      That’s a good point. When I search for boilie making I don’t want to go through the process of ordering powders, waiting for them to arrive, etc. I’m in the USA though, so it’s harder for me to get standard mixes!

      Some syndicates don't allow shelf life baits 😔 if you're fishing a lot this is cheaper alternative to buying freezer baits in bulk

    So relaxing to look at this video. Unfortunately I think fishing now days, especially carp fishing got so technical and complicated with baits, rigs, gear etc. that I'm having the impression that is not fishing anymore. So to do all this you either must work for Mainline or other or you must be unemployed 🤣

      All I use is corn from a can here in the USA. Hair rigs don't seem to make a difference where I fish

    To be perfectly honest, this seemed more like an ad for mainline than a tutorial on how to make boilies. Like other people have also said already, what even is the point of making them yourself if practically all ingredients you use are pre fabricated mainline ingredients? Why wouldn't we just buy premade mainline boilies then..?

    What's the best time of year to use boilies and what's the best time of year to use pellets

    • @MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV
      @MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shay, you can use both throughout the year, it's the quantities that may change as in you may use just a few boilies or a small bag of pellets in winter when the fish can be less active and less hungry. Thats providing when it comes to the pellets they don't have too high a fat/oil content - our Response Pellets are perfect!

    Hello Mainline, once made and dried for 24 hours, do they need to be kept frozen till use or can you... say for example leave in a pot/glug pot in your bag to use over a month or two etc. cheers all the best

    • @MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV

      If you air dry some for hookbaits, so dry for a little longer say a few days, then glug with the Hookbait Enhancement system, then yes that should be okay - otherwise its best to store frozen.

    Get a nutribullet and mix flesh (like liver) with oils, liquids and egg powder (use powder egg because your solution will be more dense therefore ml for ml it has more nutrition and attractions) the egg also acts as an emulsify.
    Then buy your self some fish meal like prov 66, goat powder milk (cheaper and gram for gram has more protein than whey or casein) then maybe peanut flour (use ingredients that are highly dense in nutrients so peanuts over tiger nuts because gram for gram have more nutrients) and oat flour.
    From the powders
    Fish meal = fats and protein
    Milk powder = protein and fat
    Peanuts = fats and protein
    Oat flour = carbs and fats
    All have different levels of essential and non essential amino acids plus minerals and vitamins
    Mix liquids with powders and not only is this cheaper but it’s the best way to make a dense nutritional bait with everything a carp will want because they are getting everything from one food source and a lot in a little amount.
    Also it’s better to bake than to boil as boiling weakens the attraction and tends to destroy a lot of nutrients compared to baking at a moderate temperature for longer.
    Hope this helps lads.
    Tight lines

    • @lukeh350
      @lukeh350 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Going to give your method a try! Can I ask what oils & and attractant did you use? Also is there a ratio for each ingredient? Never made boilies so trying things out. Thanks 😊

    • @jessicapotter4648
      @jessicapotter4648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luke Haken i like to use a mixture of cod liver oil, salmon oil, belachan liquid and betain liquid and i add in whole egg powder to help combine the liquids then il add beefs liver (as much as I can to increase the nutritional value) aswell as sugar, rock salt and some concentrated flavours like squid ade and a fishy concentrate.

    • @jessicapotter4648
      @jessicapotter4648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apart from the concentrates I used ALOT of the other stuff oils n liquids so the overall nutritional value far exceeded everything else !!! Per kilo I have made boilies with calorie counts ranging from 1000-7000 kcals per kilo

    • @jessicapotter4648
      @jessicapotter4648 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also when I added to a spomb mix because of the high amounts of liquids and oils they continuously released attractiveness goodies especially when used in a ridgemonky boilie chopper/crusher crushed boilies are brilliant and so under used!

If you're looking to roll something similar so say our Response Ready Made boilies we'd suggest using our 50/50 High Leakage Base Mix and your choice of flavours. I never buy readymades in freezer form.
      The shops could have had them for months and months and even longer.
      More fun and pleasure rolling your own, and knowing how fresh they are.
      One pointer, freshly rolled paste should be rolled, straight away. Do not freeze it as it will be a bugger to roll once frozen.
      Recently, i rolled 4 batches of an 8 egg mix of essential cell and froze it for a later date. Now i have, around 5k of essential cell crumb. At least it won't go to waste as i love boilie crumb.

    • @MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV

      Sounds like the paste is too dry - when you build the paste you want to get to a point where the paste is still wet to the touch but doesn't stick to your hand. Also, keep your paste in a plastic bag before or while rolling so it doesn't dry out before going on the table.
