How To Make Potatoes Au Gratin | Gratin Dauphinois | Easy Scalloped Potato Recipe

  • Today I’m sharing with you an easy scalloped potato recipe aka Potatoes Au Gratin or Gratin Dauphinois. This popular French side dish recipe is amazingly delicious and super easy to make.
    🥘Ingredients for 6 portions:
    potatoes - 1,5 kg
    cream 20% - 750 ml
    cheese - 200 g
    butter - 50 g
    garlic - 3 cloves
    salt/pepper - to taste
    nutmeg - ¼ tsp
    herbes de Provence - 1 tsp
    A 12x8-inch baking pan
    📝Instructions:
    ▪️ Preheat the oven to 180°C
    ▪️ Brush the pan with butter+minced garlic
    ▪️ Slice the potatoes 1-3 mm thick, using a knife or a mandoline
    ▪️ Spread ⅓ of the potatoes in the pan
    ▪️ Sprinkle with salt, pepper, nutmeg and herbs
    ▪️ Sprinkle with 40 g of grated cheese
    ▪️ Pour ⅓ of the cream
    ▪️ Repeat the same for the 2nd and 3rd layers
    ▪️ Bake for about 50 minutes
    ▪️ Remove from the oven and top with the remaining cheese
    ▪️ Bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden
    ▪️ Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving
