    These builds are amazing! I am 70 and been a working toolmaker all my life. These vids give me goals to reach for fishing and take my small boats to the next level. Thank you for the inspiration to start to build again so I can go barefoot fishing in a refurbished boat.

    Great project!
    Based on basic physics, the foam that you removed does not have to be replaced to provide extra normal buoyancy to the boat. The foam existed in the original build of the boat to provide lightweight structure to the seats, and maybe some buoyancy if the boat would be sinking (taking water while left uncovered on a dock, normal situation for day boat renting businesses on small lakes, or if getting flipped over).

    i really enjoyed this video, as a marine tech ive learned some things i will use in the future, on a side note i cannot stress how important it is too label wires, service or installs, i even go as far as labeling batteries, main battery, trolling batteries 2-3 ect for 24-36v systems. 9 times out of 10 customers bring it back to load test, replace batteries, chargers ect, and labeling everything makes my job 100 times easier, its hard to remember how you have installed things when you work on 100 boats a month and its later on you have too service it, ALWAYS LABEL!

    I’m just catching up on the boats and the hard work here. I don’t know where to start, video edits and the craftsmanship is outstanding. This is what happens when you find something you love and show it to the world. You took it step farther and decided it wasn’t enough that we knew how to fish but started helping people build a cheaper better boat to catch more fish. This man needs an award.

    Wow! Love this boat! I’m just getting back into fishing after a few years and starting from scratch…no gear, no baits, no boat. I’m stocking up on my gear and the last thing on my list is an affordable boat. I’m glad I stumbled upon this page and this group of people. These videos give me hope that I may someday have a bass-worthy boat!
    Thanks!

      Fish don't care what you have for a boat. Only fishing snobs do. I've caught some monster fish from a $400 kayak. No electrical gadgets, no motors- just me, my rod, a paddle and the kayak. You can get into spots where no boat will go, and very stealthily too.

    This was amazing to watch really good work!! When I was a kid I loved my time 12ft alumacraft and did my own little build nothing comparable to this but it helped me win or place in the top 5 on many local open boat tourneys against guys in full blow bass boats. Some may have laughed at my rig but not when I brought the catch in haha.

    I didn't realize until a few minutes in that was a brand new boat. Me and a buddy took a new 16ft with all bench seats and ripped it up and made a sweet little bay boat. It had a floor, front deck, center console with a 30hp, that was one tuff little boat.

    I'm loving these videos. I'm very seriously considering selling my Stratos, that I otherwise really enjoyed, and going with one of these. Seems like each year I'm dumping a ton of money into it just to get it ready for the season. I want something simple to maintain. And, it's almost always just me fishing.

    I was going to do this to my Semi-V 14' boat but after watching you guys I already give up! lol You do some cool stuff but man does that look labor intensive and expensive. Way out of my league. I lost my fire to work on my boat after seeing this. More power to the people who can afford the time and money to do it.

    great job & video !! but you could encounter a serious problem from chafed wires that pass thru the back panel to components rubber grommets needed.

  • @mikecooke4602
    @mikecooke4602 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It all looks fantastic !! However i have one observation !!! Running those electrical wires through your switch panel you should use a grommet of some type !! Running a live wire through a hole drilled in the aluminium looks great but with vibrations will eventually cut through the insulation and eventually short out !!!!!! IMHO
