@@jumpinjojo I am convinced that there is a group of you sad little people that just go from video to video, hitting the thumbs down and spewing your hate and discontent in the comments. If you don’t like him, why are you here, troll?
I had never read such a funny, yet respectful comment about his drumming style. If you didn't know a bit of the band history, you'd think they'd have to buy a new kit for him, after each concert.. Hehehe
I don’t like this type of music at all, but I hugely appreciate and respect his skill set behind the kit. As a drummer 4 years into my journey, and having studied many drummers of varying eras, ages, styles, and techniques, I’ve never seen anything remotely close to his approach. Fascinating. MAN I LOVE THE FUCKING DRUMS like nothing I have ever experienced in my 48 years. And the best part is it is a love that only continues to grow.
Seen this great drummer when he was just a very young teen. . His name stuck to my daughter. Heck man such great days sneaking into the old Mill in just to watch this guy perform
yes i agree they need to give this man his due this man can rock the drums and he should be up ther in the top 10 at least of best rock drummers if u ask me
More brutality than a UFC fight. It's safe to say this round goes to Shannon. Then he punches the drums and headbutts the cymbals for good measure. I love this guy, man. When he joined Godsmack, he elevated them to an entirely new level.
Okay, starting at 3:27 he does some shit I have never seen before on a drum kit. Not since seeing John Bonham on the Song Remains the Same video do that triplet fill around the kit with the reverse over hand sticking have I seen something where I had to pause and go back like 50 times to really see just what the hell is going on. Insane!!!
TH-cam - "Beast mode" and it should take you to an interview with Shannon calmly describing how he plays the drums..."If y'all would like to see a demonstration...watch this..." Then this video should play!
I liked him much better in wrathchild America, never been a big fan of godsmack I wouldn't say is underrated hes just better been around forever and always been on the forefront of metal drumming. Hell he was one of the up and coming drummers in the late 80s and 90's. With climbing the walls and 3-d, then they changed their name to souls at zero and the band fell apart..... saw them live in New Orleans during the 3-D album Tour. With his long hair skinny body and that massive drum set he used to play and I don't think it was Yamaha back in the day, I could be wrong. I think exhorter open for them which is a band from New Orleans. I got the wrathchild America in my cd player in the car. Yeah I'm old school. Thrashmetal w/ humor! Brad Bivens wrote some pretty hilarious lyrics for wrathchild. He could play the hell out of a bass too. But Larkin and the guys started wrathchild in 1978. He has been around. I forgot just how many musicians he played with before he finally found a home with godsmack. UGLY kid Hoe, candlebox, stonesour, vanilla ice( can't believe it, ice ice baby), glassjaw and Glenn Tipton 's baptism of fire. To name a few, as a hired 🔫
@2:38 he completely misses the drum roll and you can really see / hear him not hitting it as he should . I mean, obviously he’s playing to the track so he obviously does things live that wouldn’t necessarily follow the track but that particular role really stands out and you can hear it and when you watch him it’s actually funny. No big deal I am a drummer and think this guy is fucking awesome, anyway just some thing that somebody who follows music really well would be able to pick out

One of the most underrated drummers of this era
That’s a fact.
Extremely overrated.

@@Dragracer612 Personal opinion.
Damn Straight, Shannon is amazing
*Listening to Shannon play* Hmm, I could play like that.
*Watching Shannon play* Nope, definitely couldn't play like that. lol
His drumming style is so stylish. Tooooo much underrated drummer
He adds much needed drummer theatrics we have seen in a long time in rock.
Threw in the head crash at the end! 🤘He's still got it!
He hits the drums like they owe him child support.....
LOVE IT,DUDE !!!!! LMFAO !!!!!!!
LOL!
I had never read such a funny, yet respectful comment about his drumming style.
If you didn't know a bit of the band history, you'd think they'd have to buy a new kit for him, after each concert.. Hehehe
damn son.
Love this guy. He not only plays his drums, he assaults them mercilessly. Lol
One of my favorite drummers. Right up there with Tommy Aldridge.
Anyone else notice where he missed the high hat at 1:17 and hit the floor tom and played it off like it was meant to be? Solid gold.
Good eye.
He looks up, opens his eyes and says FUCK!.... hahaha so funny man, this guy is insane
Shannon and Sully erna are two of the best ever!!!
The GOAT
W.T.F., that is the most spectacularly awesome drumming I have ever seen! You rock Shannon
Everything about him!!! Beast!!!.
I don’t like this type of music at all, but I hugely appreciate and respect his skill set behind the kit. When Neil Peart praises you as a drummer you know you've made it.
He is intense , spot on and flat out unreal
Shannon’s intensity is just awesome!
Call the Exorcist))) Shanon is Great!!!
No one compares. Mr. Larkin all day!
Seen this great drummer when he was just a very young teen. . His name stuck to my daughter. Heck man such great days sneaking into the old Mill in just to watch this guy perform

Shannon is absolutely amazing...I agree he is so underrated!!!
Watching someone doing something he was born to do. Awesome!
I'm just speechless. He's in beastmode.
The first time I saw and heard S.L. I went and bought my first drum kit.
Trop génial j'avoue 👍👍👍
yes i agree they need to give this man his due this man can rock the drums and he should be up ther in the top 10 at least of best rock drummers if u ask me
The man is a beast!!
Saw him with Wrathchild America in the early 2000s. Opened for Pantera on the Cowboys From Hell tour.
No one compares!
Awesome drummer!! Seen him in concert 3 times..mind blowing!
Beautiful to watch him play.
BEAST Mode Activated 💪
Definitely my favorite drummer. I got the pleasure to see godsmack twice and it was epic both times.
Absolute beast! 😍🤩
In his book Sully called him a praying mantis on the drums and it definitely fits!
Wow, blew me away. Crazy with the arms flying.
The Best drummer of this awesome New age
More brutality than a UFC fight. It's safe to say this round goes to Shannon. Then he punches the drums and headbutts the cymbals for good measure. I love this guy, man. When he joined Godsmack, he elevated them to an entirely new level.
What a fucking BEAST !!!!!!
I love how he is so into it!
He and the “Drummer at the wrong gig”, must be related.
I've read that comment so many times.
If not, the next question would be...
Who influenced who? 😂 😂
Lol
Damn Shannon, you killed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sir. Are you gonna buy these or what?
such a badass!
Love this guy he is a animal!!
When he was younger he had the stuffed Puppet "Animal" hanging from his floor drum. They called him that back then
My favorite thing about Shannon is his use of the China... dude knows how to use it, that's for damn sure.
Shannon Larkin total bad ass !
This is gold!
Favourite drummer hands down! Awesome skills, killer style 😎
BEAST!
That's the baddest drummer I ever seen. Shannon is a beast for real.
Shannon is a BEAST! 😎
Powerful drumming.. 💪💪
Love u!!!! Beast!!
Fuck yes 🤘🤘🤘 Love that dude
Savage sob. Godsmack really took off when he came around and it's clear why.
Your still in my top 5 bro ! Bad ass Like always!!! Be safe !
Shannon great as always. Turn your audio gain down a few db.
Badass man
He’s one of my favorites & he inspires my style of drumming but he’s soooo freakishly skinny for being a drummer & just in general!
Shannon Larkin aka James Dean 😁
so stylish...
The master
Morgan Rose is a beast as well.
Сохранил столько энергии и по сей день! Смотрю его игру и мурашки по коже! МЕГАкрутой ударник!
Okay, starting at 3:27 he does some shit I have never seen before on a drum kit. One of my all time favorites even tho his arms are practically a set of 5b!
Him and Ray Luzier...perfect examples of when bands hire a drummer they don't deserve.
Quite the drumming theatrics.
Master
This ...... is why I want to learn how to play drums !
dont let anything stop u!! ;)
@@drummnagain appreciate that man !
Same !
9 months later that kit gave birth to a beautiful baby drum set.
Wow ,, what planet is he from ? Nicely done Human ,,,, a favorite for sure ,,
As a guitar player , my dream drummer would be a mix between Shannon Larkin and John Bonhom!
FUCKING SICK!!!!!!!!
He's just tu much for the people, this man is clearly Tommy Aldridge himself, God Dammm...
TH-cam - "Beast mode" and it should take you to an interview with Shannon calmly describing how he plays the drums..."If y'all would like to see a demonstration...watch this..." Then this video should play!
Reminds me of the “drummer at the wrong gig” or something like that....Sharp Dressed Man cover...
Their drummuer said he was inspired by Shannon Larkin !
I seen that video. Dude was at the wrong gig for sure!! But he could play.
Oh my God...spider monkey arms...I like the song... yes
Holy shit
I'm not gay, but I love this man more than any of you could know!!!

AHHH SOUND QUALITY IN THIS VIDEO UNBEARABLE
Ähmm 💣
a long way from Ugly Kid Joe🤘🤘
😂😂😂😂😂😂
shit hot shannon! bit of a punk flavor there for sure.
You’d think the guy from Godsmack would play more like Sean Kinney
Larking is a Demon isn't he!!?
He looks like Kramer from Seinfeld.
Souls at Zero?
Similar style
