  • In this video we add the missing tie down anchors to the rear sides of the bed in the Ford Maverick XL. This is an easy DIY project for the Ford Maverick XL package to get it closer to the XLT version of the truck. You can never have too many anchor points in the bed of a truck and the ones we install in this video are utilized regularly. Thanks for watching!

    Use the drill. When u tap back it out a little now and then. Use cutting oil. Thanks for the video!

    Thanks for posting this and for linking the parts. I just did this to my XL, was a breeze.

    Great demonstration of your tapping skills!

    Nice, thanks for the vid, I hadn't considered adding this tie down to my XL. I did order two bedside cubbies from Ford, that was a inexpensive and easy upgrade as well, along with adding diy style bed rails.

      Nice, I wanted to add the cubbies as well!

    When I got my bedliner done, the shop installed my bottom hooks on top. Now I don't have to tap! I think they "tapped" it in place with an impact drill.

    NIce Video, I 3rd the suggestion on adding a little cutting oil. Also, I "vacuum up" the metal shavings. Since, metal shavings in the eyes, doesn't feel good. Still, Good vid, thanks!

      It's funny how in the moment of filming I opted to just spray the debris, when in fact, I have gotten metal shaving in my eye once...terrible hassle terrible pain...

      Yah, that's a good recommendation! I may need it when I do the d-rings on the floor of the bed.

    Do you need to do anything to the threaded holes to protect against rust?

    Your links are for a 6mm tap. Is this correct or should it be 8mm?

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      6mm is correct for the tie down points in this video. (there are other existing holes that can be tapped around the bed that may be 8mm, but these are def 6mm

    Worked for me. But after a week, the damn black hex bolts are already rusting

    What is the fix to silence the backup beeping on the Maverick Hybrid and also prevent vehicle going to park from neutral when door is opened.

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know, I haven't even thought about disabling the backup beeping in the hybrid after I noticed how bad the glitches and pauses are in the back up cameras feed. If I get some info on that, I'll get back to you haha.

      If you just unplug it you'll get a pedestrian warning system error on the dash. The company Megaohm sells a resistor to plug into the harness in place of the external speaker to get rid of the external sound and prevent errors. The speaker is kind of a PIA to get to on the maverick as it's located behind the drivers side fake fog light area, I have done it to my maverick though because I enjoy the silence.

    Like someone said before, you want to use a little oil. Even WD-40 is better than nothing. Good video though!

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but would have taken longer to grab the oil then to tap it (while dry)

    What self tapping screws does ford use? I'd try to just get that so it works as it's designed to.
