Glad you enjoyed Silver Spoon. Hatchiken’s story is basically my undergraduate life since I majored in Animal Science but also grew up in the city. The clash of worlds and learning about Agriculture was so inspiring and very very accurate. The story telling was beautifully written and the characters relatable. I still need to complete it (I read up to ch103)but I enjoyed it so much that’s it’s getting added to my collection at some point in the future
yes!! silver spoon is so good, personally i went to a very agriculture-centric high school and college but i was never a part of the programs, always an outsider looking in so i found it so interesting reading more about topics i had only heard in passing from friends, etc.
I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while but it bothered me that I don’t have a manga for every letter so I never did it lol. But using the Japanese titles is an interesting workaround. You have lots of great recs on this list!

Out of all the recs I'm definitely going to pick up Cherry Magic, it's been recommend by others as well. Wish that Genshiken could get some reprints, would love to have the first season.
do it!! and let me know how you end up liking cherry magic (there is also a live action drama for it available on crunchyroll that is adorable) ,, and me too TT the singles for genshiken were from del rey so the omnibuses were already a reprint but idk why those never got a second run

i absolutely love Our Not-So Lonely Planet Travel Guide! when you mentioned it before, i picked it up the 2 vols and so glad i did bc the couple is super endearing and it's such a fun read as we go along in their journey 🥲 i enjoy traveling a lot irl so this was such a perfect pairing 🥰 both Restart After's, i adore. particularly the second one! that and Until I Meet My Husband had me tearing up.
excited for the Tomo-chan anime! that was a fun read so can't wait to see it early next year. speaking of anime, i was considering just watching the anime for Dr. Stone 👀
cherry magic is so good! there is also a live action drama available on crunchyroll so i recommend if you want to get a little taste of the series! and glad we have the same opinion on some of my other recs 👁 the dr.stone anime is great but the art in the manga is amazing, the artist is top tier and i don't think the anime captures it exactly even though the story is well translated
@@tsukkinotes i used to watch so many live action dramas. i recently rewatched the ao haru ride one so maybe this is it's chance for a comeback. but i'll def keep Cherry Magic on my future pick up list! and ahh ok i see, thanks for the dr. stone insight! i never really knew the premise and only recall seeing obscure anime trailers XD but i'll consider the manga
I probably wouldnt have enough manga to make an A to Z but half of mine probably would be sports manga lol (Ashita no joe, Baby Steps , Diamond no ace, Hajime no ippo, etc). Vinland saga and Ping pong are 2 faves. I love Blue period so definitely reading Black Canvas. Witch hat seems interesting too
in doing this i have come to see that my favorite genres are sports, romance, and slice of life lol but yes highly recommend blank canvas! such an amazing little series

i just went to the library a few days ago and i picked up something called "look back" by the author of chainsaw man! its about two girls that drew manga strips in their school newspaper, and they ended up doing some manga oneshots together until one of them goes to art school. its just one volume but its kinda sad yet kinda cute so i think you could try that out :)

thank you! and personally i would only read part 2 to see what the characters in part 1 are doing in the future, other than that the whole vibe of the story is different and there is rampant homophobia and transphobia in like every chapter 💀
I will say something, that will get me cancelled because fanboys get super defensive about it but...Slam Dunk is massively overrated and I am saying that as a someone who quite likes it and respects it's legacy. So don't go in with expectations too high.

oop 👁 i've literally never heard a negative opinion about slam dunk but i'll keep that in mind,, acca is so great, i love natsume ono so you know i had to have one of her works on here
Haikyuu and kuroko are also overrated for me lol. In the West I feel like slam dunk isn't overrated but in Japan it easily is imo. I'm a fan of the series though. It only eventually slips lower down my favourites because of other series
