hey friends, thank you for your patience, I missed ya'll🤍as you can see, the last couple of months have been pretty chaotic. I shared some pretty big life updates, leave a comment below if you have any questions. Let me know what you have been up to, let's catch up.
I’ve been watching your channel for about a month and I’m so sorry about the loss of your cousin. I am so happy that you are following your heart and moving back home to be with family. Also very happy David is moving with you! I work for the federal government as well and my husband is a firefighter! I’m praying for you during your transition. 💜
That's how I felt when I was contacted that my mom passed away. We were stationed 8 hrs from my mom and it was devastating. She's been gone 8 years and still feels like yesterday. Grief comes in waves, it doesn't get easier you just learn how to cope with it. Sending my love to you Selena
Your journey is not set in stone and I am so glad that you are following your heart and your dreams. I am so proud of you for making this journey and doing the inner work. Just remember to give your self grace and give your self to grow. I wish you nothing but the best.
I’ve recently found your channel and I send my condolences. I don’t binge watch video from content creators and girl I am hooked. I can’t wait to see more❤
It's so important to give yourself the time and space to process tragic life events. So I'm proud of you for taking some time. I appreciate your transparency and vulnerability. I love how you still took us with you and even though you weren't posting you still got clips to take us back through what we had missed. I think it's so cool that you were able to utilize the opportunity to view apartments. Your family seems so supportive and comforting. I can understand why you would miss them and feel drawn to Oregon. This is going to be an exciting chapter and I look forward to seeing you grow and adjust. Thank you for always keeping it real.
So sorry for the loss of your cousin. I am looking forward to seeing more of your family! That one apartment with all of those windows looks amazing! And so happy David is coming along. Congrats to him on landing two solid offers. You have your TH-cam fam's support! xo
thank you Danielle! ❤ yes, I loved all the windows. I'm definitely hoping they have a larger 1-bed open up for the fall, that would be perfect! but I also liked the larger apt with the island. But huge windows is a MUST!
Make sure you join the alumni association for your college in Portland. I had a friend who moved from TX to Portland for work and our former student org was so helpful to her when it came to making new friends and having a social life.
I am so happy for your next adventure! I was worried that David wouldn’t be moving and you guys would have to do long distance 😢 but yay!! To the next chapter!
noooo, we did long distance the first year of our relationship, and it worked well back then since I was in college and super busy anyway, but would def be much harder as grown adults haha
I’m so sorry for your loss. I think with your boyfriend getting 2 job offers and your visit with your family is a sign for you to move back home. This is great for you to start a new chapter in your life. My son has a home in DC and right now he is in Brazil for 2 years he is also a gov employee. I really think everything will work out just keep praying and your prayers will be answered. Can’t wait to see your new videos of moving. You got this.
So excited to follow your journey back to Oregon! I grew up in Vegas and always said I’d move to Oregon one day. Vegas outside of the strip is very suburban with ample free parking everywhere and plenty of access to stores and restaurants. Would you say Portland is similar?
I’ve lived in Portland for 7 years and love it ❤ portland has its issues but so does every town. One of the best things about portland is the soccer community!
I'm so sorry about your loss. I've lost people very close in my life and still to this day I will feel moments of grief but also remember all the beautiful memories I had with them. I live close to Portland if you ever need a friend or someone to get coffee with let me know! I've really enjoyed your content and it inspires me to want to grow and figure things out in my life as well.
I can def relate to you talking about dealing with grief. I had lost my father ten years ago and I still feel sadness. Grief tends to comes in waves and what and how you grieve is very valid. Regarding your move I feel like be great in downtown Portland!
Honestly a long distance move like that can be so cleansing. Just knowing that it isn't practical to take most of your stuff, and letting go of what isn't vital to you. Especially after going through such a difficult time.
First, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love and hugs your way. Next, You are amazing and I am so excited for this new chapter in your life and with moving back to Oregon! Lastly, I was just in Oregon for the first time ever last weekend (Portland and Cannon Beach) absolutely loved it and it’s stunning views! I just moved to the Seattle area three months ago from Florida so everything has been life changing but in positive ways. I am looking forward to seeing all of your moving videos and new adventures!
Thank you so much Erika! Wow you just had a huge transition too. How do you like west coast compared to florida coast? I’m so glad you’re excited for the moving/oregon vlogs too 😭❤️
I’m happy for you and that you’re following your heart to be closer to family. The east coast will miss you! ☺️ Congratulations to you and David on the move. Excited to watch your journey. Sending you peace and love!🩵
So very fortunate that your job allows you to work from anywhere and that it is one less thing you have to worry about. I hope David finalizes that job and you land on your feet ok. Yes take a chance and learn from it. I am excited for you to take this journey and see where it leaves you. Blessings 😊
So proud of you for listening to your heart and making a hard decision but the right decision in the moment. So happy to hear that David will be going with you to Oregon ! Closing a old chapter opening a new one !
@@SelenaTrevino absolutely! You have such a great support system and we’re all just rooting for you. I think this is exciting & such a fun new experience for you.
Sorry for your loss, I fully understand cousin relationship…they are essentially extra siblings. Congratulations on your move and Congrats to David! Look forward to watching the new journey 😊
I am so excited for your journey. It's always a nervous but so excited. Happy for David too I was worried he wouldn't go so I am sooo happy for you both. You both deserve the world.
So Sorry for your loss! I have to say that I was so sorry to see you selling everything to move back to Oregon, but I'm happy to hear bae is coming with you and that you're keeping your job and that the move was your decision. I had a different experience: After being married for almost 10 years and living in the same city as my family for all my life, me and my husbad moved to another city , away from our family (for a job) and it was the best decision ever! We love our both families very much, but not living at the same city was life changing! We are now so much happier since we don't have to participate in all the little arguments/fights. We were always trying to help everyone, or keep the peace between every member of the family and things like that! Now when we visit or they visit is always fun and calm... Hope you have a great time in Oregon and that everything goes as you expect!
Thank you luciana’ honestly I'm going into it with an open mind, not trying to have many or any expectations at all just trying to give it a chance. :) praying for the best!
(I've been catching up with your videos) I'm so very sorry to her about your relative. I had a super similar situation, my boyfriend and our dog was visiting family and I stayed behind for my (then) job. I got a call saying my aunt died. I didn't have any cousins close to my age so I grew close to my aunts. This was the first very significant loss and finding out alone hurts so much more. And I sadly had a panic attack when I saw her in the casket because I was in denial.
I am so excited for you and your cross country move! I started watching you in the past year and I enjoy your content. You move wherever your heart desires girl, I'll be right here along for the ride!
I’m so sorry for your loss Selena! I grew up very close to my cousins as well so my heart aches for you. Sending all my blessing to you & David on this new adventure, I’m so excited for y’all!! ❤😆🫶🏾
So so sorry for the loss of your cousin. Family is so important & I’m excited you & David will be moving closer to your family 🤍! You will never ever regret getting the chance to make more memories with them!
Hi Selena happy Thursday afternoon and I hope you having amazing week and I loved your week day vlogs and im proud of you and so happy you posted yesterday
so sorry for your loss 🤍 excited for all the new blessings coming your way though. you deserve it all! i’m also moving back home with family right now & am excited but nervous 😅
I’ve tried Kachka, it was really good! My best friend is Belarusian so we went theee for her bday a few years ago. But I’ll def add café soro soro to the list 🫶🏽
My condolences for the loss of your cousin. I'm extremely close to my cousins too. It would totally kill me to lose them. Sending lots of love your way!
I loved the style of this video! Excited to see your moving adventure as a Portland native (now live in TX). Praying for your grief process and this next season of life Selena 💕
I experience grief in waves as well, totally understand what you mean. I hope you have moments of peace to look back on your happy memories in between the waves hitting. And that the distance between the waves slowly increases. On another note, it is so exciting for you to fulfill a wish to move back closer to family. I have been in Portland for the last 7 years and am still a fan. If you ever do a meet up, I would love to participate. For some random food recommendations, I love taste tickler off of NE Broadway for sandwiches and assembly brewing off of SE Foster for Detroit-style pizza. Wishing you a smooth transition over the next few months ❤
Hey, it's super important to be with loved ones at a hard time like this! I also recently moved to Portland from the Midwest and it is definitely not like the media makes it out to be. There are of course issues like with any city and moving is always an adjustment but I have met a lot of great people here and I never want to leave ❤
I am in the Portland Metro! So, I recommending a few cart pods that have delish Latino food. Portland Mercado and Cartlandia. In Cartlandia there is a place that sells the best pupusas in Portland and another that’s sells barbacoa (Mis Abuelos Barbacoa) and is very Mexican authentic.
Ugh yea I'm so excited to get back to all the authentic Mexican foods that I've missed so much the last 5 years 😭 I haven't been to cartlandia in a couple years - I'm so excited to go there in the summer!!
Soo proud of you for being so strong in this chaotic time. ❤ I've had a similar past year of loss & chaos since moving from GA to WA, but it will get better. Welcome back to the West Coast! I'm up in Olympia if you ever find yourself there :)
I’m so sorry for your family loss Selena sending positivity to you all ❤️ also congrats on the move I hope everything goes smoothly! I also live in Portland so if you ever want a new friend I got you girl 🫶🏼
I’m so sorry for your loss 😢 What an adventure moving back to Oregon. I live in Portland now and some things I want to do this summer are seeing the lavender farms in Mt Hood and taking the ski lift up the mountain 😊
Great to hear and see you back. I pray that God continues to give you and family strength in this moment of grief and bless you in your new chapter of a new beginning.💞💞
I've visited family friends in Oregon and I loved it so I absolutely understand how someone who grew up there may crave moving back. Excited to see you embark on a new journey and looking forward to all your recommendations for when I visit Oregon again! ❤
I was born and raised in the DMV and I love living in DC but I’ve been thinking about moving to the Midwest because it’s cheap and the nature looks beautiful so I cannot wait to see the Oregon content! I’m so happy for you to be closer to your family❤
Thank you so much Gaby! 🤍 honestly, I think everyone should move away from their home state atleast once! It really has been an experience I’ll cherish my entire life. I’m so grateful, maybe you’d enjoy the Midwest? You never know until you try! Which is why I’m committing to a trial year.
I’m so sorry for your loss 😔 I can understand your pain. I recently lost a cousin also (my dads-brothers-child) so he was like a brother/child to us in the family. Like you, first in the family, his death brought us all together and made us all realize that we needed to stop being so distant from one another and remind us to check in on eachother. (También una familia mexicana 🩷) and also like you, I live far from my family, living in Texas while everyone is in California. I pray you and your family find comfort and peace during this difficult time 🩷
Selena, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I can tell your cousin was so loved by your family. I pray that God will continue to bring you and David new opportunities as you move to Oregon and begin your next chapter there.💛💛
I’m so happy you’re moving to the west coast ❤ I lived in Boston for college and it made me hate the east coast so much I had to move back to the west as soon as I graduated lol best of luck with your move back home :)
no way? I'm glad you atleast got to experience the east coast. But I will say, I have a friend who lived in Boston for work and didn't like it much, then moved to NYC and she enjoys living there so east coast states def vary, I love DC! ❤ that's why it's so hard to leave
So sorry for your loss ❤ I had a somewhat similar experience of living in the DC area for about 5 years and then moving back to the PNW last summer. I’d been thinking about moving home for a long time but after my mom and grandma each had some serious health scares, it became clear that I needed to be back home and with family. I drove from DC to Seattle last July and ended up staying with my parents for almost 10 months while I looked for my own place that I just moved into last weekend! I am so excited for your next chapter and to see where you go from here!
I’m definitely looking in downtown Portland! There’s a couple places I really liked, I’ll maybe move in the fall since summer is the most expensive time of the year to move I’ll probably stay with my fam for the summer months.
Hey! Selena your vlogs are too too too comfort to watch and I am so so excited to watch this vlog you are my inspiration and I wish you have a wonderful day!💕💫☺️
I’m so sorry for your family’s loss, Selena! I just want to say congrats on making the big decision to go back to be closer to family! Now, your bf will get to experience what you’ve been through, being away from his family. Praying blessings on this new transition! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Selena, thank you so much for bearing your heart and sharing your life's up and downs with us. My condolences again on your cousins passing. Never easy to lose someone and hard when so far away from family. I can relate. Live in Oregon and family is all in Massachusetts. I am glad you had time with your friend in Vegas and that healing time with your family. I am excited that you can be here in OR and make those memories with your family once again. Also, happy that your BF is going too. Rooting for you! Therapy and God can make things better w time. Just remember to take more time for yourself. Especially in this transition. Those who care will be right here waiting for you. Much love, Waleska
For hikes on the East side of Portland, I recommend Powell Butte, Mt. Tabor, & Oxbow Regional Park. For the West side, Tryon Creek and Mary Young Park is nice! There’s too many good food cart/restaurant/coffee shop in the area you can’t go wrong haha

I've visited family friends in Oregon and I loved it so I absolutely understand how someone who grew up there may crave moving back.
Excited to see you embark on a new journey and looking forward to all your recommendations for when I visit Oregon again! ❤
thank you! I hope ya'll enjoy the new adventures ❤
I am excited that you are coming back to Portland. Even if it’s a short time!! ❤
thank you stacey, I'm excited too ❤
I was born and raised in the DMV and I love living in DC but I’ve been thinking about moving to the Midwest because it’s cheap and the nature looks beautiful so I cannot wait to see the Oregon content!
I’m so sorry for your loss 😔
I can understand your pain.
I pray that God will continue to bring you and David new opportunities as you move to Oregon and begin your next chapter there.💛💛
she really was ❤ thank yo so much Lindsey!
My condolences to you and your family 💔🕊
I'm SO EXCITED for your new journey! Best of luck to you and your bf! Safe travels! 💛💫
thank you so much ❤
you should live in downtown portland! if that's something that you've always been curious about
I’m definitely looking in downtown Portland! There’s a couple places I really liked, I’ll maybe move in the fall since summer is the most expensive time of the year to move I’ll probably stay with my fam for the summer months.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss, Selena! I just want to say congrats on making the big decision to go back to be closer to family! Now, your bf will get to experience what you’ve been through, being away from his family. Praying blessings on this new transition! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Sending you hugs & luv
thank you Cavian ❤
