- The Himalayas never give a dull moment especially on a motorcycle. This is part 7 in a multi part Himalayas riding the Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure motorcycle. Day 7 sees us leaving the Pangong Tso lake at Rangjon Resort and heading north west back towards the Leh. But as always it's not a smooth sailing adventure riding, I'll give you some good tips about riding the Himalayas...including showing you that the holy cows are best not hit! Ruckymonster hits an Indian cow with his motorcycle pannier! Ouch!
With the sun shinning it was a blissful coffee by the stunning turquoise blue waters of lake Pangong Tso. Our ride took us north hugging the lakes sandy banks running along the twisty single track road boasting breathtaking views of the Caribbean like crystal clear waters. Leaving the proximity of the Chinese/Tibeten border behind, our worries for being around an unexpected military conflict eased and the winding roads continued. The tarmac quality lulled us into a false sense of pace for the days miles.
With 60km left the tarmac ended and super rocky dusty adventure trails begin. Meandering and winding along a raging river with blistering sunshine. It was a stunning ride with temperatures reaching 26 degrees! The warmest we’ve experienced!
The final 15km into Diskit was a sporty one as we gained ground on a large group of 30+ bikers. The dust was high but we slowly under took and over took between trucks and rocky corners lively using our horns in the Indian way. Boop boop. It was an adrenaline rush with our new Royal Enfield Himalayans absolutely sucking up the terrain. When you’re on capable off road adv bikes why wouldn’t you overtake and keep pace? 💪
Arriving for a stunning sunset we found a hot shower and comfortable room at the Ladakh Ecotel Farm Stay before walking into town for dinner (the stay wasn’t to welcoming for dinner).
Day 7 (10th June):
Pangong - Nubra
Total time: 7hr 20min
Riding time: 4hr 22min
Distance: 116miles / 187km
Max altitude reached: 14,400

Always refreshing to go 18:46 through your videos again and again..👌👌
been to Leh Ladakh but travelled on a car.. you inspire me to go on a bike ride 🏍️🏍️ on these lovely roads..
Great road and drone footage as usual Vanessa. Those Donkeys were so cute I'd not be surprised if you adopted one or ten. As for the cows the group did right to avoid a collision as much as possible as you don't want to get into a beef with the locals or damage the riders or bikes. Many thanks for sharing.

Beautiful video, loved it.👌👌
Great adventure. The journey difficulties tend to lead to an incredible sense of accomplishment. I’m really enjoying your series so far and looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventure. By the way, I really like the way you are handling the 360 camera angles. Very smooth.
Nicked or skimmed vs hit ....
Good thing your dust cloud vision was better than the cameras.
Who snores the loudest?
When taking off goggles, the dust mask proves you been having fun.
Take care Vanessa and you crew of two.
Epic pictures! 🤩 Your video here may even have beaten Noraly's video from these roads by a smidgen! (🤫 Don't tell her I said that)
I have come to understand that Fluffy actually is way too epic a person to just be named Fluffy. May I suggest to make that Thunderfluff, Fluffy only being the short or diminutive form? 🤗
This was a great one! 🤩🤗
Ola Vanessa. Interesting your bright light sneeze, my cousin has same tik but better than my being allergic to air, takes almost nothing to set me off sneezing. Love the roads built into cliff faces and rock slides, resourceful people, not that they have a choice.
Nice to see you are doing well and on top of where you are going. Can I borrow your crew if I don't call the incidence a collision between cows?
How's the Kid??
Clear blue sky and beautiful clean blue water. There's more to indian than usual racist prejudices and stereotypes.
I wonder how long ago all these sealed roads were dirt?
❤❤❤
Hey Vanessa, I have always wondered if other people besides myself get triggered if they look into the bright sun?
I have not gotten to the cow part yet. I have now hit two deer with my Yamaha FZ-07. I will be replacing the front fender , fork Tubes , radiator and headlight today. White Tail Deer are not so big .. I hit smaller ones maybe 140 pounds. Deer are very soft compared to hitting a car that pulls out in front of you .
All well ❓❓❓
