video too :)
My dream bike ❤
Such a good bike!!!
Morning 😁😁👍
Morning!!!
UsernameCake ? 😁👍🏼 yeh, me too. 😂 Keep up the good work.
Think a rebrand is in order haha 🎂
Nice slab ov 🍰☕ and bike ride with a mate what could be better 😀
That BMW car doesn't actually have tax, so it can't be parked there 😂 if a cop checks him out, it's gonna get towed away. It does have MOT though. Till April next year.
Hi Kate , great blogg Grattis to Lilly for her birthday. What brand of jacket and jeans is she wearing as they look very stylish on her. I think to do a blog on ladies clothing would go down well as plenty of women riding now , and think it would be well received.Yes those jets buzzing can scare the crap out of you😂❤️🏍👍🇸🇪
I’m wearing the LS2 Bullet ladies Jacket and the Oxford Product Super Leggings 2.0 in this vid
@@dukeofblonde Thank you Lilly, they look very stylish, which is important for ladies, but practical too. I will have to look at your channel , and hope you enjoyed your birthday. All the best from Sweden 🇸🇪 Philip 🌺🏍
Crap seats by the sound of it I always take a large bin bag to cover the seat. Just a tip to help you get the bike up right turn the handle bars to your right.
One of your best st of videos! Great trip! Amazing bikes, sexy babes and beautiful location 5 stars 🌟 well done awesome xx
Kate wanted to do this one day always in Wales lol looks amazing are you aloud with a drone to catch some airal shots ride safe you loons 😀
Kate a jet went passed me in Wales when i was going into bend omg 😨
frightening haha
Kate everyone likes a challenge i would do both
Cant wait to see what you think of the MT 09 with the automatic transmission if you review that
Soon, soon :)
Was that the \victoria sponge that.....well you hope for in Scotland.....
Very enjoyable series, some of my favourite places to ride. But tell me, how on earth does lillie ride in gloves with her nails on ?
They’re my natural nails and I tend to just put my hand in the glove, fasten it up and ride away 😅😅
I lost my BMW r1150r on the Hardknott pass in bad weather and broke several ribs. I've never gone near it since, some of the car drivers up there are a little inconsiderate..
Really enjoyed the series with you two (as usual!) How come you cut it off when arriving outside of Keswick? I lived and worked in Borrowdale for a while in 1979 and you missed out on Honister Pass which is awesome....☹️
Huge crash, air ambulance, nothing more to add to the video 😊
The white sportsbike Kate rides in part of the intro...S1000RR or is it a Fireblade,??
I looked at the beginning of the video and thought for crying out loud woman clean your visor 😂
😊
Do you have a video on the Knox gear?
What gear do you use?
Comes
Helmet
I'm a fan of that jacket with all the zippers. I believe it's a rain jacket.
Comms: Cardo products
Helmets: Both Shoei XSPIRIT 3s
Lillie's Jacket: LS2 Bullet Jacket
My Jacket: Knox 3 in 1 Dual Pro Jacket with Urbane Pro Mark 3 jacket underneath (the copper and black jacket on the pass)
amajing
Dare i ask , What happened to your Handroid pods ? Tnx
I loved them!! But the pods smallest size is Small, and I did so much in them that they stretched and are now too big (theyve gone up a size being leather and having me sweating offroad in them at launches lol) . I'm going to get some of their XS gloves like maybe the Orsa.
...yorkshire terrier's ...where are these ?
Little dogs originating from Yorkshire but we didn't see any this trip 😊
"Swamp crotch" 😂 Is that an acceptable language on TH-cam?! 😅
(Just kidding ♥️).
It was the most PG option out of a bunch haha
Thing's are much better in England
Aye, when its sunny! (which isn't often haha)
Lillie has swamp crotch due to the Alcantara (An artificial suede) to contend with, not nice Ohhh Matron !
The FULL Akrapovic system on the Super Duke (£2,500-3000) then there;s dyno work if you like with new map, of course her bike will drink faster and thirstier than the bike you're on Kate, as Lillie's bike will be putting out more gee gee's. I wonder how she gets around the MOT when it's due as the full system has to be for track use only and there's no cat !?
The seat is a nice thing but suede and water do not go ! Some clingfilm would've helped, either that or wear water proof Knick knacks whilst riding.
Hard Knott pass hmm, the Romans had a fort there(Remains still extant) so if they could walk there, the KTM should have nay problemo. . .
It’s a brand new bike so luckily not due an MOT for 3 years :) yes, the alcantara does soak up water on the seat - I’m looking to get a waterproof cover for it made by the same guy or renew them completely as they are a custom design.
@@dukeofblonde Yeah I know, that's the beauty of buying new, no MOT for 3 years. However, as I have found, the hard sell is losing £££'s thousand's in depreciation.
Problem when actually riding/driving is one misses historic places or traces unless you keep stopping or you're a passenger.
Oh, nice rump by the way.
@@jimn7788 I put 20k miles on the 1290 when I had it so not afraid of putting miles on a bike, even if new! I don’t think you miss out on places if that’s what your goal is for the trip surely? We all have the ability to plan stops and visits if there are places you want to see. Depends what you’re after in a road trip.
@@dukeofblonde No, no, I mean, you and Kate go on a trip, ride your bikes take in the scenery, the vibes/aura etc, and stop off at planned breaks. I mean I have found, myself, when going to places, that there is always something to catch you unawares, that I overlooked or thought it wouldn't be worth the while stopping off only to change my mind and rode or driven past.
Yes i concur, everyone is different in their approach to going on a trip (Hold on that doesn't sound right does it ?) depends what you're wanting to do, see or stop off at.
I'm more history orientated, seeing places that others would balk at, ruined castles etc but to me they are places/sites that are unique a privilege to still be able to visit.
You say you had a 1290? You mean the Adventure ? Sound bike that. Better suited to long trips, 160hp, protection etc.
Nice speaking to ya, take care.
@@jimn7788it was a 1290 Superduke R :)
They've made the engines too big and lazy.
Bored.
Yet here you are 🤣
And I bet you watched all of it 😂😂😂
That BMW car doesn't actually have tax, so it can't be parked there 😂 if a cop checks him out, it's gonna get towed away. It does have MOT though. Till April next year.
