I love all of Astaire's partnerships, but I think this is my favorite. Love this Kern/Mercer song sung beautifully by Nan Wynn and dubbed flawlessly by Hayworth. Such amazing chemistry between Astaire and Hayworth. I am obsessed with these classic films and music, and am sure I was born into the wrong generation. Glad we have TCM and TH-cam to enjoy the past.
Love this movie as well the Great Music ...Unforgettable!! Both Fred and Rita are Very Special souls who entertained us and danced to perfection. Love them both!
Columbia was the last of the eight major or mini-major studios to do a film in Technicolor. It would be a year before the studio did a film in color, a Glenn Ford western called, ''The Desperadoes.'' But after that, Columbia went all in for Technicolor with mega-hits like the Rita Hayworth-Gene Kelly musical, ''Cover Girl,'' and ''The Jolson Story.'' While I agree that the black and white cinematography in ''You Were Never Lovelier'' is stunning, it's too bad Columbia didn't do it Technicolor.
Rita was a great Spanish dancer like her parents. She shows it here in one of Astaire's best movie numbers.

Love this scene!!! 🎉❤
In color!?
🚀🧠🤯
Was Rita singing or lipsyncing?
Delightful Nan Wynn was the singing voice for Rita in her early Musicals, including this one.
See it in stunning black and white and not in this sickening colorisation...Rita looks positively green in certain shots!!

So don’t watch it.
green never looked so good
A much better dancer than Ginger Rogers and more beautiful too.
Ginger wasn’t a natural dancer, but she did improve over time. Rita was born to dance and she was simply breathtaking! Especially when she danced….
