8 minutes in and I already learned more than a dozen videos and articles on heated seats for a ford. Thanks for the video. My DS is out but passenger side works. DS Burton illuminates so it's gotta be the element. Going back to watch the rest of the video now. Thanks!!
Is this the same procedure on my 2000 Ford Excursion Limited 7.3 diesel? It's seat heaters are a simple on/off. No temp selection option. Also, you said a place that sells elements, cheaper then the dealer, but I could not hear what you said. "Towsley" was it?
I have replaced my cloth seats in my 05 silverdo with heated leather. However, there are no factory controls to connect to. I have some door switches from my old 05 z71. Can I make my seats heat wiring those switches to my fuse box and installing them somewhere on the molding surrounding the seat base?
so that means that the driver side element is at fault not the relay switch. you can disconnect the element connector and test for continuity. This will confirm the seat heater element being faulty.

I hope you don't mean actually clear because the entire video is out of focus
Very good information, makes trouble shooting easy if you follow directions!

Thanks for making this video. I learned a lot
That little thermistor was probably OK, one wire came loose on mine and fixed it.

Thank You so much !
What site did you find replacement elements? I have looked everywhere and can not find any.
+everettm21 Call tousley ford for your parts. they will be the cheapest for all your parts.
+James Ross thank you
Trying to figure out why the lower wouldn't fit a 2002 F150,.. no one makes this, not even Dorman
The thermostat circuit will not show a good circuit, you need to check ohms and hold a match to that little wafer.
The driver side feeeds the pasanger side... so bad drivers side will not allow a good pasanger side to work
+JamesRRossII strange, my passenger side works but no driver side. same truck ( 2004 F250)

You lost me at the word physics. Too complicated.
