I really appreciate your comfort in making those kits yours. I'm just getting started in the miniature world and your confidence and clear instruction is amazing to me. Most of these don't t explain anything they just give a tour of a finished product. Which I find also amazing, but leaves so many questions.

Hi Cath, just wanted to say WOW! My daughter lives in Paris and you certainly have captured the Parisienne vibe! One small suggestion would be to think 'Left Bank' and add lots of arty-farty clutter. Wherever you go in Paris, the people think they live in mini Louvres and the wackier the better! For example, a current trend is to have wooden floorboards in the garden and polished concrete floors indoors. I saw a heap of places that had random pieces of manikin dotted about... an upside down leg painted red and planted in a plant pot here, and a head painted to look like Queen Victoria and sat on a dining chair that was upside-down and the chair back concreted in a little to make the upside-down chair stand up straight there. Very odd. But brilliant fun!
Reminds me of what I did with the G. Pierce Toys "Country Estate" kit (a very large Victorian style dollhouse). It came with 1970s-ish furniture, but I wanted a nineteenth century look, so I turned the TV cabinet into a wood stove, among other things.
I love how you put your own touch which might be classic or modern.

This video was the best part of my whole day. I wish you could upload more frequently, but I totally understand why you don't! Your work is such a joy to watch. Also, "cursive d" and rotary phones?? Careful, you'll give away your age :P .... and mine, since I know what you're talking about hahahaha
The phone without the rotary part made me remember a phone we had when I was in my teens. It had no dial at all and to use it you had to tell an operator what number you were calling. Then the operator put you through. That was in the early 60s. Yep... older than dirt. LOL
missykim What? I'm only 17 and I know cursive...took a course between second and third grade! I also know what a rotary phone is.

I like both versions in different ways. The original kit is detailed but a bit cluttered. I like the modified open space. What a difference.
