Yes I hate the trend of infesting online multiplayer shooters with AI bots, like with what Fortnite did. You feel good about yourself until you realize it’s just bots and then the moment you face someone who’s actually real and you die/lose, you just feel worse about yourself. Most people i encounter after noticing a team of bot, is everyone that isn't will say "Bro who cares.. play.." most people are Consuming product and not asking questions which is even sadder, it's no real beef to me cause i can simply uninstall the game cause i don't have weak willpower, if something is shitty and i know a company is gonna KEEP going with it, its not worth staying around getting Fake "feel good" games so you are inclined to tell yourself "SEE! i fucking RULE At this game! :D better buy some skins for character i like now! " I gave them 5 bucks for the battle pass and that is ALL i am going to spend until this BOT situation is eliminated.
Game's Normal/Hard AI are good, sometimes way too good because of their insta-aim, and they can actually make some smart plays. When the Rivals AI decides "nope, you ain't gonna win" it's game over. Even on Normal. The quick match bots are overrunning the game now. Seems every QM has at least 2 now, and I had a QM where the entire enemy team were bots and an additional bot on my own team. They always have View Career locked down too.
Another hint that you played in a bot match is to check their profiles after the game. All of your opponents have their profile set to private you probably faced bots.
Easiest way to tell for sure there are bots is that they spray the default spray twice before the round starts, once on the floor and once on the door right before it opens. It's an anti-tilt thing as far as I can tell, gives you one of these cheesy bot matches after you lose 2-3 quick matches in a row so you don't rage quit.
Just got destroyed and insulted tonight, this game is great but when people would rather six stack quickplay and ruin peoples individual games (yes i was straight focused, objective didn't exist to them) it makes me want to quite, so I play moon knight and i am not getting constant triples but I just wanted to have fun, this kne experience is really pushing me to stay away from comp, despite leveling for it...
Maybe they do this for the absolute newest players but zero shot you get bots once you're not so bad they literally can't find any real players bad enough to put against you haha

There are bots in Rivals quick play. If I lose 2 in a row, I'll get a bot game. On my team, 2 will be bots, and on the enemy team, all 6 will be bots. It's basically a huge waste of time.
Easiest way to spot bots in this game: They typically will always follow the FirstLast naming system with half of the last name cut of ie. JoanCo, ReggieLow etc. However I have seen some bots use "normal" names; I came across one called yuggi the other day. Their movements are all pretty bot like too and you can almost always notice this in spawn for example if you have a bot Luna Snow she will CONSTANTLY be switching her snowflake between teammates while waiting and while on the way to point repeatedly. After the match is done if you want to check their profile you never can as every single bot has a private profile. Also, when you go to recent players after the match you can guarantee they're always between level 1-10, usually on the lower end.
The best thing you can tell is after the match check the replay and try to look at their profile. If you are not allowed to check their profile (the whole team) it's bots.
This is heart breaking and scary. I believe these things existed before but now are more pronounced and more exposed. This could also mean people at the top spots might have been not as good but are at top because they went against bots not actual players. This is a great way to keep the game alive forever. Most people are not going to check these things after winning easy matches. Ai is really filling in the fantasies from not just ai girlfriends but even as successful gamer. This is so sad.
i wonder if those bots count towards the obscenely high player counts that rivals has. honestly i kinda doubt it, but especially since the playercount is increasing so late after launch makes me think it is a possibility
I KNOW I had bots in my ranked matches. I tried to block all my teammates for 3 matches straight and half of them don't show up in search. I purposely took a screenshot and then manually entered them in so I didn't get teamed with them again and there are no profiles to be found. I'm getting 18 kills and everyone else is getting 0-5 kills and the same 2 healers are ALWAYS on my team and they NEVER HEAL!
I keep hearing about these bot matches after you lose 2-3 in a row or something but I checked my match history and still haven't faced any. At least, not beyond my very first game, which I think *everyone* faces bots in their first game.
Met a guy in game by him literally going in chat "anyone on the other team real" and i said "real questions" We learned we two were the only real people. Even our teammates, our two supports literally bugged out movement at the end, as they wouldn't leave each other and were trying to heal us through a wall, but pathfinding wouldn't let them move around the corner. It'd get down to the time limit and it felt like the AI would lock in so im thinking maybe the defensive AI also starts not advancing as much, to make the match go on longer. The ai profiles appear at the BOTTOM of my recent players list, are restricted access when you click their match history, and most noticeably have two parts to their username. So DottiDan is almost certainly a bot name. But "mlto"? That might be the only human on that team. I thought maybe it could be like TF2 bots (like cheater ai) but I don't think so, why would the profiles be restricted; which I think is a different profile option from private that is unavailable to players.
I had one of these games. We were dominating them holding them at the spawn door. Then suddenly it looked like they activated hard aimbot and killed us and took first point. When I went back to watch the vod of the game from their pov I figured out it was an AI bot team. They had trouble even making it out the spawn doors.
Yeah, there are bot lobbies in MR and you can get them if you start losing enough matches in QP. It's not very fun, honestly. It's why I started playing ranked.
I can confirm. They have strange behaviors(particularly the melee heroes) and have very generic TAGs. In History you cannot view the entire team's career profile and they are all on PC. Two will also be on your team. This occurs after a loss or two.
guys I'm pretty sure this is apart of there system. after around every 3 losses in a row in quick play they deliberately put you into match full of bots to adjust your win rate. you can tell you're in a bot lobby when you die to one of them and they are level 1 with a character border since you cant buy those straight away when u start the game, unless with money. When I get these lobby's I tend to just farm them for my proficiency.

I notice bots would hold on to ults a lot. They also don't separate much. So like no independent flankers that are way too far from the rest of the team.

There are absolutely bots in Quick Match. Despite playing MR every day since release, I have never had a three game loss streak on QM. Why? Because after every two losses (sometimes after one loss but like clockwork after two without fail), the game puts you up against a bot team. And they aren't even AI Normal difficulty, they are AI Easy if that (I've played vs AI Easy and Normal to compare). Tells are the enemy team ALWAYS runs 2-2-2 comp and any swaps they make are always within the role they picked at the start (basically the enemy team has role queue enabled). After the game, which will be a pubstomp where your entire team will go 20+ elims and 0-1 deaths, if you go to your History, all six "players" on the enemy team will ALWAYS have their profile set to private (it's public by default). And if you spectate them, you see through the wall tracking, exceptional tracking of say a Spider-Man swinging full speed past them yet somehow they only manage 0-1 kills barring Ults. The whole game is a complete waste of time, you don't learn anything, you don't punished for anything. My first MR game ever I went 27-0, looking back, 99.9% sure that was a bot match too. First time testing SW, 33-0, Iron Man 31-0, the list goes on and on. It's gotten to the point where loading into a game after two losses, I straight up type into chat "I've lost two in a row, we're in a bot match." And so far, have been correct every time.
I have yet to encounter these. I checked my entire match history and couldn't find any bot matches unless they mix bots onto teams with real players too.

Does this happen to ranked games too? I swear in my other account, these teammates are a lot more frequent, most especially in metal rank. They just go straight to where the action is and are usually together. Even if you say let's regroup in voice or type "guys regroup first" in chat or ping the standard regroup button command. It's either they're bots or are kids or are first time shooter games players. Not a good experience seriously. It's like they're out there to be your teammates and the game assesses if you can carry these "players."
So people don't know this, but this isn't someone cheating. Its literally bot added into the game by the dev. Basically, if you loose a bunch of games you get thrown into an AI lobby that are on easy mode so you can "feel good" about winning and continue playing.
I've played other NetEase games in the past and there being bot lobbies isn't new by any means. Like others have said, you usually only get bots if you go on a pretty bad lose streak. I'm unsure how Marvel Rivals is (don't play it/watch many videos) but at least with their other games, an easy first give away for a bot lobby is if the player(s) select their character almost immediately. From then on, it's pretty easy to tell based on movement and whatnot.
The worst thing,the lose streak doesn't even need to be that bad... If your last game was horrible, like 1 4 0, or 0 4 0, you can be placed with bots... even if it's a "lose streak" of a single game. Or maybe it's also to keep the wr at 50%
There are definitely developer implemented AI bots in the game. Probably just at the first couple matches or low elos. There is even a mode to train with human players vs AI bots in the game. This character behaves almost exactly like that

I'm almost convinced I also encountered a bot of some kind. Seeing when they snap and track you with robot like precision isn't normal, especially when you notice the lack of any jerky movement during it.
Not how it works. Those bots don't have Steam/Epic/PS5/Xbox accounts. They are generated in-game. The 20,000,000 are active accounts playing. I mean Steam alone has 400k players.

@@lilywong9672 that was not his point. His point (I believe) was that no wonder they have the massive player count with your morale being boosted every loss or two because you got a boo boo. So more happy players means more consistent numbers. I really like the game so far but I feel disgusting that I may have had my spirits raised through false means and I dont like that feeling, Id rather get stomped 7 times in a row than be in one more bot lobby. I hope they change this (zero hope that they will its netease) but it looks like I'll be only playing ranked from now on after seeing this. Its too bad because I like quickplay as a more casual laid back try out new heroes kind of thing, what I dont want to do is have my ego boosted by bots, gross.

After finding out, it basically killed any desire to play again. Even if you lose a single game the game might put you against bots, then waste your 5 minutes while you spawn camp them. No fun, no challenge, no learning...what do you expect from chinese mobile publisher.
Marvel Rivals got PVE before Overwatch... But seriously though, it's kinda sad that a "PVP" game puts bots in the game to manipulate kids/dumb players.
They get better and more motivated after this and play the game more, why not? No actual player is losing that much and this helps you play new chracters more easily, i dont really see a problem here.

The way it instinctively press V when someone gets too close as Hawkeye, might mean it's a bot. It also swaps to the other arrows when people gets close to it. (Something no Hawkeye player does) *EDIT* also, i don't mean the V button, but rather the Hawkeye skill that does a knock-back with the sword.

If youre getting these bot lobbies and arent absolutely brand new youre either seeing things that aren't real, lying on the internet for attention, or are so bad the game cant find enough players bad enough to put against you
I'm the alleged cheater (dottidan). I appreciate receiving the benefit of the doubt but I am in fact a long time player with over 200 hours in the beta. I was grouped with the doctor and we were both having a strange reaction from the sugar free gummies.
I had a match last night where I swear to God it was five people on my team were bots. I literally just looked at what they were doing and like for the first 30 seconds the Loki didn’t put down a clone, and several abilities. Just it didn’t make any sense. They all walked very similarly and grouped up in weird ways, and took weird pathing. But I thought there’s no way that it was for real and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I went like 30 and 0 on wolverine and thought I was tearing it up, when I realized it was just bots. Felt worse after that.

If they are enemies you also can't hide from them behind corners or something. Once you enter their zone of awareness they spot you.

Best way to tell is by playing Groot the bots always aim at the same spot on his walls. At the bottom in the middle.
I was starting to wonder if they were sliding in bots to make sure everyone has those instant queue times. Now I know they definitely have bots

I've played a few practice vs ai matches to get some missions done and you'd be shocked how bad a lot of people are in there against easy bots.

I've played other NetEase games in the past and there being bot lobbies isn't new by any means. Like others have said, you usually only get bots if you go on a pretty bad lose streak. I'm unsure how Marvel Rivals is (don't play it/watch many videos) but at least with their other games, an easy first give away for a bot lobby is if the player(s) select their character almost immediately. From then on, it's pretty easy to tell based on movement and whatnot.
But one thing I will say is: they tend to "copy" actual usernames that people have to make it seem like you are actually playing with real people
The worst thing,the lose streak doesn't even need to be that bad... If your last game was horrible, like 1 4 0, or 0 4 0, you can be placed with bots... even if it's a "lose streak" of a single game. Or maybe it's also to keep the wr at 50%
There are definitely developer implemented AI bots in the game. Probably just at the first couple matches or low elos. There is even a mode to train with human players vs AI bots in the game. This character behaves almost exactly like that

@@emirlerdtm6774 Yes, the bots only appear in quickplay. But their appearence doesn't seem tied to any kind of MMR, so it's not a thing for beginners only.

I'm almost convinced I also encountered a bot of some kind. Seeing when they snap and track you with robot like precision isn't normal, especially when you notice the lack of any jerky movement during it.
No wonder they have like a 20 million player count on this game lol
Not how it works. Those bots don't have Steam/Epic/PS5/Xbox accounts. They are generated in-game. The 20,000,000 are active accounts playing. I mean Steam alone has 400k players.
@lilywong9672 Yeah I know lol but it's easy to see why it has so many players. I still like playing Overwatch but Rivals is a ton of fun too. It's crazy how many players it has though.
@@lilywong9672 that was not his point. His point (I believe) was that no wonder they have the massive player count with your morale being boosted every loss or two because you got a boo boo. So more happy players means more consistent numbers. I really like the game so far but I feel disgusting that I may have had my spirits raised through false means and I dont like that feeling, Id rather get stomped 7 times in a row than be in one more bot lobby. I hope they change this (zero hope that they will its netease) but it looks like I'll be only playing ranked from now on after seeing this. Its too bad because I like quickplay as a more casual laid back try out new heroes kind of thing, what I dont want to do is have my ego boosted by bots, gross.

After finding out, it basically killed any desire to play again.
Even if you lose a single game the game might put you against bots, then waste your 5 minutes while you spawn camp them. No fun, no challenge, no learning...what do you expect from chinese mobile publisher.

But seriously though, it's kinda sad that a "PVP" game puts bots in the game to manipulate kids/dumb players.
They get better and more motivated after this and play the game more, why not? No actual player is losing that much and this helps you play new chracters more easily, i dont really see a problem here.
Also this happens only on QP as far as i know.

If people want to play against bots, then they go out of their way to do it.

The way it instinctively press V when someone gets too close as Hawkeye, might mean it's a bot.
It also swaps to the other arrows when people gets close to it.
(Something no Hawkeye player does)
*EDIT* also, i don't mean the V button, but rather the Hawkeye skill that does a knock-back with the sword.

It’s definitely a bot, they perfectly track a couple times then intentionally move their crosshairs bottom right from the target
These bots usually have ultimates too early in the match. I’ve seen ultimates used on the first match in the first 30 seconds. How?

It's obvious what they are once you go to practice against AI and go to hard pathing aim and decision making is the same as the bots on hard

The bots are generated in game. They don't have their own Steam account. There stilla hundreds of thousands of players playing on Steam.

I'm the alleged cheater (dottidan). I appreciate receiving the benefit of the doubt but I am in fact a long time player with over 200 hours in the beta. I was grouped with the doctor and we were both having a strange reaction from the sugar free gummies.
I had a match last night where I swear to God it was five people on my team were bots. I literally just looked at what they were doing and like for the first 30 seconds the Loki didn’t put down a clone, and several abilities. Just it didn’t make any sense. They all walked very similarly and grouped up in weird ways, and took weird pathing. But I thought there’s no way that it was for real and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
