The way frisk just appears in front of sans and protects him reminds me of dusttale and how when you try and do pacifist you jump in front of sans and protect him from chara. Then you and sans work together to fight chara. Though you and charas health are linked so any damage you do to chara is also done to you. Any healing you do is also done to chara.
aus are idiotic bullshit most of the time. chara is not a monster, if player will do genocide for the second time she will be confused, cuz she thinks killing monsters for the second time isn't necessary at all. even in Undertale chara just makes sure you answered for your actions. thats why you cant beat pacifist after genocide.

Basically reset can also reset timelines and bring friends back to life and of course if somebody tells to reset it will reset the timeline if not the timeline will not get reset. And finally, all the scenes you THOUGHT Frisk was in was actually Chara's scenes.
