The Robinson drop over the middle was because his front arm is pulled back right before the ball got there. Robinson planned on catching that ball by letting it hit him in the chest and cupping it with both hands. When you are in motion of doing that and 1 arm is taken out of it anybody will drop that. Robinson was 100 percent right to want a flag. The refs will never see that though so he has to fight through it more. Jones needs to lead him more too. not a lot went wrong last night. Sadly, got outplayed. DJ looked good. Some of those throws weren’t where they needed to be. I can’t be mad, actually they may end up with a couple more wins than I expected .
*REASON FOR OPTIMISM* Over Jones' career he has repeatedly improved the most flawed part of his game. First it was fumbles, then interceptions, then pocket presence, then making the right read/challenging the defense. Right now he's doing all of those things fairly well, but his deep ball accuracy is awful. And it's a good point nick made that last week he was over throwing the deep balls, this week he underthrew. That shows me that for most of these throws he has the arm strength, he's just fucking up the timing. Also - remember when jones was known to be an accurate deep passer? When he threw it deep rarely but was hitting on a good percent? (I know giants fans overrated this but still, national media was saying it too at the time). Hardly any because they were inaccurate passes. Basically what you saw on that pass to Nabers was the norm. DJ ever being a good deep ball passer is a myth created by his fanatical minions.
I think Jones has six more weeks so six more games in his Giant career. At that point Giants will be 2-7 and Jones takes a seat for the injury guarantee.
