It's like a sea shanty for road workers. I've translatet it for you guys: My name is Ola Tveiten and I am a working man I own a tractor and myself and do the best I can And the bear lies in its winter den, but I don't Because all winter I have been helping to clear the road And the road was nice and wide and smooth -suddelida suddelidei! The finest I have seen -suddelida suddelidei! No, it wasn't a crooked path If it doesn't lie there forever Then I'll eat my hat -suddelida suddelidei! Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug! And I've carried crushed stone and I've carried gravel And I've been longing for home, for my wife and for my house And I've lived in barracks for weeks on end And I've cursed in the evening to wish myself ten miles away And the day was long and it was dark -suddelida suddelidei! The work was heavy and hard -suddelida suddelidei! If you ask me, you will get an answer It was work for a man From October to January -suddelida suddelidei! Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug! And soon the road will open with many big words Then we get to see a pompous prick that can cut a a string And the fool is smiling, we've seen it so often before And he gives his big speech for the proud contractor Then they all shout loud cheers -suddelida suddelidei! Gets his picture in a magazine -suddelida suddelidei! But you probably won't find us Amongst all those nice folks No, you can tell them to go to Moss (Hell/A town in Norway) -suddelida suddelidei! Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug! And when you're sitting in your car on a shining summer day So send a friendly thought to a loyal working team Who have worked their way through several heavy miles So that you can step on the accelerator and drive wherever you want While we clear the road bit by bit -suddelida suddelidei! Each meter has been a struggle -suddelida suddelidei But the road you shall have And if you don't think it's good To hell then you can go -suddelida suddelidei! Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug!
@@Cromag3 Best translation I've seen so far, but "Important guy that can cut a string" is quite the opposite. I would put "pompous prick that can cut a a string". "Among all those nice folks in top hats." Go to Moss, is also because he couldn't say go to hell.
@@PMNS1995 Thank you! And I agree, "important guy" sounded wrong, pompous is more accurate. I've changed the lyrics. I did not know about the Moss/Hell bit, how can I put that in a (bracket) and not make a too long description?(I dont want several lines of description in a text of lyrics). Or It could just be Hell?

teknisk sett er tona engelsk

Is there a translation of the lyrics? Love this song. Reminds me of a sea chanty for working on a sail powered ship
You're here from that rock breaking post on Reddit, aren't you? 😅
It's like a sea shanty for road workers. I've translatet it for you guys:
My name is Ola Tveiten and I am a working man
I own a tractor and myself and do the best I can
And the bear lies in its winter den, but I don't
Because all winter I have been helping to clear the road
And the road was nice and wide and smooth
-suddelida suddelidei!
The finest I have seen
-suddelida suddelidei!
No, it wasn't a crooked path
If it doesn't lie there forever
Then I'll eat my hat
-suddelida suddelidei!
Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug!
And I've carried crushed stone and I've carried gravel
And I've been longing for home, for my wife and for my house
And I've lived in barracks for weeks on end
And I've cursed in the evening to wish myself ten miles away
And the day was long and it was dark
-suddelida suddelidei!
The work was heavy and hard
-suddelida suddelidei!
If you ask me, you will get an answer
It was work for a man
From October to January
-suddelida suddelidei!
Trallalalalala fill up my empty mug!
And soon the road will open with many big words
Then we get to see a pompous prick that can cut a a string
And the fool is smiling, we've seen it so often before
And he gives his big speech for the proud contractor
Then they all shout loud cheers

-suddelida suddelidei!

Amongst all those nice folks
No, you can tell them to go to Moss (Hell/A town in Norway)
-suddelida suddelidei!
