1:16 this is for brand new equipment and for goalies only. Always buy usedequipment. It is costly to play however especially travel hockey . Buy used, hit up salvation army, used hockey stores , kijiji etc..
It's funny at how we get some great sports animes out of no where like Haiku and Kuroko no Basket, or something a like.
Yeah I didn't think I would even like sports anime, but haikyu ended up being my favorite anime lol

@@ToeKnee would've been great if the main characters had a character that was the fighty type. The type to mainly just body people and get into fist fights (because brawling is a pretty big part of hockey. Obviously you know that tho)
I really appreciate this review! As someone who spent 17 years of my life playing hockey, when I started getting into sports anime I was sad that there wasn't any hockey representation. I was hopeful for this, but you confirmed my fears. Great vid!

Then we learn that this particular defenseman is known for his crazy powerful slapshot, and intimidates goalie by breaking glass panel behind them.

Well goalie helmets are traditionally much more expensive than player helmets, but your leg pads are the most important part to a goalie. There's actually a crazy amount of stuff that goes into creating a leg pad so that's why they are super pricey.

As a massive hockey fan, thank you dad, I wanted to watch this show since it got announced back in 2021.
Holy fuck is the beginning dull and unimportant as hell.
Granted for me once it hit episode 7 then we really started to get into the more meat of the anime.
That 2nd half saved my enthusiasm for the show, I rated it a 7 on MAL, and I'm wanting more of what you talked about when we hopefully get a 2nd season.

So our ice rink wasn't actually at the school itself, you won't find that too commonly. We had a home rink though that was relatively close. Maybe 10-15 drive from school

There are some really good slice of life shows though. I recommend barakamon. It's about calligraphy, super wholesome and overall good vibes

The thing that annoys me most about this is that they're all wearing fishbowl helmets. I played hockey from the ages of 6 to 18, and I can count on 1 hand how many fishbowls I saw, everyone wore the metal cages.
Yeah it's 100% so they wouldn't have to animate the faces, which I guess I understand, but yeah no one rocks the bowls lol
I wore a fishbowl for one season in the absolutely sucked I could not see a thing clouded up so much

I second this, this anime was quite meh. It had a few nice smooth animations for the hockey, so I have my hopes up there will be a new anime in not so far away future with some slick hockey action.
I really expected atleast one character in the anime that is like matt cooke and does a ton of cheap shots for her own enjoyment
