Gouache is water based, which is not compatible with resin. That is why it failed. Next time try acrylic paint or alcohol inks as your resin colorant
*takes notes* I've recently bought some clay and alcohol inks so I'll keep this in mind! I can't wait to make some charms like gazoo's~ 💖
Yup! They’re also using uv resin…that doesn’t cure well if it’s too deep. That’s why they had pockets of uncured resin.
Hi, I've been working with UV resin for about 7 years, and I want to give some info from my experience/experiments:
It's true that the reason gouache doesn't work well in UV resin is because it's water based, but really so is acrylic paint to an extent. It can sometimes do the job in two part epoxy resin because the curing time allows enough water to evaporate as the resin heats up and cures. I've been successful before tinting UV resin with acrylic paint, but then I had to let it stand uncured for at least half an hour after mixing, and it seems to depend on the pigment itself (I had an awful experience with sap green but ultramarine blue was fine). It's more hassle than it's worth, and since it's so opaque you have to cure it in layers. Alcohol ink is easier since alcohol is quicker to evaporate than water, but it's not the most lightfast. It can also cause warping if you don't let the alcohol evaporate. My vote would probably be for either specific resin pigments, ground up soft pastels or colored mica.
Apologies for this wall of text, please have a lovely day everyone!
Yep acrylic was better
OMG thankyouuu so much for the long explanation😭💗 you guys are truly the best! i’ve searched the resin tutorial on youtube and google but i found no answer- once again thankyou for helping me! i’ll try to use alcohol ink/ resin pigment for the next creations hihi🥹
uv resin cures in layers! in this case I think the top layer cured before the bottom layer did, so next time u could try doing multiple but thinner layers of resin^^ u could even experiment where the bottom layer has a darker color n it gets lighter w more layers (kinda like the Minecraft glass water effect hehe)
also love the details on the ketchup one!!
aaah thankyou so much for the explanation, i’ll try this technique for my next creations- thankyou sweetie!😭💗
Idk much about uv resin so I have a question like is it mandatory to have the machine to dry up the uv resin I may sound so stupid but can you please recommend is there something I could use instead of uv resin to get that liquid like thing as I am not having that machine or that thing
@@hashihashi9919you can use a uv light or the sun. Hope that helps.
I think the bubbles add an interesting effect!!
@Seschal yeah, agree ✨️
17:08 Even with the air bubbles, it still looked nice 😮💛
hello friends- please watch in 1080p/ 1440p resolution for the best watching experience ok! hope you enjoy the video as much as i enjoyed the process🥹💐💗🌸
btw i really love the intro of this time’s video HAHAHAHA lmk what do you think!
Oki
where is the background music from? also loved this video it was so beautifully aesthetic and calming 😊
The big bubbles in the trinket dishes made it look more like water and I actually really liked it ❤
definitely cure large amounts of uv resin in layers so it won’t bubble up. but i actually don’t mind the bubbles on the pool one, it makes it looks more realistic 💖
It’s a huge miracle your video appeared in my FYP cuz I’ve been looking for videos that make these clay trinkets for the longest time (not that I wanna make them but I always knew there would be something therapeutic about watching them). Can’t wait for more videos like this!!! ❤
i love watching people do what they love!!
I love the tiny little details on the condiments 😭😻 so cute!
Doesn't matter the bubbles, they are so pretty ! Your work is always truly amazing and makes me want to create even more 🌻
The pool for sure is my favorite, followed by the condiments. The shot of the uncured resin being blown by the hairdryer makes me want to go swimming!
I love the swimming pool, the strawberry shortcake, and the Heinz bottle
UV resin should be cured in thin layers, without water-based colorants. Too thick and it won't cure, too much water content and it will fail. You can use dry pastels to color resin, or mica powder, or alcohol based colorants safely as long as you are curing the UV resin in thin layers. =^^=
THE KETCHUP AND PEANUT BUTTER MADE ME HAPPY 😊😊😊
omg the capybara 😭💕
These are some of the BEST clay trinkets I've seen 😍😍
I was so invested in this video... I NEEDED to see how these trinket dishes turned out. And that is a great attitude; yes, keep trying till the resin works out - you will definitely nail it!
I LOVE how she made the frying pan😍😍
I love them all so much! Thank you for sharing your process.
all the pieces are so pretty! It's really interesting to see how you use air dry clay as I've recently just got some 🥰

this is acc so relaxing and cute!
The little suck in bathtub is so cute!! 🥺😭💖🐤
I love your clay videos so much, please do more!! (Though I love all of your videos hehe) ❤❤
UV resin isn't really meant for big projects, so weird curing can happen. Epoxy resin is best for that. As for coloring, I'd use something that isn't water soluble like water color/gouache or paint in general (MAAAAYBE acrylic but in small doses). I wouldn't fully suggest alcoholic inks either since the colors will fade. Regular pigmented ink should work (in small doses) and epoxy & uv specific colorants would definitely work.
the layer of resin youre trying to cure in one go is way too thick so obviously only the top part will hearden, leaving the rest underneath liquid. you need to cure it in parts, very thin layers one by one on top of each other etc !
aaah i see thankyou for the explanation! i’ll try the layering technique, thankyou!🥹💗
I love all of them especially the capybara one!
These are so cute and creative
My favorite was the jam pb and ketchup the details were phenomenal
OMGGG i love ur videos sm the moment i open my youtube I IMMEDIATELY CLICKED ON UR VIDEO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
amazing piece
You should make spooky theme trinket dishes for the spooky season! That would be so cute to see little bats and ghosts!
love your art❤
its so cute i actually cried
omg so pretty😭
I love your art! I wish I could be 8 yo again and play with a kitchen set like this.
I think my favorite piece is the ketchup bottle, but strangely enough : I prefer it with less details.
It's funny : the colours you choose to paint your pieces and how you do it reminds me of vector icons... And it looks good!
i looove these videos!!!
That looks so awesome!! The capybara is adorable though 😊
this makes me want to get back into clay modelling
I think the huge bubbles are formed because of the other coating you used, it might be reacting to resin which is definitely stronger
thats why I dont use any other coating with resin cuz of the chemical reacting,..
omg it makes sense! thankyou so much for the tip, i’ll try to avoid my mistake!💗
I love the swimming pool so much
Please make more video like this
Love love love youuuuu videooo
OMGG SO CUTEEE I WANT ALLLL !!!!!!!!
Imo the bubbles make it better because now it looks like water from cute and calming animations
The capybara one looks so cute ❤ I want to make one for myself either but I don't think I can make it as cute as yours 😢
I love it.
Amazing
I would say sometimes too much paint can mess up the resin. It could be the properties of gouache that messed with it tho. I think acrylic paint is best for coloring resin for that opaque look cause you just need the smallest dot ❤
I loved the swimming pool and Heinz bottle
The capybara is the best and ty for doing my favorite animal the capybara
😮😮❤❤❤❤ love it
Such kawaii things! Just wondering what thickness is your acrylic rolling guides, please? 😊
UV RESIN TIPS
- If its still flowing like that underneath then its NOT fully cured. It must fully cure and harden. Leave it under the lamp for at LEAST 10 minutes first to cure, then check, cure longer. Cure in thin layers if its a lot of resin. Finish curing in the sun too!
- ALWAYS wear gloves when working with ANY kind of resin.
- You also need to wear a respirator mask with mask filters that is rated for RESIN fumes!
Other:
- Gouache reactivates with water. You should use acrylic paint or acrylic gouache.
I love ded so much it’s so cute
goodjob man
more similar videos please. and can i use epoxy resin instead of uv resin for the pool?
hiii just wondering what brand of resin and varnish do u use and do u recommend any that is more affordable or cheaper?
You can use an alcohol spray to break the top layer and the bubble pops!
Where did you get your inspirations from? It’s bomb, im hooked 🩵
Your creations are lovely! I would definitely use a resin coloring powder instead of gouache because regular gouache is not compatible with resin because it is water based. ❤ also if the magnets sit in the sun the color can fade because the himi gouache isn’t lightfast. I would maybe try a lightfast matte acrylic paint. ❤
Kakak ini idenya banyak sekali, semuanya sangat bagus. Rapi, pengambilan video juga bagus
I've never used resin before, but thinner coats could work. Brush some resin on, let it dry, then brush more on, and rinse and repeat till you like the result. Might be more time consuming, but it might also give you a better result.
Also, while you think it looks bad, I think it's more like a happy accident. The water in both figures looks like it's moving and rippling. If you don't tell anyone, they will say the same.
I think the air bubbles make the water look even more realistic! It feels more 3D in a way
Not sure if you will answer as I’m now just watching your video but what kind of paint do you use and what brush do you use ??? Btw really enjoyed the video might make some cute clay art.!!
How do you paint the ketchup so beautifuly, how do you know what spots to make darker and lighter. I love this style
For resin use a mica powder or alcohol inks for your next project.
Hey! may I know the music that you are using? so so nice!
Where do you get that clear rectangle so the clear is evenly flat?
Hello ! May I ask where did u buy the clay resin (or resin clay) or if it’s online what online store and what do u search?
So overrated bruv, love it
did you mean underrated?😎
He/she probably meant underrated!
And btw Overrated basically means not too good and for underrated it means it’s good or amazing!
i like the capybara pool
What kind of powder did you use when you smooth out the surface?
very good❤
Hi, what kind of transparent things do you use for rolling clay? a rolling pin and some flat sticks on the sides, what are they called?
why didn't you use gel nail polish? do you think the results would've been the same as these with resin? You mentioned before that you prefer gel nail polish over UV resin, so i was just curious
love your videos so much, btw
Link to the rolling pin and the levellling thingies pleaseeee!!
