Thanks! Yes, that is the Sunset campsite, at the convergence of Lockwood Creek and Piru Creek (Lockwood Flat). It is the perfect lunch spot when running these trails! It is also the perfect spot to turn around if you're not looking to attempt the climb up Alamo Mountain on Miller Jeep Trail.
Thanks! I believe it is called Dutchman Campground. The road to get there is graded dirt and doesn't require 4wd. It is long and twisty though. It is Gold Hill Road coming out of Hungry Valley and I believe that there are signs along the route for Alamo Mountain.
Thank you! I feel like the rocks at 29:00 and 33:00 would be incredibly challenging for a CRV. That's not to say it couldn't be done. Does the vehicle have extra clearance other than larger tires?
@@trailsfromthedash Thanks for your reply... No lift, stock height with larger tires. about 6 inch clearance. Are there other trails? If i decide to turn back around is it easy to do? and lastly is it a one way trail?
It is not a one way trail and you could definitely turn around. The campsite around 21:00 is just past where the two trails meet and is about 10+ miles in. It is actually common for people to go that far and then turn around and go back. I can't really comment on other trails in the area, as I haven't been on many. There are none that you would want to go on that connect to this one though.
@@trailsfromthedash thank you again for your response. I appreciate the information. I’m going to check it out tomorrow. I hope I can make it to the campsite at least and turn back around 😁 I will reply with my experience when I get back.
@@fernandomartinezreyna1836 Wait! I obviously forgot to mention that this trail is closed in the winter! I'm sorry, but you'll probably need to wait a few months to try it. Feel free to check with the Los Padres Forest rangers to be sure.
There are a couple spots where lockers would be helpful, especially for a less experienced wheeler, or if the trail is muddy, but they aren’t necessary.
Awesome video! Is that Sunset Campground u come up to at the 21:00 mark?

Cool video. Did you enter in on Lockwood valley side? Not the Gorman hungry valley side?
Yes, we came in off of Lockwood Valley Road. The first section of the trail is Lockwood Creek Trail.
Thank you.
Great Video! What is the camp where the video ends? And what is the trail like from that point to Hungry Valley if you went that far? Dennis C.

Beautiful video… do you think an AWD CRV can make it? Running AT. Looks so much fun.

Do you need lockers to do this trail?
